He Ate a Divine Dragon

Chapter 282: Who Are You Exactly?

Pei Yanzi cried miserably, as though she had suffered the greatest injustice in the world. Lin Xiao, however, didn't know where to put his hands and awkwardly let her sob in his arms.

After some time, Pei Yanzi's crying gradually subsided. Lin Xiao let her go, and she looked up at him with tearful eyes.

"What brings you to Jinhai City?" Lin Xiao asked.

Pei Yanzi wiped her tears and said in a low voice, "I was feeling down, so I came out with a classmate to take my mind off things."

"Feeling down? What happened?" Lin Xiao asked curiously.

Pei Yanzi looked down and shook her head.

When she didn't seem to want to talk about it, Lin Xiao changed the subject. "Where's your classmate?"

With red-rimmed eyes, Pei Yanzi looked around. "I don't know. I don't know where she went either."

"It's alright if you can't find her. Are you okay?" Lin Xiao asked with concern. After all, she was Pei Donglai's sister, so Lin Xiao naturally had to show some concern.

"Big Brother Lin, I-I'm fine."

"Let's go. I'll take you home."

Pei Yanzi gave Lin Xiao a grateful look just as they were about to get into the car.

However, the old man Lin Xiao had just dealt with wasn't pleased. He struggled to his feet and shouted furiously at Lin Xiao, "You filthy beggar, do you have a death wish? How dare you lay a hand on me!"

Lin Xiao glanced at him. This scumbag may look plain, but his aura is surprisingly strong. He's probably not someone to be trifled with. Then again, an ordinary person wouldn't dare do something so shameless in public.

Pei Yanzi was clearly terrified. Hearing the old man's words, her entire body shuddered, and her pretty face turned pale once again.

"Yanzi, get in the car first. I'll handle this," Lin Xiao said.

Pei Yanzi gave him another grateful look but didn't leave right away. "Big Brother Lin, how... how will you handle it?" she asked, worry etched on her brow.

Lin Xiao smiled. "Don't worry. Dealing with scum like him is nothing. Even if I had to tear a hole in the sky, it wouldn't be a problem."

"Oh? You sure talk a big game, you stinking beggar. Today, I'd like to see just how you're going to handle this!"

Lin Xiao ignored him and said to Pei Yanzi, "Get in the car first."

Although Pei Yanzi was worried about Lin Xiao, she knew she was only a burden at the moment. Staying would only cause him more trouble, so she hurried toward the Cullinan parked nearby.

Seeing Pei Yanzi about to leave, the scumbag grew anxious. "Damn it, you filthy beggar! If you don't want to die today, make that bitch spend the night with me, or else..."

BANG!

The old man was instantly sent flying like a cannonball. His body slammed so hard against a nearby car that the entire vehicle shuddered. After hitting the ground hard, he tried to get up, but as soon as he moved, a shocking spray of blood burst from his mouth, splattering everywhere.

But Lin Xiao had no intention of letting him off so easily. He strode over to the old man and stood before him, looking down on him. His gaze was full of contempt, as if he were looking at an ant.

The old man saw a terrifying killing intent in Lin Xiao's eyes, and his heart shuddered violently. This guy looks like a beggar, so why are his eyes so terrifying? And why does he exude such an oppressive, fierce aura?

But the old man's panic was fleeting. He quickly composed himself and roared at Lin Xiao, "Stinking beggar, you'd better kneel and apologize to me right now! Otherwise, I'll make sure you don't see tomorrow's sun! Let me tell you, my name is Du Kebang, and I'm from the Du Family of Jinhai City!"

Lin Xiao was taken aback. The Du Family? Jinhai City's second-ranked family. They're countless times stronger than the Xue Family. No wonder this old man is so arrogant. It turns out he's relying on his family background. Unfortunately for him, a background like that is nothing but a pile of shit in my eyes.

Seeing Lin Xiao go silent, the old man grew even more arrogant. He must be scared stiff by my family's name.

"Kid, if you know what's good for you, get on your knees, now! Otherwise, I'll make sure you don't see tomorrow's sun!"

Just as Lin Xiao was about to speak, he heard a respectful voice from behind. "Mr. Lin, is there a problem?"

Without turning around, Lin Xiao knew the speaker was Tie Shankao.

"No problem, just ran into an idiot," Lin Xiao said casually. "Is your business taken care of?"

Tie Shankao walked up to Lin Xiao and said respectfully, "Reporting to Mr. Lin, it's done." As he spoke, he glanced at Du Kebang, who was slumped on the ground. "Mr. Lin, allow me to handle this. There's no need to waste your time on such a trivial matter."

Lin Xiao nodded. He had no desire to waste his time dealing with this moron.

Seeing Lin Xiao agree, Tie Kaoshan said coldly, "Get up. You're coming with me."

Du Kebang was immediately displeased. "Shit! Who the hell do you think you are, telling me to go with you? I'm from the Du Family! If you don't have a death wish, get on your knees and apologize to me now!"

Tie Shankao froze for a moment, a terrifyingly cold glint flashing in his eyes. "Oh, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Tie Kaoshan, and I am—"

Before he could finish, Du Kebang cut him off. "Shit, and here I thought you were someone impressive. Turns out you're just one of Ding Peng's dogs. If Ding Peng himself were here today, I might give him some face, but who the hell are you?"

Tie Shankao nodded expressionlessly and gestured to a man standing behind him. A burly man soon walked over with a person slung over his shoulder. It was none other than Ding Peng, who was already dead.

"Master, your orders?" the burly man asked.

"This Mr. Du seems eager to meet Ding Peng."

The burly man nodded and tossed Ding Peng's body right in front of Du Kebang.

Du Kebang was about to speak when he saw Ding Peng's face. His eyes were tightly closed, as if he were asleep. But Du Kebang knew with chilling certainty that he wasn't asleep. He was dead.

At this realization, the color drained from Du Kebang's face.

Seeing this, Tie Shankao said indifferently, "Allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Tie Kaoshan, and I am the new helmsman of Jinhai City's underworld."

BOOM!

The words struck Du Kebang like a thunderclap, and his face turned deathly pale. Even an idiot would know what that meant, and Du Kebang was certainly no idiot.

And thinking back on how Tie Shankao treated this beggar... Du Kebang finally realized something was terribly wrong.

He glanced at Lin Xiao and asked in a trembling voice, "Kid, who the hell are you?"
