Standing in front of the Sandstorm Lioness, the mysterious girl from the Horned Race simply said, "Bring it on."
The Sandstorm Lioness replied, "You don't seem local, and you're a girl. Just a reminder, this is no playground."
She even glanced at Zoe, "Same goes for you, you should be prepared before stepping into the ring."
"Grrr!" Zoe angrily grabbed the edge of the ring, itching to charge forward herself.
"I'm really short on money." The Horned Race girl's voice was soft and tender, reminiscent of a nursing infant.
"I won't hold back." The Sandstorm Lioness assumed her stance.
"Please be careful, don't die," said the Horned Race girl.
"Ha! Watch me tear you to pieces!"
The Sandstorm Lioness erupted in anger, her already chiseled features contorted with fury, exuding menace. Dorothy quickly clutched Li Ang's arm.
The more than two-meter tall, strong woman charged forward from her position, the wind whistling, her hand like a beast's claw directly grabbing at the masked girl.
Boom!
The air exploded with a loud bang, and almost no one could see what had happened. On stage, only the challenging Horned Race girl remained, slowly retracting her small fist.
Someone exclaimed, and only then did people find the Sandstorm Lioness in the corner of the room.
She, along with the elastic ropes at the ring's edge, had been blown into the wall and was already unconscious.
"It's my turn, my turn." Zoe was about to go up, but Li Ang quickly pulled her back.
"What's wrong? Are you afraid I can't beat her? I saw her punch, I can fight her."
"No, if you two start, this place might be destroyed."
This was just a small underground fighting ring, a place like many others in the Flashing Field.
The girl on the stage seemed somewhat extraordinary, and Li Ang glanced at her status panel.
[Name: Alulu Zephilinus]
[Race: Horned Race [Power God Bloodline]]
[Profession: Paladin, Tier 3]
[Summoned Beast: None]
[Energy Source: None]
[Equipment: None]
[Secret Technique: None]
[Skills: Paladin [Holy Power Slash, Protective Energy, Purity's Shield Against the Corrupted], Racial Bloodline [Powerful God Body]]
This was a classic example of needing nothing flashy, just the beauty of pure stats.
[Skill: Powerful God Body]
[Activation: Passive]
[The body of the Powerful God manifests here, and as one grows, strength and physical toughness will increase exponentially]
Relying on just one talent, this Horned Race girl possessed extraordinary brute force.
Originally, her race was adept with power, and now she was even more formidable.
Even though the Sandstorm Lioness was a Tier 4 Fighter whose punches and kicks could materialize energy or matter, crushing Mortal Realm barriers, she couldn't withstand one strike from sheer divine power.
Li Ang held back Zoe because the two were practically evenly matched.
This small underground room couldn't withstand the clash between two supreme beings, with walls and ceilings likely to crumble as they fought.
"Let's go, let's go, your fight would draw too much attention."
The Flashing Field was very chaotic, and occasional misbehavior might go unnoticed, but a world-shaking battle at the Mortal Realm could attract unnecessary attention.
Zoe, though sulking, was obedient to Li Ang and didn't say a word.
In the corridor shops, they bought some cloaks, giving one to each of them, and their attention gradually shifted to the novel goods on display.
Dorothy examined the scanty local-style clothes with many frills, tempted to reach out but hesitated, her cheeks growing redder.
Zoe paused in front of a bookstore.
The Flashing Field was relatively wild and backward, offering little entertainment, where the wealthy could buy curious goods imported from other Aerial Realms, while ordinary folks might just read books to pass the time, and the very bottom layer couldn't even read.
Bookstores were scarce here, and once inside, it was apparent that the shelves were filled with second-hand books.
"Huh? They have this book here? So there's a sequel?"
The young girl whispered to herself.
Li Ang followed her gaze and saw it was "My Secret with the Rebellious Lady in the Forest Manor, Part 2."
This book had a subtitle, "Make Him Love You Forever."
Zoe reached out and took the book down, and along with it, another book, "The Sword King's Adventure - Outland."
The Sword King's Adventure was a fairy tale, but this book was evidently not serious work, drawing attention with a ring of women around the Sword King on the cover, authored by "New Knight Guild."
"You shouldn't read this one." Li Ang put the book back, finding the other sequel more acceptable—she had read quite a few like it, but this one definitely had issues.
Zoe nodded, already flipping through the pages.
Leaving her in the bookstore, Li Ang went out to find Dorothy, spotting the Half Elf maiden standing at a jewelry store entrance.
Inside were displayed various metal rings set with gemstones and filigree, similar to the fine chains seen on passersby.
"Do you like these?"
Dorothy wistfully asked, taking a ring ornament from beside and placing it in Li Ang's hand.
She whispered in his ear, "In the City of Trade, didn't you ask me where that jewelry was worn?"
The girl turned sideways, slightly lifting her shirt hem at an angle where outsiders couldn't see. If her impeccable, snow-like waist was divine artistry, the faint green ring in her delicate navel added a touch of humanity to the elven vision, instantly capturing the young man's heart before her.
She let her hem fall back into place, her fingertips tracing up the curve of her figure to her cherry lips, while the other hand swirled downward, hooking around her waist, her eyes dreamily falling on the ornament in Li Ang's palm.
"...Anywhere you like, it can be worn for you..."
"What are you two talking about?" Zoe's voice suddenly interjected from the side.
"Eek!" Dorothy jumped in surprise, seeing it was someone she knew, her relief replaced by an indignant blush on her cheeks, "Ugh, you're really my nemesis."
Li Ang felt a immediate sense of salvation; the test was a bit too exhilarating. He moved next to Zoe, glancing at the stack of books in her hand, "What books did you buy?"
Except for a single educational book, they were all works akin to those her mother favored.
"You two..." he sighed, massaging his temples.
Li Ang was about to say something when he noticed both girls' gazes shifting past him.
"What a coincidence, Li Ang."
Two familiar faces unexpectedly appeared before them.
