Sole Sword Supremacy

Chapter 404: Bloody Corridor

With eyes slightly narrowed, looking at these Shrimp Soldiers and Crab Generals in front of him, Wang Junze felt a faint killing intent rise in his heart.

Though Wang Junze was still unclear about the situation within the Dragon Palace for the time being, he had indeed once ventured into the Ancient Ruins. Judging by the timeline, this Dragon Palace must be at least several thousand years old. Could anything here truly exist for so long?

No matter how powerful the so-called Master of the Dragon Palace is, could they be stronger than Ye Piaoling?

But didn't even Ye Piaoling eventually fall?!

With this thought, Wang Junze slowly spoke, "If the Master of the Dragon Palace is indeed still present, we would naturally admit our mistake and retreat immediately. However... you are just Shrimp Soldiers and Crab Generals trapped in the Water Mansion, what right do you have to expel us?"

"How dare you!"

Upon hearing Wang Junze's words, these members of the Demon Race became instantly enraged, immediately brandishing weapons to attack Wang Junze.

"Kill!"

With killing intent in his eyes, Wang Junze didn't hesitate at all, instantly swinging his sword at these Shrimp Soldiers and Crab Generals.

As Wang Junze made his move, the Maiden of the Sea and the other three immediately joined the fray, swiftly entering the battle.

Despite seeming hesitant before, once they engaged, they were incredibly ruthless with one another. In just moments, nearly half of the Shrimp Soldiers and Crab Generals were killed, while the remaining ones fled in terror into the depths of the Dragon Palace.

"Huh, where are the corpses of these Demon Race members?"

Wang Junze and his companions didn't recklessly pursue, and soon discovered that the bodies of the Shrimp Soldiers and Crab Generals they had just killed disappeared quickly, leaving no trace—making it seem as if the battle was a mere illusion, never having happened at all.

"Could this actually be an Illusion Realm?"

Pupil shrinking sharply, Pei Haoran couldn't help but speak, "Not only are there no bodies, but not even a drop of blood was left... This place feels somewhat eerie!"

"It's not an Illusion Realm; it's being devoured by the surrounding Innate Water."

The Maiden of the Sea replied solemnly, "Feel the surroundings carefully, the Spiritual Qi is denser than it was earlier."

"???"

Upon hearing this, everyone's hearts couldn't help but jump, and upon sensing carefully, they found it to be just as the Maiden of the Sea said.

"Let's go further in and check it out!"

After pondering for a moment, Wang Junze stepped forward towards the depths of the Dragon Palace.

No matter what, at this point, there's no backing down. They must see the truth.

This Dragon Palace doesn't seem to be too large; before long, the group traversed the hall in front of them and entered a corridor.

Surrounding the corridor was seawater, and they could even see many swimming fish, able to freely shuttle between the corridors. However, strangely, Wang Junze and his group couldn't touch the seawater outside the corridor, as if an invisible barrier was confining them.

"Everyone, be careful!"

An instinctive sense of warning arose, and Wang Junze cautioned in a deep voice.

Roar!

Almost as Wang Junze spoke, a shadow suddenly darted out from the corridor side, opening its mouth wide to viciously bite at Wang Junze!

Shark!

In an instant, Wang Junze reacted, having previously witnessed the terror of sharks, using their power in subduing the Mirage Dragon and defeating Gao Kui.

But now, this shark was rushing directly at him.

Buzz!

The Sword Edge slightly trembled, as terrifying Sword Aura suddenly slashed at the shark, cutting a huge wound, with blood spraying out instantly, seemingly dyeing the seawater red.

Not good!

In almost an instant, Wang Junze realized the problem.

Sharks track and attack based on the scent of blood. Once they smell it, it will attract more sharks, and then it will genuinely be dangerous.

"Everyone be careful, don't get hurt by the sharks..."

Wang Junze instinctively began to warn, but as his words left his mouth halfway, he abruptly realized something, turned to look back—only to find no trace of the Maiden of the Sea or anyone else.

No, it's worse than that!

Even the path behind him had vanished, seemingly leaving only the long corridor, with no chance to retreat.

Taking a deep breath, Wang Junze's eyes showed a gleam of clarity, as his entire being instead became calm.

This is more like it!

Since it's an Ancient Ruin, how could there be no danger?

If truly only just the Shrimp Soldiers and Crab Generals was present, that would be strange.

It's utterly not the time for considering these things, the key remains on how to swiftly traverse this corridor.

Before entering the corridor, Wang Junze seemed to have the impression that it wasn't too long, but now, deeply placed within, he couldn't see any end—only seeing the corridor twist and extend endlessly forward.

The most crucial thing was that the blood left by the shark he just cut, wasn't dissipating; it kept spreading to the surroundings.

With a sudden stomp, Wang Junze accelerated rapidly, dashing forward.

Wang Junze's reaction may have been quick enough, yet the surrounding sharks reacted even more swiftly. As Wang Junze sped up, three or four more black sharks rushed into the corridor, wildly biting towards him.

With no choice left, Wang Junze had to swing his sword again towards these sharks.

This wasn't an illusion; each shark was real, and without countering, they could easily injure Wang Junze.

Even with the extreme power of the Mirage Dragon previously, whilst facing the shark group, it got chunks of flesh bitten off. As robust as Wang Junze may consider his physique, it couldn't compare to the Mirage Dragon; if he were bitten, he'd probably lose half a limb.

Splosh!

Water Sword Intent unleashed, Wang Junze acted with great speed, and within moments, these three or four sharks were forcedly slaughtered!

Yet, for Wang Junze, this was nothing good at all.

After the sharks died, the fresh blood from their bodies quickly spread out around, the intense scent of blood already feeling slightly pungent to Wang Junze—much more stimulating to other sharks and even the Demon Race from the ocean floor!

No need to think about it, it was clear that more and more sharks would inevitably arrive, and if unable to swiftly exit this corridor, it would surely lead to being attacked to death.

Having no choice, Wang Junze had to continue speeding up, frantically rushing forwards.

However, the sharks' gathering pace seemed to far outstrip Wang Junze's speed; in no time, the count increased from three or four to seven or eight, even ten or more!

In a frenzy of slaughter, Wang Junze soon couldn't even manage to think anymore, forced to rely solely on instinct to keep pushing forward.

Soon, the corridor seemed filled with countless black shadows—not just sharks, but various Demon Beasts Wang Junze had never seen—crazily flooding into the corridor, and if there were anyone observing, they'd find the corridor now seemed coated with a layer of blood, eerie and terrifying!
