Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild

Chapter 131: The Taste of Victory

"The champion of the Flowing Silver Combat Skill has been decided, who would have thought? They are a team of only three participants. Like flowers that do not belong on this arid land, they bloomed in this brutal dueling arena in a fleeting glance!

"The champion is the Starflower Brigade!"

As Reed shouted, a band entered by the side of the arena, playing music as they moved along the circular venue, while streamers were sprayed from the commentary stage.

Amid the audience's watchful eyes and cheers, the doors of the arena opened, and the substantial prize money and other rewards were brought onto the field by carts and placed before the young girls.

One of the carts had a small Flying Airship parked on it.

Its shape differed from the ones with an elliptical floating airbag on top, appearing more like a small spacecraft from a sci-fi movie. In the middle was the cockpit, the hovercraft underneath, and the flying wings with propulsion units hung on both sides.

The entire craft was composed of sleek lines, appearing silvery-white, with blue embellishments at the foremost tip and the ends of the flying wings.

Blue lettering was sprayed underneath the cockpit, but it wasn't in Nebis Universal Language, making it unrecognizable to the young girls.

The Sky Knight Guild advocated issuing Adventurer Coins often in large denominations of paper money, but here there were also many of the largest denomination 100-coin coins, clearly intentional, to emphasize the visually stunning heap of coins.

"Hehe, this year is the grandest event ever, with the prize pool amounting to a full five million. If I got that much money, I'd faint from envy!"

Zoe, having no concept of money, was peering behind the money pile at the equipment.

Dorothy understood the purchasing power of the money but had also seen various wealthy lords, so she just raised an eyebrow.

However, ALulu gazed in awe.

Due to various past experiences, she was not oblivious to worldly matters and often worried about finances.

"What can this money buy?"

Zoe asked the half-elf beside her.

Dorothy replied, "In Spark Port where I used to work, a small building, but I heard in the Holy City where Li Ang used to reside, it might just be a small suite.

"It could also buy a medium Flying Airship without military equipment, though for a large one you'd have to be frugal to manage about seventy to eighty percent, but the internal configuration would be quite low, only suitable for passenger standards; I have no idea about combat standards." The half-elf shrugged.

She sighed again, "Quickly change to a new ship, my little vessel barely has room, and if two more people come aboard, they'll have to sleep on the deck."

"I'm going to check out that equipment!"

For now, the prizes had yet to be officially theirs. The host still had to handle the award ceremony and the Platinum King's address, as two hours later as planned, this place would transform into the venue for Platinum Racing, and spectators who bought the package ticket wouldn't even leave.

The Sand Beast Gang, who won third place, also returned to the stage in full force, Andasu hadn't had time to change and was still wearing a leather outfit with many slashes, but her skin underneath had already healed thanks to the Healing Spell, growing fresh pink flesh without leaving scars.

The Blood Eagle shook off the dirt and stood up, calling his people aside.

His sinister expression turned even darker, his gaze switched back and forth between the prize heap, the Starflower Brigade, and the Platinum King's high stage, quietly conferring with his subordinates.

The runners-up and third place would receive significantly fewer awards, but they were not allowed to stand with the champions, intentionally exaggerating the concept of the winner taking all.

Staff carried the trophy to Zoe and her group, handing them the hefty silver trophy.

The trophy was forged into the shape of a robust member of the Horned Race raising a fist, standing before the Flowing Silver Arena.

"Uh, is this the Platinum King?" Zoe reluctantly accepted the trophy with some disdain.

"He is quite vain, but as the organizer, doing as he pleases is typical." Dorothy said.

In the distance, Andasu glanced at the trophy for a few moments before shifting her gaze to the small Flying Airship on the cart.

She looked at the words underneath the cockpit, softly murmuring, "The Howling Wolf."

Reed, holding a megaphone, walked down from the commentary stage and came up beside Zoe with a somewhat urgent tone, saying, "Raise it, please raise it."

Zoe hesitated slightly. She didn't like this trophy.

Dorothy sighed, "Raise it up, or it'll be hard to step down."

Zoe pursed her lips, raised it high, and immediately Reed next to her raised his fist and shouted, "Everyone, witness the new Combat Skill Champion!"

The stands erupted in loud applause and cheers.

"Awesome! Girls!"

"Well fought!"

"Coming back next year?"

Met with waves of praise, Zoe paused slightly.

"They were just hoping we'd get killed." ALulu muttered beside her.

"Yeah, just entering I didn't like this feeling, I thought it was a place to compete purely on skills, but it turned out to be a place for killing and all sorts of chaos." Zoe whispered.

However, amidst the praise, her expression gradually relaxed, and the roaring cheers seemed to form a sort of lifting force trying to carry her upwards.

Her emotions seemed to lighten a bit, and Zoe, almost uncontrollably, raised the trophy again.

Amid a new wave of cheers, she held the cup single-handedly, waving with her other hand to the audience.

Gradually, a faint smile appeared on the young girl's face.

"She's getting into it." Dorothy sighed, holding her forehead.

She turned her head, and ALulu was waving her hand too.

"Come, our Half Elf Lady, wave to the audience." Reed, sidling up to Dorothy, startled the half-elf into taking a sidestep.
