He knew that she was so happy now because of what he said.
"Truly, no matter if it's your true self or your transformed self."
"Specifically where?"
The young girl stared at Li Ang like a cat whose pupils had dilated, clearly indicating that he wouldn't be let go without a clear explanation.
"You are adorable as you are, mastering swordsmanship with diligent effort, never fearing enemies, your stance when you sweat is youthful and radiant, truly outstanding."
"R-really?"
After the explanation, Zoe felt a bit shy facing Li Ang's compliments about her.
The young girl blew on her smooth skin, her voice as soft as a mosquito's hum.
"I also strive for Li Ang's sake... and then?"
"And then, your Holy Snake stance is noble and elegant, akin to an ancient queen or the princess of a Divine Spirit, making people yearn for it. It makes one feel honored to even be her friend."
"It's girlfriend," the young girl corrected.
Firm in her heart's conviction, she didn't consider any confession formalities, emphasizing it as a foregone conclusion.
"And then again, the Ice Wolf stance is the opposite, adorning your vitality with wildness, drawing out a different kind of... beauty?"
"Did you mean to say sexy?"
Li Ang felt the entwined embrace grow hotter, unable to discern if it was from himself or her.
"... as for the new stance, it's even more ethereal and elegant, making one admire, um, dazzled..."
His language processing module began to overheat.
But anyway, he managed to finish.
The smile on Zoe's face gradually retracted, contained within her ruby-like eyes, transforming into a complex shimmer of watery emotion.
The young girl's delicate lips slightly parted, blowing a moist breath.
"So, do you love me like this?"
After speaking, Zoe made a bashful gesture of covering her mouth, which she seemed to have learned from somewhere.
Li Ang felt as if his heart was suddenly being gripped.
He somewhat wanted to curse those authors who dared to write anything in books, yet felt such a response was indefensible, leaving him at a loss.
In the silence, his breathing grew considerably rapid.
He opened his mouth, but Zoe interrupted: "I know, you're going to say it's still early and you worry there might be some issues."
She straightforwardly said: "Then let it be, take it slow."
The young girl relaxed her arms, preparing to climb off him.
Li Ang breathed a sigh of relief, his body relaxing.
Zoe swiftly turned around, pressing her lips to his mouth.
The slightly sour fragrance of a young girl pervaded his nostrils, making Li Ang feel as if his spirit was in a jolt.
She didn't know what to do, only having seen such ambiguous phrases in romantic novels, where the lovesick protagonists regarded it as a grand goal, leading her to feel it was a must-do.
Zoe's overwhelming emotions transformed into repeated lip and tongue entanglements.
Li Ang held her slender shoulders, gently pushing her away.
Now, in her blue beast-ear state, her pink lips shimmered brightly, her eyes slightly unfocused as if pondering and realizing what just happened.
"It seems, not quite like what the books say."
She came to her senses, meeting Li Ang's gaze with a satisfied sly smile.
"Li Ang knows everything, yet tells me nothing, so I can only act with what I know."
Li Ang maintained a neutral expression, something building up within him unnoticed by Zoe.
"It's not that I'm not telling you, I just think the timing isn't right."
"I am willing myself, so who thinks it's inappropriate? Dorothy? The wolf ears? I don't care about others."
Zoe pressed her face against Li Ang's chest: "Being with Li Ang is the happiest."
"What you just did wasn't right, the correct way should be like this."
"Eh?"
Before Zoe could express surprise, her lips were pressed against, her eyes widened, her ruby pupils contracting, then gradually filled with a misty shimmer.
Li Ang, at this moment, decided not to care about the miscellaneous anymore.
He took it upon himself to guide and teach everything.
Her powerful legs covered in soft fat tensed together, as if trying to merge them into one.
For a long time.
Even longer.
Separation and reunion repeated in cycles, the lead role switching. From unfamiliarity to growing understanding, the young girl also experimented with independent action and sensation.
The clock on the wall continued its tick steadily, making countless rounds, unaffected by the subjective feelings of those present.
Throughout the afternoon, they changed different positions.
The young girl's various transformations brought myriad changes to Li Ang's senses, each one distinctly her, showcasing her love in different ways.
Sometimes she reverted to her original self, sometimes coiled in the Holy Snake stance, other times as brave as an Ice Wolf and occasionally light and unattached like a Baiyu Celestial Maiden.
Once Zoe comprehended what it was all about, it was akin to cashing in the attachment that had developed since Satus Island, plunging into a gentle fervor.
It was the moment of tender affection of a young kitten's cooing intimacy.
Trembles like heavy rain, intermittent wind ceases, then waves ripple anew.
Until the restaurant's waiter arrived down the corridor to announce dinner, Zoe remained oblivious.
"Shall we skip dinner, then..."
Zoe murmured, her voice echoing directly into Li Ang's head cavity.
Reluctantly separating from her, the girl's face was smeared quite excessively, tears had left multiple traces at the corners of her eyes.
Li Ang knew that he didn't look much better than her.
"We have to go, otherwise if they find out..."
Li Ang never imagined there'd be a day when he'd use references to other problematic young girls to settle the numero uno issue girl.
Even though he had experienced the state of being despicable and insatiably greedy, he was still mindful as a man of midlife.
"Alright."
Zoe agreed as though it were a difficult decision, gazing at Li Ang's face, then suddenly leaned in, delicately grazing his lips with her tongue, drawing out a glistening string as she satisfactorily stood up.
However, her clothes were a mess. Though always ready with a sword, on this ship she wore no armor, inside layers were something Li Ang had given her, outside it was a newly bought coat.
Several areas were soaked with sweat, possibly not even just that.
She stood there bewilderedly, perhaps suddenly realizing what just transpired or forgetting where she was and who she was.
Li Ang thanked the Material Magic Scripture in his possession, raising a circle of water, precisely washing away the marks on their faces.
He adjusted the girl's lapel, sensing no one outside the hall; ALulu had just departed first, while neither Dorothy nor Andasu was in sight.
No sooner had he thought this than he heard the two emerging from somewhere, quietly discussing collaboration, heading to the dining room together.
"All clear," Li Ang indicated.
Zoe quickly nodded, seizing the chance to dart back into the room.
He was about to do the same.
Standing in the bathtub, Li Ang realized the absurdity of it all.
He looked at his reflection.
Oddly enough, he didn't feel that he didn't recognize himself; one always somewhat knows what's hidden within oneself.
Perhaps upon seeing her, certain possibilities were predestined, and the instant she boarded the ship, some things became inevitable.
It's hard to say if it's fate or the secret guidance of an inner longing.
He shook his head, dismissing these thoughts.
What's needed is not to be tangled up in these, but to reciprocate her feelings equally in the future.
Touching the red barbs on his arm, he smiled at the person in the mirror.
From today onwards, perhaps I'll gradually stop being human, in all sorts of ways.
The demon's curse can be reversed, but some things, like a runaway carriage, are hard to disembark from.
Waiting outside the door for a bit, Zoe emerged with still-damp hair.
Li Ang promptly used shaping skills to dry her hair with warm air, hiding all traces that had been left.
But some things were inherently changed.
The young girl naturally leaned over, clinging to his arm, eyes becoming sultry, whispering affectionately.
It seemed like this would be the case until they reached the dining room.
