"Are you sure it's him?"
After an indeterminate amount of time, a few people stealthily entered the tavern, first approaching where Wang Junze was seated, observing for a while, and then sitting at the adjacent table.
The man holding dual blades asked in a deep voice.
"It's him, without a doubt. I've seen him more than once in the Northern Domain and have participated in that final battle. There's no way I could be mistaken."
Nodding firmly, the man confidently replied, "However, if Dugu Feng was truly killed by him, we might not be able to take him down with just us."
"You believe that?"
With a sneer, the man holding dual blades scoffed, "According to rumors, Dugu Feng had already broken through to Entering the Path, and with the Godslaying Spear in hand, he could not be stopped even by a Divine Travel, let alone Heaven-Stepping! He probably just lucked out somehow."
"You all sit, I'll go test him!"
The words had barely left his mouth, and without waiting for a response, the man grabbed his dual blades and strode over to Wang Junze's location.
"Clear the way, it's a personal grudge. I know the person, but my blade doesn't recognize anyone."
As he spoke, the man released a slight aura, the murderous intent causing chaos as surrounding customers scrambled to move away.
However, this was under the Emperor's feet, though not in the Capital City, it was still guarded by the Forbidden Army, so people were not frightened but rather stepped aside to watch the spectacle unfold.
Meanwhile, Wang Junze remained utterly unmoved.
Not only Wang Junze, even Peng Ru's expression remained unchanged, as if they hadn't seen the man at all, continuing to pour wine for Wang Junze.
Such composure left the onlookers clicking their tongues in wonder.
"Boy, there are too many people here, dare you step outside and fight me?!"
With both hands gripping his blades, the man sneered contemptuously, challenging with an upward tilt of his blade-edge.
This was, after all, a tavern; even though people had moved away, there were still many around, and starting a fight could easily cause trouble if bystanders were harmed.
Without lifting an eyelid, Wang Junze continued drinking, while Peng Ru glanced at the man and said indifferently, "What are you, to dare to fight with my young master?"
In terms of strength, the man with dual blades wasn't weak, being a Heaven-Stepping Powerhouse himself.
But such strength was too weak compared to Wang Junze now.
Of course, that was not surprising. What happened in the Nether Sea, unless witnessed directly, would be hard to believe even with intelligence gathered. But many witnessed the battle in the Northern Domain.
Back then, Wang Junze was already Heaven-Stepping, and it's only been a few short months since he left the Northern Domain. Who could believe he'd improve much in such a brief time?
"You vile maid, courting death!"
Upon hearing Peng Ru's words, the man flew into a rage. Wang Junze's arrogance was one thing, but Peng Ru, in his eyes, was merely a Refining Spirit. How dare she speak to him like that?
"Young master?"
Ignoring the man, Peng Ru turned to Wang Junze for instructions.
"Kill him."
Lazily lifting his wine cup, Wang Junze gave a nonchalant order.
Such a small fry didn't pique Wang Junze's interest. Since he decided to enter the capital ostentatiously, he wouldn't be afraid of killing. If such a small fry thought to oppose him, then Prince Yu indeed underestimated him.
Making a bigger scene wouldn't hurt!
"Yes!"
Hearing Wang Junze's words, Peng Ru finally set down the wine jug, smiling charmingly, she reached for the sword at her waist.
Before others could react, her sword was already in motion!
"Squelch!"
In an instant, the moon-white sword light burst forth, the fierce Sword Intent spreading, and the man with dual blades could only instinctively raise his blades to block, but they were severed by the Sword Edge, a line of blood running from his face to his groin, splitting him in two, spraying blood everywhere, gruesome to the extreme.
Even as he fell, Peng Ru had already sheathed her sword, using her slender hands to again fill Wang Junze's cup.
Buzz!
In a moment, the entire tavern erupted, this scene leaving everyone utterly shocked!
"Murder! Murder!"
In an instant, those with less courage shouted and fled in panic.
Licheng was under the Emperor's domain, not like the lawless Nether Sea. While disputes were normal, such blatant killing was rare, let alone such a bloody spectacle.
The ordinary drinkers were terrified, but those with some cultivation and insight were even more fearful and astounded.
A Refining Spirit slayed a Heaven-Stepping!
She appeared to be a mere maid, who could have imagined she'd possess such terrifying power, effortlessly killing a Heaven-Stepping powerhouse in one strike like slaughtering a chicken!
Madness!
At the next table, Prince Yu's followers stood abruptly, involuntarily taking several steps back in shock.
If Wang Junze had done the killing, it would be one thing, but the perpetrator was merely his maid. It was terrifying.
"Frightened the others, huh? Next time be more discreet, avoid being so bloody, not only does it scare people, it spoils my mood for drinking."
Glancing at Peng Ru, Wang Junze gently admonished.
"..."
"Young master is right, Ru'er will be more careful next time."
Slightly bowing, Peng Ru softly agreed.
"Apologies for the fright, today's drinks are on me. Waiter, bring more wine, let it not spoil the mood."
With a slight smile, Wang Junze spoke gently like a noble gentleman.
Hearing this, Peng Ru immediately took out several hundred Spirit Stones, placing them on the nearby table, before returning by Wang Junze's side.
Though the waiter was trembling with fear, he couldn't resist the lure of so many Spirit Stones, gingerly signaling his companions to collect them.
"Bring wine, quickly!"
From afar, the shopkeeper by the counter hurriedly shouted.
Facing such a terrifying figure as Wang Junze, he dared not offend, fearing his delay could result in his death by sword.
As for the patrons inside the tavern, they were equally uneasy, afraid to leave without following Wang Junze's instructions for fear of retribution, so they sat quietly, casting cautious glances towards Wang Junze while blandly eating and drinking.
Turning his gaze to Prince Yu's remaining followers nearby, Wang Junze smiled, "Well, do you want to continue, or drink?"
