The Graceful and Stunning Boss's Wife

Chapter 322: A Familiar Place

"You already know, don't you? You just called my name."

Suddenly, Su Ming recalled that when this man charged at him, he blurted out Su Ming's name.

This man's name is Sun Licheng, captain of the Criminal Police Brigade at the Longcheng Public Security Bureau.

His eyes were as sharp as a hawk's, and his cheeks, overly thin, had clearly defined lines.

He heard this and a hint of anger appeared on his face as he spoke:

"Why so much nonsense? Just tell the truth, don't you know what kind of place this is?"

"I know this is a place that serves ordinary folks, but sometimes, people like you make us ordinary folks feel chilled."

Su Ming's expression was as calm as water upon hearing this, and he responded indifferently.

"Oh? How dare you still claim you're just an ordinary person?"

Sun Licheng, hearing this, had a mocking expression on his face, and sneered as he spoke.

"Have you ever seen any ordinary person who can rally hundreds of people to block others at the entrance of a bar? Su Ming, you were pretty bold back at the entrance of Fangtian Bar!"

Sun Licheng's pupils narrowed slightly, his gaze as sharp as a sword, seemingly trying to see through the young man in front of him.

Facing the old detective's mocking, Su Ming wasn't upset at all, his expression remained calm and collected.

Seeing Su Ming stay silent, Sun Licheng quietly watched him, trying to apply psychological pressure.

"Speak up, why did you gather so many people again on the street beside Celestial Sea Tower? And you even injured two people; that's already illegal detention and intentional injury. You could be jailed for seven or eight years, aren't you afraid?"

Eventually, Sun Licheng noticed Su Ming lowering his gaze, as if he wasn't taking him seriously at all.

Finally unable to wait, his voice grew louder as he spoke towards Su Ming.

Su Ming responded calmly upon hearing this:

"Wasn't that self-defense? Besides, I don't know that group of people; they have nothing to do with me, so it wasn't an illegal gathering."

When Su Ming entered earlier, he noticed there were only two interrogation rooms in the police bureau.

He was in the outermost room, and there was another room inside.

However, Su Ming only saw Deng Zhigang passing outside.

Thus, he immediately assumed, these detectives must have only captured Deng Zhigang, who was running last.

As for the others, they hadn't been caught.

"You're still not being honest? Your subordinate has already confessed, saying you ordered them to ambush outside Celestial Sea Tower, and then when the three appeared, they attacked them en masse."

Sun Licheng yelled out loud, the anger on his face growing strong.

After being in the police force for decades and serving as the captain for close to ten years,

he had never encountered anyone like Su Ming, calm and composed, with a face showing no emotion whatsoever.

For those serving as detectives,

the key during interrogation is to interpret a suspect's facial expressions to judge their psychological state.

Sun Licheng had never felt that interrogation could be such a tricky task.

Because no matter what he heard, Su Ming's face remained as calm as water.

After hearing this, Su Ming quietly pondered for a moment, then responded:

"That I don't know; he must be lying to you. I didn't tell him such things, he's just an employee at my company. I don't know why he'd frame me."

Su Ming knew Deng Zhigang often went to Mingchang Construction Company; Sun Licheng could easily know he was an employee there.

But he still believed Deng Zhigang wouldn't betray him with no reason to do so.

After all, these police couldn't possibly determine if he was lying.

Even if Deng Zhigang lied, they wouldn't have any means to deal with it.

"Then that's strange! Your words as brothers don't match, one of you must be lying."

Sun Licheng abruptly slammed the table, stepping closer to Su Ming, trying to exert pressure on him, then coldly said:

"Su Ming, I'm telling you, don't think it's easy to walk out of here. You're already on our key surveillance list. I advise you to honestly confess; you might even get lenient treatment."

After speaking, he headed outside, leaving only a recorder in the room.

Upon leaving the interrogation room, Sun Licheng suddenly exhaled a breath of foul air; he had never felt the outside air so fresh.

Wasn't this the psychological state those suspects should be in?

Sun Licheng suddenly found that facing Su Ming made him feel inexplicably pressured instead.

While Su Ming appeared relaxed and unhurried.

Shaking his head, Sun Licheng entered the other interrogation room inside.

"Deng Zhigang, I advise you to confess honestly; you may not know, but the crime you've committed is worth at least two years in there."

Sun Licheng's eyes showed a slight change; he noticed Deng Zhigang's face turning pale, his legs trembling uncontrollably.

A surge of joy suddenly rose in his heart, thinking this guy might be the breakthrough point.

So he quickly continued:

"If you honestly confess now, saying you acted under Su Ming's direction to lead so many people to ambush on the street outside Celestial Sea Tower, I can guarantee bail for you."

Upon hearing this, a sudden panic arose in Deng Zhigang's heart. After all, two years in prison seemed too long.

He had heard about life in prison, where newcomers might be beaten or even made to 'pick up soap.'

Thinking of this, Deng Zhigang trembled as if sifting through chaff, the fear in his eyes growing stronger.

"Take off his shoes!" Seeing this, Sun Licheng directly ordered them to remove Deng Zhigang's shoes.

Immediately, Deng Zhigang's bare feet were on the cold cement ground, trembling even harder.

Seeing Deng Zhigang's psychological defenses crumbling, Sun Licheng continued:

"Think carefully, if you honestly confess, there might be no record in the archives at all. Keep in mind, security and criminal penalties will affect your descendants' careers and examinations for governments and civil services; resisting stubbornly could have serious consequences."

Upon hearing this, Deng Zhigang lowered his head in silence, constantly contemplating.

"Deng Zhigang!" Sun Licheng suddenly slammed the table, trying to deliver a mental blow to this psychologically fragile guy.

"I don't know those people, I just came to drive for Su Ming; after all, he drank and it's inconvenient for him to drive. Thus, I don't know what you want me to confess; those people have nothing to do with Ming Brother and me!"

In his mind, Deng Zhigang recalled bits and pieces of his past with Su Ming.
