Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild

Chapter 145: Past and Present

As the name suggests, the foundational environment of the Whispering Sand Sea is endless stretches of yellow sand, with a ground so solid that it's hardly noticeable, unlike the Flashing Field.

In the sea of sand, besides some ancient rock mountains from unknown eras long past, now riddled with holes by the Magic Wind, the only places to set foot are the ruins of remnants and broken walls.

Another name for this giant island comes from the inexplicable whispers frequently heard upon landing.

Scholars and curious individuals have tested these seemingly murmuring sounds, but they cannot pinpoint their origin. In fact, determining whether the sounds truly exist is almost impossible.

In the end, they can only hastily conclude that the magic flow here is extremely peculiar, perhaps causing the sounds or making people hallucinate them.

"In such a place, there lies the hideout of the Bailong Sect," Farina said.

The Witch shrugged helplessly: "They have been plotting there for a long time. I have always tried to eliminate their base there, but they are more familiar with the island than I am, having been rooted there for years. I never succeeded despite several attempts."

"Part of what you've been busy with these years was in the Whispering Sand Sea?"

Li Ang said, "No wonder you used to be quite fair, now you're tanned to this skin color."

Even now, the Dragon Witch's skin isn't quite dark; rather, with a touch of sunlight, her features become more defined and alluring, more sexy than the mere snow-white complexion of the past.

"Ah, the wind and sun have made my skin rough, but thankfully, this lady is naturally beautiful."

"That slightly tanned texture actually feels better."

"Is that so?" Farina covered her mouth and chuckled.

"Are you two really flirting in front of everyone?" Dorothy said in disbelief.

Elaphia's face had already turned dark.

"Just reminiscing a bit," Li Ang said.

Several gazes like blade's edges slashed toward Farina, but the Dragon Witch remained calm, her smile unchanged.

"I have to sigh; young Li Ang's circumstances have indeed turned upside down. He used to be thought of as indifferent to women by the Corps, with suspicions about his situation."

"Indifferent to women?" Elaphia said, "When he was fooling around with that Female Sword Hero whose name we can't even mention, his reputation wasn't exactly stellar."

Blondie Douding's words perked up everyone else's ears.

"What Sword Hero?" Zoe unconsciously reached for her sword hilt.

"An ex, an ex, an ex-girlfriend? I knew something was up with him," Dorothy started to panic.

"Oh dear, I don't know about that, was it a few years after The Soul Apex? Could it be that one who's half-step to Legendary? Li Ang surprises me again," Farina laughed.

"Brother has a girlfriend? They broke up now?" ALulu asked.

Andasu didn't say anything, only stared intently at Li Ang.

"What about the Whispering Sand Sea?" Li Ang directly asked Farina.

The girls stirred, all adopting a 'let's discuss that later, let's explain first' attitude.

Li Ang, as if he hadn't heard the previous topic, asked, "Where did you see the image of the giant wolf?"

His emotions were calm, yet it was this calm that let them sense his firm stance, stopping their further inquiries.

Seeing them remain silent, Li Ang glanced at Elaphia.

The golden-haired girl's expression was unnatural, the blade's edge in her sapphire eyes was much restrained.

Farina noticed this, pinching her chin thoughtfully.

"Fine, forget it, I'll go get some air."

Li Ang suddenly tossed aside the blanket and directly walked out of the room, leaving everyone momentarily stunned.

"Wha-What happened?"

Zoe, somewhat afraid, rubbed her head: "Did I say something wrong?"

"You're probably the least in trouble," Dorothy sighed.

"Brother's upset; I shouldn't have asked carelessly," ALulu twisted her fingers together.

Elaphia, sitting on a Flying Sword, hovered in mid-air near the door. When Li Ang walked past her, she opened her mouth to say something, but didn't in the end, her expression frozen.

Due to the pressure she's constantly emitted, with Blondie Douding currently hovering at the doorway, she didn't move, nor did the other girls.

Andasu walked directly toward the door, telling Elaphia: "Move aside, I want to comfort the master."

"I'll join too!"

Zoe didn't want to fall behind the wolf's ears.

Dorothy and ALulu also prepared to follow, the latter without any thought, and the former's face showing interest not in consoling Li Ang, but more concerned about the White Wolf, preventing her from comforting recklessly.

"He doesn't need consolation," Elaphia snapped back to her senses.

The golden-haired young lady hummed softly in a strange tone: "A lot of people in the Holy City knew about what happened back then. The ending was the girl leaving first, though I don't know the specifics either. Don't go to comfort him; it might make him feel worse."

Faced with the others' aim, Elaphia temporarily stopped emanating her usual sharpness.

"I just... misspoke earlier, I should be the one to apologize."

...

Once Li Ang entered the corridor, he was immediately met with numerous mixed gazes.

The large ship they were on belonged to the Order Flame Corps leader, naturally filled with Flame Corps members. Perhaps because they'd been to the Holy City,

they already recognized Li Ang, who was the central figure in this Storm affair.

These gazes ranged from admiration and confusion to suspicion, with some wearing similar clothing to the Douding family members casting him complex looks.

Their attire resembled that of Elaphia's, and when Li Ang opened the panel, he realized their data showed that they were indeed her clan.
