I Can See Health Bars in Real Life

Chapter 3: Loosening (Part 3)

What does this Half-Demon want to express? Isn't it a given that Demons have long lifespans? Forget about a hundred years, even two or three hundred years is commonplace. Let alone those Great Demons, even average Demons consider three to five hundred years to be trivial.

"No, it's because he never meddles unnecessarily..."

Gu Mo smiled, then restrained his expression and said seriously, "Master, please don't meddle in our affairs either. We haven't harmed any innocent people and have always lived quietly in this village. So, could you please let us be?"

"..."

"..."

The old monk felt slightly taken aback, but still shook his head solemnly and said, "I'm sorry, I can't agree with that."

The chasm between humans and non-humans is enormous. How can the residents of this shore and the other shore coexist in one place? Especially the Witch from before should certainly not remain in the mortal world. This is the old monk's belief, and he has his own doctrines and reasoning that cannot be easily swayed.

"So there's nothing to discuss?"

Even though he expected this outcome, Gu Mo couldn't help but sigh, and his gaze toward the monk became dangerous.

"Whatever skills you have, show them..." The old monk said sternly, determined to see this through, and no one could stop him. Not even this Half-Demon, especially since the Charm had no effect, he didn't think the other would have any other methods.

It's nothing but bluffing and posturing, all bark and no bite.

"Alright, so you're virtuous, you think you're unstoppable, do you really believe I can't handle you..."

Gu Mo sneered, and as he sneered, the monk opposite straightened up, his mana brimming and ready to act.

Although he still didn't believe the true strength of the Half-Demon was that great, having suffered a setback just now, he naturally wouldn't underestimate him again. Regardless of how the other might erupt, Old Monk Qinghai would crush him with a thunderous attack, exhibiting Bodhisattva's heart with thunderbolt measures!

Yet—

"Hey! Everyone, look over here!"

The old monk didn't expect the young Half-Demon opposite him to not make a move. Instead, he took a deep breath and suddenly shouted loudly, catching the attention of villagers busy under the scorching sun.

Gu Mo waved his arms to draw the villagers' attention, continuing to shout loudly, "Look here, look here, these two wretched monks, everyone take a good look! Especially this old guy, he has malicious intentions, he just tried to drive the Witch out of the village..."

"?" The old monk was dumbfounded, wide-eyed, wondering what this was all about.

In the next moment, he felt dozens, if not hundreds, of angry gazes focused on him.

......

In the village.

At Kikyo's place.

"Xiao Ye, is there something else?" Watching as the group of children left with their sorted herbs, and the little girl still lingered by her side, Kikyo showed a gentle smile, lightly touching the girl's soft hair and speaking softly.

"Sister Kikyo..."

Xiao Ye hesitated, then asked, "You won't leave here, right?" Her eyes were filled with hope and longing, seemingly very worried.

The Witch was momentarily surprised, then smiled as she sensed the little girl's emotions—worry, and trust and attachment towards herself.

After a brief thought, she gently asked, "Does Xiao Ye like me?"

"Mm! I really like you! I like Sister Kikyo the most!" The little girl nodded without hesitation!

"Then I also see Xiao Ye as a little sister, why would I leave?" Kikyo's smile grew even softer, her gentle words seemed to be both an answer for the little girl and a whisper to herself, as if trying to convince herself.

"Really!?" The little girl brightened up, her eyes sparkling. "I knew the village elder wouldn't lie to me, he said Sister Kikyo and Big Brother..."

Excitedly speaking, she suddenly remembered the elder's and her parents' warnings, hurriedly covering her mouth, stopping herself from saying more.

"Hmm? What about me and him?" The Witch raised an eyebrow slightly, was there something she didn't know?

But at this moment, from outside, a very noisy sound faintly came through, with shouts, angry cries, and sharp curses echoing continuously, seeming like many villagers were causing the commotion. Although the distance was far, it could still be heard faintly, which made the Witch's heart skip a beat—

What's happening outside? Why is it so noisy?

She immediately stood up, her brows furrowed, looking out towards the source of the noise.

At the village entrance, a large crowd of villagers was bustling, with men, women, and children still carrying the field's mud, sweating profusely, yet they didn't care. They were all agitated, waving their hoes and pitchforks, chasing and beating the two monks in front.

Those without tools picked up clumps of mud and stones from the ground, hurling them aggressively ahead, cursing fiercely as if they held a deep grudge, their disdain apparent.

One young and one old traveling monk were being knocked around, begging for mercy, while a large crowd of villagers relentlessly chased and cursed them.

Dust rose everywhere, creating a spectacularly fierce scene.

And at the direction of the village entrance, that guy was calmly munching on an unknown fruit, slowly walking back, seemingly indifferent to the chaotic backdrop behind him.

"...Truly reckless..."

Silently watching for a moment, the Witch sighed.

Though she said such words, there was an undeniable, subtle grin at the corner of her mouth.

Slowly pulling her gaze back, she lowered her eyelashes, looking at the little girl beside her who was curiously tiptoeing to look out the window again. She reached out once more, ruffling that little head... although she truly wanted to live stably like before and believed this village could accept her.

But, perhaps it's time...

......
