I Can See Health Bars in Real Life

Chapter 8: Encounter

First, there's the Charm Divine Power of the Nine-tailed Demon Fox, enhanced by the Demonized State, plus the secondary bonus from the Four Souls Jade Fragment to the Demonized State.

Then there's the Artificial Demon Eye, which may not be particularly prestigious on its own, but can still benefit from the dual enhancements of the Demonized State and the Four Souls Jade Fragment, thus significantly improving its Effect.

And when all these BUFFs are stacked together, Momoman is completely unaware of what he's facing. Even if he were vigilant, defending against it would be quite difficult, because merely being in the sight of the Demon Eye means falling into the activated Technique Effect, which is virtually impossible to guard against.

Moreover, he was completely unaware and even looked directly into Gu Mo's eyes, naturally making the Effect of the activated Demon Eye even stronger.

Gu Mo was adding BUFFs to himself, while Momoman was actively stacking DEBUFFs on himself—whatever the former added to himself, the latter debuffed himself equally, so in the end, they were probably fully stacked. So logically, Momoman was unknowingly led to suicide, dying without even realizing what happened.

"I originally intended to take direct action, but his defensive Power was incredibly thick with all that fat, and now he's petrified too. I figured I probably couldn't tear him apart, and it would be awkward to be stuck in a stand-off with him… so I just let him handle it himself."

Gu Mo explained this way, seemingly logical and reasonable.

The Witch did not comment on this, after all, successfully dealing with Momoman was the best outcome, and this circumstance only led her to reevaluate this person. It seemed she had underestimated him; he clearly had quite a few secrets.

For a brief moment, she was slightly apprehensive about this person's Illusion Technique Power. However, given her own strong Spiritual Power and high Inspiration, using Illusion Techniques against her was undoubtedly very challenging, so after a personal check confirming no issues, she was relieved.

Plus, Gu Mo was very forthcoming in handing over the new fragment, showing no reluctance, which slightly eased the Witch's concern.

—Of course, only slightly.

After a moment's contemplation, she withdrew her gaze from Gu Mo's open palm, not taking the fragment, and instead said indifferently, "You should keep it for now. If you can't use it, it doesn't matter who holds it; there's no need for me to safeguard it."

"...Is that so?"

Gu Mo first blinked, then straightforwardly nodded, smiling brightly as he said, "Then I'll hold onto it for now."

He sighed lightly in his heart but understood Kikyo's caution regarding the Four Souls Jade. Was she still testing him because the cost of this Jade was too painful in her past life?

Indeed, thinking about it, in her short life, the Witch practically never lived for herself, always combating the Four Souls Jade, and ultimately died because of it—not to mention she still didn't know about Naraku's plot, and the person she trusted completely betrayed her over this Jade.

No matter who it is, they'd probably have PTSD; it's understandable...

Seeing his prompt agreement, the Witch's eyes remained calm, as if no longer concerned with this matter, but her gaze intentionally or unintentionally swept over the fox ears atop Gu Mo's head.

—Nine-tailed Demon Fox?

—But where in the world does such a being still exist?

—And right now, this person no longer seems like just a simple Half-Demon, but rather a quite special case...

With a myriad of thoughts racing in her mind, Kikyo remained outwardly composed, looking around calmly, and softly said, "Let's put out the fire first; don't let it spread any further."

This person's Fox Fire ignited the buildings and made everything flammable burn intensely. The flowing, fiery red heat was like dancing elves, and the fire was spreading towards other buildings in all directions, threatening to consume the entire complex if unchecked.

"OK, no problem."

The fox ears atop Gu Mo's head twitched, then he nodded to show he heard, and without deliberately doing anything, the fierce flame around them suddenly went out without any warning.

Everything seemed like an illusion.

Yet the charred beams around them, the collapsed pillars, and those small Spirit Monsters emitting bizarre roasted aromas on the ground, coupled with the massive residual heat in the air...

These all attested to the fact that a large fire had indeed just happened.

The ability to manipulate flames is one of the basic abilities of the Nine-tailed Guardian Spirit, especially in the current Demonized situation, where Gu Mo no longer possesses just the weak Aura Effects stemming from the Nine-tailed's abilities, but can directly employ the Nine-tailed Power, adeptly controlling the phenomena surrounding the flames.

Though it's still only a part of it, as the full version should be complete Demonization.

Just like when Chacha transformed directly into a Nine-tailed Demon Fox through the Nine-tailed Guardian Spirit's Power.

"I'll go clean up those that slipped through the net."

Kikyo surveyed the surroundings before saying this; she could detect the presence of weak Demon Qi, presumably from the small Spirit Monsters Momoman had gathered as subordinates. With Momoman's fall, they have no restraint, and if not cleaned up, they might soon scatter.
