He Ate a Divine Dragon

Chapter 449 Showdown

Lin Xiao sneered with utter disdain and didn't even bother to dodge.

A bullet whistled toward him. Unhurriedly, Lin Xiao reached out and flicked his Xuantian Needle forward.

DING!!!

The sound of metal striking metal echoed in the air. In the next instant, the bullet clattered to the ground at Lin Xiao's feet, while the Xuantian Needle spun around and returned to his hand.

It all happened so fast that Xiao Shixiong hadn't seen a thing, but he did see the bullet lying at Lin Xiao's feet. A bone-chilling cold instantly shot through him. He was about to speak, but Lin Xiao had already darted forward like a bolt of lightning.

Yes, Lin Xiao had already locked onto the shooter, who was hiding behind a trash can not far from Wangjiang Tower.

The shooter saw Lin Xiao coming. Although he was shocked that Lin Xiao had deflected his bullet, he still didn't take him seriously. Seeing Lin Xiao rush toward him, he sneered in disdain and fired five or six more shots in quick succession.

To his astonishment, his shots missed even as his target drew closer. By the time he fired his last bullet, Lin Xiao was almost on top of him, yet the round still zipped harmlessly past his head. Lin Xiao was completely unscathed.

The shooter was dumbfounded. Only now did he realize he had made an incredibly stupid mistake: he had underestimated Lin Xiao.

Unfortunately for him, by the time he came to this realization, Lin Xiao was already standing right in front of him.

Panic seized the shooter's heart. Frantically, he pointed the gun at his own temple.

Yes, he wanted to commit suicide. This was the rule for the Kishida Family's Death Warriors: if a mission failed and the target found them, the only fate that awaited them was death. This man was indeed a Death Warrior secretly trained by the Kishida Family, and his sole purpose in coming to Kyushu was to kill Lin Xiao.

The Death Warrior intended to kill himself before Lin Xiao could capture him.

But how could Lin Xiao possibly give him such an opportunity?

Before the Death Warrior could pull the trigger, Lin Xiao snatched the gun from his hand.

Panic flooded the Death Warrior's heart. He frantically drew a dagger that glinted coldly and lunged at Lin Xiao.

Lin Xiao sneered. He seized the man's wrist and gave it a sharp twist.

CRACK!

The Death Warrior's wrist, the one holding the dagger, was completely shattered—the bones pulverized. A wave of excruciating pain washed over him, and the Death Warrior screamed.

But Lin Xiao wasn't finished. After taking the man's dagger, he moved swiftly, severing the tendons in his opponent's arms and legs. The man collapsed to the ground.

This was not to vent anger, of course, but to prevent the man from committing suicide. Before prying more information out of him, there was no way Lin Xiao would let him die.

Xiao Shixiong and his men rushed over. Even though Lin Xiao said nothing, Xiao Shixiong was no fool; he understood what had just happened.

"Boss, leave him to me. I guarantee he'll confess everything."

Lin Xiao planned to let Xiao Shixiong handle it anyway. He wasn't one to waste time on such trivialities.

Besides, wouldn't this time be better spent flirting and stealing a few kisses from Su Qingning?

"Hmph. This trash is from Cherry Blossom Country. Investigate him thoroughly."

"Understood!"

Lin Xiao handed the gun and dagger to Xiao Shixiong, then turned and got into his car.

After watching Lin Xiao leave, a sinister look crossed Xiao Shixiong's face. With a wave of his hand, his men dragged the Death Warrior into a car and sped away.

When Xiao Shixiong returned to his mansion, Li Shilin was already there.

But Xiao Shixiong wasn't in a hurry to deal with Li Shilin. First, he had his men drag the assassin to the basement, where he kept his torture room. Only after dealing with all of this did Xiao Shixiong turn to Li Shilin with a smile.

"Sir, you asked for my return. What are your instructions?" Li Shilin asked respectfully.

Honestly, Xiao Shixiong couldn't be blamed for being deceived. Li Shilin's disguise was simply too good; he projected an air of gentleness, respect, thrift, and compliance. How could such a man possibly belong to the Ghost Medicine Sect? And yet, he did.

Even though Xiao Shixiong desperately wanted to kill this piece of trash right now, he still said with a smile, "Nothing much. The person you're serving has changed, that's all. I called you back to give you some new instructions."

Li Shilin nodded. "Sir, I'm actually a bit curious about something."

Xiao Shixiong smiled. "Curious about what? Lin Xiao's identity?"

Li Shilin grinned, his smile completely harmless. "To be honest, sir, I was quite surprised when I first saw him."

"Surprised about what?"

"Well, he looks so ordinary, yet you treat him with such respect. It made me curious about his background," Li Shilin explained. Then, as if afraid Xiao Shixiong might misunderstand, he quickly added, "Sir, it's not that I look down on Lin Xiao or underestimate him in the slightest. I'm just curious, that's all. Purely curious."

Xiao Shixiong laughed and waved his hand. "It's not strange for you to think that way. After all, no one would think Lin Xiao is some impressive big shot at first glance. In fact, he isn't. The reason I had you help him is that I owe him a huge favor."

An expression of sudden realization dawned on Li Shilin's face. "I see. And here I thought he was some earth-shattering big shot."

Xiao Shixiong smiled. "Let's not talk about him. How are things at the bar?"

"Not bad."

Xiao Shixiong nodded. "I'm sorry to have put you through this. You should be running a much larger company, but instead, you're stuck in that tiny bar."

"Sir, you're being too kind. I don't feel slighted at all. It doesn't matter where I am; as long as I can work for you, I'm content."

Xiao Shixiong burst into hearty laughter. But as he laughed, his eyes suddenly turned cold.

"A pity."

"A pity, sir? What's a pity?" Li Shilin asked.

"A pity that even though you've done a good job, you still have to die."

Xiao Shixiong's eyes sharpened, and a terrifying sense of oppression radiated from him.

Li Shilin stared at him, feigning shock. "Sir, what... what do you mean by that?"

"Greetings, Hall Master of the Ghost Medicine Sect's Ninth Hall of Yama," Xiao Shixiong said with a cold laugh.

That one sentence explained everything.

Li Shilin stared at Xiao Shixiong, stunned. After several seconds, he suddenly burst into laughter—a sinister, chilling laugh. The man who was groveling just a second ago now exuded a terrifying aura.

With a cold smile, Li Shilin said, "Oh, so you found out who I am. In that case, sorry about this, Xiao Shixiong, but I'll have to send you on your way."
