The Graceful and Stunning Boss's Wife

Chapter 194: Interrogation

Su Ming discovered that there were two tables placed in front of and to the side of him.

To the side sat a young-looking officer wearing glasses, who was holding a pen and taking notes.

Directly in front sat an older man, apparently at least in his forties.

After scrutinizing Su Ming, he spoke in a low voice:

"Su Ming, we received a report that you stormed into a suite on the top floor of Yunxi Residence Club with a steel pipe and started beating people without a word. Is this true?"

Upon hearing this, Su Ming responded indifferently:

"That's because they got my friend drunk and intended to do something inappropriate to her. I had to act decisively then to rescue her from their clutches. No matter how you look at it, it should be considered as acting bravely for justice and self-defense, right?"

"Is that really what self-defense looks like? You gave someone a concussion, and they said you were raging and claimed you would die with them, clearly intending to murder. Such deliberate heavy action falls under intentional harm."

At this moment, the young officer taking notes showed a doubtful expression and spoke coldly.

Su Ming saw that both officers were looking at him with great distrust and helplessly shrugged his shoulders:

"Since you've already decided in your minds that I acted with intent to harm, why go through the motions of asking me? Isn't this redundant?"

"Su Ming! Watch your attitude! We are still investigating and gathering evidence. We must consider all possibilities of this case; it's our duty."

The older officer, Fang Xigang, has been a veteran detective at the Longcheng Yuhua Branch.

In this interrogation room, he's encountered all kinds of suspects, but this was the first time he saw someone like Su Ming, who seemed entirely resigned to his fate.

This made him feel he was losing control of the interrogation, and his face darkened with anger as he spoke.

"I've already stated the truth. In such an urgent situation, they had the numbers advantage. Alone, I had to overpower them with my momentum, or the consequences would have been unimaginable."

Su Ming's expression was calm as water, and he looked seriously at the two officers, then added:

"So I had to make them fear me, or else they'd bully the good and the gentle, and our fate would be miserable."

He paused then continued, "At that time, the victims would have been me and my friend. With their powerful backgrounds, reporting wouldn't have helped us at all."

After hearing this, Fang Xigang and the other officer exchanged looks of helplessness before leaving the interrogation room with the files in their hands.

Soon after, Fang Xigang returned and spoke calmly to Su Ming, "You can go now."

Hearing this, Su Ming looked surprised, then heard him say, "What? Do you want to stay for a cup of tea before leaving?"

Fang Xigang's face showed a slight smile, and his tone softened as he added:

"Hurry up and leave. We police officers will never wrong a good person or let a bad person go. Even if some pests exist among us, the majority still maintain professional ethics."

"Kid, you may be young, but your resilience and your courage against injustice impress me. Now go!"

After saying this, Fang Xigang left the interrogation room.

Su Ming slowly exited the interrogation room, his silhouette gradually appearing at the police station entrance. He stared at the dim streetlights, deep in thought.

With the terrifying backgrounds of Sheng Tianlun and Zhang Wenbin, and Zhang Qiang, the leader of the Yuhua Branch, it seemed like they were all on the same side.

Although that old officer indeed had professional ethics, he wouldn't dare defy Zhang Qiang's orders.

Thus, Su Ming believed leaving the police station unharmed would not be easy.

At this moment, a black Maserati approached and stopped beside Su Ming.

As the window slowly rolled down, a woman with gold-rimmed glasses, her hair neatly pinned up with a hairpin, wearing a black suit appeared.

Her exquisite and pretty face bore a cold expression, exuding an air of elegance with every movement, and she spoke coolly:

"You must be Su Ming, right? I am Zhou Jingya, Li Guoqiang's ex-wife. Get in the car."

Su Ming was stunned upon hearing this. He hadn't expected the dignified and aloof woman exuding an aura of coldness to be Li Guoqiang's ex-wife.

He was even more surprised that she had come to the police station entrance to pick him up.

Could it be that his quick release from the police station was due to this woman, or was it all orchestrated by Li Guoqiang?

With these doubts in mind, Su Ming opened the car door and sat in the rear seat.

"Aunt Zhou, was it CEO Li who asked you to get me out?"

After a while, Su Ming couldn't help but ask.

"Do I look that old?"

Zhou Jingya replied, her face showing no emotion, coolly speaking.

Upon hearing the icy voice, Su Ming couldn't help but shudder slightly.

If Lin Yanan was cold on the outside and warm inside, Zhou Jingya seemed cold from the inside out.

Feeling helpless, he said, "Then how should I address you? Calling you 'sister' messes up the generations, but calling you 'aunt' makes you seem old. I'm clueless here!"

Zhou Jingya's cold eyes flashed a hint of a smile, then she coldly said, "As you wish."

In a private room within the Emperor Bar, two similarly aged young men sat on a sofa with a man appearing to be in his early thirties.

The two young men were Zhang Wenbin and Sheng Tianlun.

"Damn it! That brat Su Ming got out of the police station unscathed. He's really gotten off easy!"

Sheng Tianlun's eyes flashed with malice, his face angry as he spoke with indignation.
