Chapter 76: Ye Xuan

Ye Qiu was driving Cheng Jie's Ford, pushing the speed to its limits.

Cheng Jie sat in the passenger seat, his heart about to leap out of his chest. He kept his mouth shut, afraid to make a sound, knowing Ye Qiu was in a bad mood and anxious.

As Ye Qiu drove his Ford at over 400KM per hour, he frantically dialed his father and Luo Bing but no one answered.

For a moment, Ye Qiu was anxious, knowing something might have happened to his father and Luo Bing.

He accelerated further, heading towards H City, but on the way, he did not see Ye Xiong or Luo Bing.

"Where are they?" Ye Qiu was worried but knew anxiety wouldn't help, so he focused on driving, scanning his surroundings while heading to H City.

...

Meanwhile, Luo Bing was in a very dangerous situation. She was a C-level driver, and her BMW R8 performed well, but now she was surrounded by four or five modified vans, relentlessly crashing into her car, making her very uncomfortable inside.

"Who are these people and why are they pursuing Uncle Ye..."

Luo Bing had seen Ye Xiong drop something when he left, and she intended to return it to him.

However, Ye Xiong's speed was too fast, and she couldn't catch up. As Luo Bing was disappointed and about to turn back, she saw Ye Xiong's pickup truck being surrounded by several vans engaged in a high-speed chase.

Seeing this, Luo Bing was shocked and followed, but unexpectedly, the vans noticed her and some split off to block her path.

Luo Bing was calling Ye Qiu for help when one of the vans rammed her car, causing her phone to fall. At that moment, she had no time to care about the phone and concentrated on maneuvering to avoid being stopped by the vans.

Despite being blocked by some skilled van drivers, Luo Bing's driving skills were good, so she initially evaded them. However, over time, the cooperation among the opponents made her feel like she might be flipped over several times.

At that moment, Luo Bing felt tense, and then suddenly, a loud bang was heard as the passenger side window of her BMW R8 was shattered by a hammer from a van.

"Ah..."

Luo Bing screamed, hurriedly grabbed her phone to call the police, and tried to call Ye Qiu again, but the side window got smashed at the same time.

Panicking, Luo Bing lost control of the car, allowing the vans to force it to a stop.

Luo Bing sat inside, terrified, as masked individuals armed with baseball bats and other weapons surrounded her vehicle, smashing her car frantically.

Inside, Luo Bing clutched her head and screamed desperately, her mind overwhelmed with fear.

At this moment, she heard the sound of brakes screeching. Luo Bing was startled and then saw Ye Qiu step out of the Ford.

"Ye Qiu..." Luo Bing was thrilled, but then saw the masked baseball bat-wielding individuals surround Ye Qiu, prompting her worry.

...

"Who are you? " Ye Qiu, having seen these people smashing Luo Bing's car, urgently got off and asked coldly as those armed with baseball bats surrounded him.

However, before he finished speaking, they remained silent and swung their bats at him.

Ye Qiu was startled but quickly fought back while shouting to Cheng Jie, who had also engaged in the fight, "Get in the car, leave them to me."

"No way, Ye Qiu, there are too many of them, I can't let you handle it alone, argh..."

Before Cheng Jie finished, he felt a sharp pain in his head, having been hit hard with a baseball bat, making him dizzy with stars in his eyes, blood flowing from his forehead.

"Chubby..."

Ye Qiu roared and rushed towards Cheng Jie.

Bang.

Cheng Jie was hit again on the head, clutching it in pain, hollered before collapsing on the ground, unconscious.

As he passed out, he saw Ye Qiu rush up, punching away the person who attacked him, a gratified smile appearing on Cheng Jie's face.

Bam bam bam.

Ye Qiu, now with a Level 5 of Strength, although not superhuman like in the novels, was still able to handle six or seven people at once, sending them flying. However, the number of opponents meant he got hit by several bats.

"Ye Qiu..."

When Ye Qiu dragged the unconscious Cheng Jie to the battered BMW R8 near Luo Bing, she got out, concerned, and asked Ye Qiu about his condition.

"I'm fine."

Ye Qiu rubbed his shoulder, then looked at the group of baseball bat-wielding individuals still around, making him nervous.

He checked his Strength Attribute and remaining Experience Points, knowing it was far from enough to upgrade to Level 6, so there was no choice but to fight them head-on.

Yet, already at his limit against five or six opponents and injured, with ten or so remaining, head-on confrontation would likely have an undesirable outcome...

"Damn, let's go all out, it's just a gamble for life!"

Ye Qiu spat on the ground, picked up the baseball bat, and just as he was about to engage with the opponent, a van screeched to a stop in front of them. Ye Qiu was taken aback.

