"What do you think Shang Tuo is doing in Jinling City this time?" his Master asked in a solemn voice.

Lin Xiao was taken aback.

"Master, do you mean he's coming for Su Qingning?"

His Master smiled.

"It's not impossible. You know that Su Qingning is basically Tang Monk's flesh right now—consuming her would grant someone ninety percent of your cultivation. With such a huge temptation, who wouldn't be moved?"

His Master was right.

"Who is that?"

"You don't know?"

Lin Xiao was somewhat speechless but could only manage a wry smile.

"Fine, don't worry about it. Simply put, he's incredibly powerful—a young genius who will likely be one of my strongest rivals in the future struggle for power."

"And?" Shen Jingzhe pressed.

"I met with him this afternoon, and he asked to work at the bar. I agreed."

Shen Jingzhe was exceptionally astute. She took one look at him and asked, "So, you're worried he's after Qing Ning?"

Lin Xiao gave her a thumbs-up. It really was easy talking to a smart person.

"I am worried about that," Lin Xiao admitted.

"How powerful is this Princely Heir of the Northern Territory you mentioned?" Shen Jingzhe asked coldly.

"What, was I wrong?"

Lin Xiao was speechless.

Seeing him go quiet, Shen Jingzhe asked coldly, "When is that sports car you promised me arriving?"

"It's already at the bar. It arrived yesterday."

"Then why didn't you tell me?"

"I only just found out today myself!"

Shen Jingzhe snorted coldly.

"Consider yourself sensible."

Lin Xiao gave her a fawning look.

"So... my wife's safety..."

He didn't finish his sentence, but Shen Jingzhe obviously knew what he meant.

"I know. I'll do my best to protect her."

"Thanks," Lin Xiao said with a smile.

Shen Jingzhe gave Lin Xiao another disdainful look.

Su Qingning quickly finished changing, emerging in a simple athletic outfit. Although it wasn't as stunning as the black dress she'd worn that morning, she now had a sporty, energetic aura. It gave her a different kind of charm.

Lin Xiao was quite pleased with her choice of clothing. After all, a bar could be a chaotic place. It wouldn't be safe if she dressed too provocatively.

Lin Xiao turned and entered the security room.

Bei Kuang was drinking tea.

When he saw Lin Xiao, the old man broke into a grin.

Then he said respectfully, "Dragon Lord, good afternoon."

Lin Xiao nodded.

"You're coming with me to Jinhai City tomorrow morning."

"Understood!" Bei Kuang said with great respect.

As for what they were going to do in Jinhai City, Bei Kuang couldn't care less.

Whatever it was, Bei Kuang would follow Lin Xiao's lead.

"Dragon Lord, how about a few drinks later tonight?" Bei Kuang asked with a fawning expression.

"What, craving a drink already?"

Bei Kuang nodded vigorously.

"Alright. I'll have someone bring over some food and drinks later. We can have a little something right here."

"No, Dragon Lord, let's wait until after our shift. There are quite a few people from the martial world in the bar right now, and I need to keep a close watch. If anything were to happen, I'd never forgive myself."

I didn't expect this old man to be so principled.

As they were chatting, there was a sudden knock on the security room door.

"Come in," Lin Xiao said in a deep voice.

The door soon opened, revealing a face that was familiar yet strangely new to Lin Xiao's eyes.

It was none other than Shang Tuo.

I thought he wouldn't be coming until tonight. I can't believe he's already here.

Upon seeing Lin Xiao, Shang Tuo smiled.

"Did I come a bit early?"

"Not at all. Perfect timing. Come in," Lin Xiao said nonchalantly.

As the Dragon Lord, Lin Xiao wasn't in the habit of fawning over others—unless that other person was Su Qingning.

Shang Tuo stepped quickly into the security room.

"And this is...?" Bei Kuang asked curiously.

Lin Xiao said, "This is Shang Tuo. You could say he's an acquaintance I'm meeting for the first time today. He'll be working at the bar from now on. You can show him around and get him familiar with the place."

"Yes, sir!" Bei Kuang nodded firmly.

With that, Bei Kuang looked at Shang Tuo. "Shang Tuo, is it? Let's go. I'll give you a tour of the bar."

"Thank you for showing me around," Shang Tuo said with a smile.

"Don't mention it."

With that, Bei Kuang led the way out of the security room.

Shang Tuo gave Lin Xiao a nod and then hurried outside.

Bei Kuang gave Shang Tuo a quick, perfunctory tour of the bar's exterior before leading him inside.

As soon as they entered the bar, Shang Tuo saw a breathtakingly beautiful woman inspecting something.

Standing beside her was another young woman wearing a thin, veiled mask.

The moment he laid eyes on the stunning woman, the smile vanished completely from Shang Tuo's face. His eyes widened like saucers, as if he couldn't believe such a beautiful woman could exist in the mortal world.

Noticing his reaction, Bei Kuang chuckled. "That's Miss Su, our Security Captain's wife and the owner of the bar. Don't even think about getting any ideas, or the Captain will have your head."

Shang Tuo chuckled.

"I wouldn't dare."
