Chapter 232: Rampage Four Men

On the vast and desolate sea, the half-sunken sun dyed the endless waters a mottled golden yellow. Amid this breathtaking natural spectacle, two ships that had just come alongside each other were beginning an all-out melee battle.

Wang Zhifan was merely a passenger on one side; he had no obligation to join the fight. However, driven by a personal goal, he took the lead, charging at the forefront.

Narrow planks, just over a foot wide, had been placed across the sides of the two ships. These makeshift bridges were not particularly stable, and anyone without enough agility and decisiveness could easily fall into the sea below. At that moment, Wang Zhifan stepped first onto one of these planks with steady steps, seemingly walking on solid ground. Holding a crescent-bladed black-handled scimitar, he advanced at a pace slightly faster than a normal walk, heading straight for the opposing ship.

"This guy is out of his mind…"

The crew on the Sea Parrot couldn't understand why one of their passengers would take the initiative to charge at the enemy, especially over planks placed by the enemy, risking entering the enemy's lair. They could only instinctively think that the young passenger had been so intimidated by the fame of the Great Horned Shark Pirate Group that he lost his mind, seeking his death as quickly as possible.

"Courting death!"

The reaction from the crew of the Great Horned Shark Pirate Ship was no different. They also couldn't fathom why a young man with a knife would dare charge at them, especially against the ranks of their gunmen!

No instructions were needed; the gunmen of the Great Horned Shark Pirate Group immediately pulled their triggers at the lone charging enemy, confident that with just one round of collective firing, the reckless youth would be riddled with bullets, falling into the sea below to feed the fish.

But would the situation play out that way? The answer was, of course, no.

After the gunmen pulled the triggers on their loaded firearms, all of their guns misfired without exception, not producing even a spark!

"FUCK! How could this happen?!"

"Damn it! First, the cannons malfunction, and now the guns!"

"Brothers, there must be an evil wizard casting spells from the other ship! Let's rush over and kill them all!"

...

Upon finding that their prized weapons were disobedient, the gunmen were shocked, but being the ruthless pirates they were, they did not panic in this sudden situation. Instead, they drew their melee weapons, ready to charge collectively onto the opposing side, now that their long-range firepower was lost, preventing the disadvantage from affecting the subsequent battle.

"Charge!!!"

The pirates showed remarkable unity, not displaying the traits of a ragtag bunch. They charged fiercely towards the planks laid between the ships. Some chose to engage Wang Zhifan in close combat, while others jumped onto other planks, eager to reach the opponent's deck quickly.

"Quick! Fire! Their guns have misfired! We can push them back!"

The captain of the Sea Parrot was overjoyed, jumping out from behind the large crate he was hiding in, aiming his gun at the enemies climbing the planks and shouting for the other hiding crew members to launch an attack.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Rapid gunfire erupted from the Sea Parrot, followed by screams as some fell into the sea beneath the planks. The scales of victory seemed to tip towards the Sea Parrot side.

Wang Zhifan, reaching a third of the way across the plank towards the enemy ship, encountered his first adversary, a red-haired Caucasian youth with slanted eyes. He wielded a sharp spear, the length of which far exceeded Wang Zhifan's scimitar. It was evident that his decision to confront Wang Zhifan one-on-one was not mere foolhardiness.

"Go feed the fish, you yellow-skinned bastard!"

The red-haired youth glared fiercely, thrusting his spear straight at Wang Zhifan's abdomen.

He believed that with his weapon's superior length, Wang Zhifan had no choice but to be skewered or try desperately to dodge. But standing on the narrow plank, with the deep sea below, Wang Zhifan seemingly had nowhere to escape, destined to be pierced and fall into the waters.

In that brief moment, the red-haired pirate did not witness the scene he anticipated. Instead, he suddenly heard a loud "clang" and felt a tremendous force on his spear, causing him to uncontrollably fall sideways off the plank.

Years of life at sea endowed him with excellent balance and agility. As he fell, he tried to grab the plank with one hand to steady himself. Yet in the corner of his eye, he saw a towering figure suddenly closing in on him, and then a flash of a blade. His vision began to spin rapidly, drawing ever closer to the water below.