Next, he saw Cheng Kong get out of the van with his crew, all wielding wrenches.

At that moment, Cheng Kong saw the unconscious Cheng Jie and the injured Ye Qiu, and immediately flew into a rage. He shouted to his crew, all of whom were holding large wrenches, "Beat them hard! I'll take full responsibility for whatever happens."

After shouting, Cheng Kong also brandished a wrench and charged toward the masked men angrily, "Damn it, you dare hit my son? I'll kill you all today!"

Ye Qiu, in a daze, watched as Cheng Kong wielded a wrench against the masked men and started fighting. He then joined the fray.

Those masked men, realizing they couldn't defeat Ye Qiu and his team, attempted to flee desperately after a few of their men had their arms broken. They scrambled back to their vehicle and made a chaotic escape.

"Shit!"

Cheng Kong hurled the wrench with force, hitting the back window of the fleeing van. Clearly, he hadn't had enough of the fight.

"Uncle Cheng! Hurry and take Fatty to the hospital."

Ye Qiu said at this moment.

Cheng Kong was startled, then he looked at the unconscious Cheng Jie, who was bleeding from his head and lying on the ground. His eyes filled with pain, and he quickly had Cheng Jie moved onto the van. He was about to say something to Ye Qiu when the distant wailing of police sirens caught his attention.

"Let's go!" Cheng Kong shouted.

Ye Qiu and the others hurried into the car, Luo Bing also abandoned his BMW and got into Ye Qiu's Ford. After executing a 360-degree drift in place, Ye Qiu shouted at Cheng Kong's van, "Uncle Cheng, I'll distract the police, you go."

"Be careful."

Cheng Kong was worried, but he knew there was no other way at the moment.

Ye Qiu nodded, accelerated the Ford towards the direction of the incoming police cars, while Cheng Kong drove off in the opposite direction.

...

As the Ford accelerated, its speed climbed rapidly. Watching the approaching police cars ahead, Ye Qiu's gaze was intense.

"Hold on tight."

Seeing the police cars in front had lined up and deployed spike strips, Ye Qiu warned Luo Bing beside him.

Luo Bing, hearing this, tightened his seatbelt, watching Ye Qiu's focused profile as he drove, his eyes flickering with uncertainty.

...

The Ford drew ever closer to the police cars, and standing beside one was a female officer in uniform, with a harsh facade under a woman's police hat. Watching the rapidly approaching Ford, she commented coldly, "Hmph, does he really think he can charge through?"

A nearby officer said, "With spike strips ahead and our cars behind, his tires will surely burst upon contact, causing the vehicle to lose control. That's when we'll apprehend him."

The female officer nodded, "Hmm."

This female officer was named Ye Xuan, the captain of the criminal investigation team in H City's police force. Upon receiving a report that a gang, the Flying Car Gang, had brazenly attacked civilians on the highway, she decided to personally lead the capture of these individuals.

Seeing the swiftly advancing Ford and the spike strips laid ahead, Ye Xuan's eyes glinted coldly.

No matter how skilled a driver, hitting the spike strips would inevitably lead to blown tires.

But Ye Xuan couldn't have anticipated, couldn't have imagined, that when speed surpassed its limits, conventional wisdom no longer applied.

The Ford seemed to ignite with rocket propulsion, the car's body becoming ethereal. When it hit the spike strips, nothing happened, and it blasted through.

Passing through the gap between two police cars right before Ye Xuan, the Ford sped by.

The Ford's gust of wind knocked off Ye Xuan's hat. Her short, neat hair fluttered in the breeze, and disbelief spread across her resolute face.

"How, how did he get through?"

She looked in bewilderment at the rapidly retreating Ford, unable to comprehend what had just happened.

The officers beside her, equally stunned, could only shake their heads dumbfounded.

"Forget it, it doesn't matter. He actually dared to act so brazenly in front of me. I will definitely catch him today."

Glaring at the stupefied officers around her, Ye Xuan seethed with anger. For the Flying Car Gang to act so impudently in her presence made her feel that if she didn't catch them, there was no point in being a cop.

After a furious shout, she got into a police car with her team.

Sitting in the driver's seat, with the Ford no longer in sight, Ye Xuan's determined face broke into a cold smile, "Hmph, since coming to H City, I haven't encountered such a skilled driver. Seems like today I'll have to unleash my SSS driver skills; otherwise, I won't catch up with you."

Ye Xuan was a police officer and also an SSS-ranked driver.

As she finished speaking, she started the police car, and its speed surged instantly, disappearing in the blink of an eye as she chased after the Ford.
