He Ate a Divine Dragon

Chapter 360: 358 No objections

"Captain, why are you so good to my sister?" Pei Donglai asked cautiously.

He couldn't help but ask. Lin Xiao treated his sister even better than he, her own brother, did. Pei Donglai was dying to know why, or more accurately, what Lin Xiao's intentions were toward his sister.

Lin Xiao chuckled. "Because Yanzhi is your sister."

Pei Donglai was stunned. He had thought Lin Xiao would give a whole list of reasons, but he'd never expected it to be something so simple.

"What, you don't believe me?" Lin Xiao asked.

Pei Donglai quickly shook his head. Of course he believed Lin Xiao. Given Lin Xiao's status and background, there was no reason for him to lie.

"Alright, stop overthinking it. Chu Xiangxue is coming back to the bar tonight. When she does, have Yanzhi come over and ask for her opinion. If Chu Xiangxue thinks it's a good idea, let Yanzhi give it a shot. There's no harm in trying, anyway."

Pei Donglai nodded. "Captain, I'll do as you say!"

Lin Xiao grunted in acknowledgment. "Just focus on your work. The bar is reopening today, and you know my wife takes it very seriously. A lot is riding on this place, so we absolutely cannot allow any mistakes. And remember what I said before: if anyone dares to cause trouble, show no mercy!"

Pei Donglai nodded firmly.

"Oh, by the way, another security guard will be coming in later. Show him the ropes."

Indeed, Lin Xiao planned to have Bei Kuang work as security at the bar. It would be a real waste not to use such incredible skills. Of course, it wasn't just about needing another guard. Su Qingning was about to become a kidnapping target for many people in the criminal underworld, and Bei Kuang's presence at the bar would provide another layer of protection for her. While Shen Jingzhe was likely sufficient on his own, Lin Xiao always made sure to be thorough, leaving nothing to chance.

"I understand, Captain. I'll show him the ropes properly," Pei Donglai said respectfully.

Lin Xiao nodded and drove off. He was planning to go have a talk with Su Qingkun.

He hadn't been driving for long when he called Bei Kuang.

Bei Kuang answered instantly. "Dragon Lord, what are your orders?"

"Are you busy?" Lin Xiao asked.

"Not at all."

"If you're not busy, report to my wife's bar. I've lined up a job for you."

"What job?"

"The bar needs a security guard. Your skills are heaven-defying, so I want you to help watch over the place and protect my wife while you're at it. Any objections?"

Bei Kuang had no objections; in fact, he was eager for any chance to stay by Lin Xiao's side. Ever since learning Lin Xiao's true identity, Bei Kuang was filled not just with reverence for him, but also with a deep sense of brotherly affection.

"No objections. Rest assured, I will handle everything you've tasked me with."

"Good. One more thing, when you're at the bar, just call me Captain."

"Understood."

Lin Xiao hung up.

Soon, he arrived at Su Qingkun's company. That piece of trash was currently running a trading company. With the backing of the Su Corporation, or more accurately, his father Su Daonong, the company had made a considerable amount of money.

Standing at the entrance to Su Qingkun's company, Lin Xiao was about to enter when two security guards blocked his path.

"Where did this stinking beggar crawl out from? Scram! This is no place for you to beg," one of the burly men, his face fleshy and brutish, bellowed.

In response, Lin Xiao simply swung a heavy backhand slap across the man's face. If someone dared to block his path, he'd just knock them down. He had no time to waste on their posturing. The slap sent the guard crashing to the ground, where he passed out without so much as a groan.

That was Lin Xiao holding back. Otherwise, that single slap would have made the man's head explode.

The other guard was instantly terrified by the display. He stared, dumbfounded, as Lin Xiao strode nonchalantly into Su Qingkun's company, too scared to even breathe.

What a bunch of snobs, judging people by their appearance.

Su Qingkun was in his office flirting with his secretary. She was a recent hire with the face of an internet celebrity and a smoking hot body. At Su Qingkun's instruction, the secretary was wearing a white blouse, a micro-mini skirt, black stockings, and high heels. From behind, she was undeniably sexy. At that moment, Su Qingkun had the secretary in his arms and was kissing her sloppily.

Suddenly, the office door was kicked open.

Su Qingkun flew into a rage and was about to tear into the intruder, but when he saw it was Lin Xiao, his expression darkened.

He slapped the secretary on her rear and said, "Go on, get back to work."

The secretary gave Su Qingkun a flirtatious smile. "Of course." Then, she sashayed out of the office.

Su Qingkun lit a cigarette and crossed his legs. Exhaling a cloud of smoke, he sneered, "What are you doing here, you stinking beggar?"

"I came to laugh at the joke your family has become, of course," Lin Xiao said with a serene smile.

The remark stung Su Qingkun. He shot to his feet, his face ashen as he stared at Lin Xiao. "You stinking beggar, I dare you to say that again!"

"What's wrong? Is it not enough that your sister married a beggar? Do you want to marry one too?"

"Fuck, shut your damn mouth, you stinking beggar!" Su Qingkun roared.

The news that Su Qingfeng had married a beggar had spread all over Jinling City, turning the Su Family into a complete laughingstock. Everywhere any of them went, they were met with pointing fingers and whispers. The last few days had been incredibly suffocating for Su Qingkun. Now Lin Xiao was bringing it up again, rubbing salt directly into the wound. There was no way he could be happy about it.

"Shut up? Who the hell do you think you are to tell me to shut up?" Lin Xiao swaggered over to the sofa, sat down, and propped his legs up. He looked at the infuriated Su Qingkun like a king surveying his subject.

Seeing Su Qingkun's eyes bulging like a bull's, as if he wanted to swallow him whole, Lin Xiao said disdainfully, "What, you unhappy?"

"Fuck you! You think I'm not pissed?"

"Su Qingkun, you're upset already? You'll probably cough up blood if I tell you this is only the beginning," Lin Xiao said with a cold smirk.

"Fuck it! You stinking beggar, what the hell are you even here for?"

"First, go make me a pot of tea. My throat is a bit dry."

"Get lost! I'm not your servant!"

The words had barely left his mouth when Lin Xiao snatched the ashtray from the coffee table. Without another word, he hurled it straight at Su Qingkun's head.

CRACK!

With a sharp sound, the ashtray shattered against his head. A miserable scream tore from Su Qingkun's throat.

"What are you standing there stunned for?" Lin Xiao asked coldly.

His nonchalant tone sent a shiver down Su Qingkun's spine. Suppressing the towering hatred in his heart, he went to make tea for Lin Xiao. If he weren't terrified of getting beaten again, Su Qingkun would have spat in the tea.

Lin Xiao glanced at the cup of tea set before him, then back at Su Qingkun. "How much does your company make per year?"

"None of your business," Su Qingkun said coldly.

Lin Xiao smiled. "Brother-in-law, don't get me wrong. I have no interest in your company."

"First, don't call me brother-in-law. Second, even if you were interested in my company, I'm not afraid. The worst that could happen is I shut this piece of crap down!"

Lin Xiao gave him a thumbs-up. He smiled. "Brother-in-law, you really do get me. Since that's the case, why don't you go ahead and shut down this crappy company?"
