Chapter 88: Summoning Four-Color Array

After climbing for about an hour, Wang Zhifan and the others finally covered all the mountain paths, crossed all the dangerous sections, and reached the summit of this snow-capped mountain.

This peak is enormous, and its summit is naturally very broad. If it weren't for the thick clouds visible at the distant edges, one might easily mistake this place for a flat plain on the ground.

At this moment, as Wang Zhifan and the other three players walked up from the lower mountain path, they felt the biting cold wind on their faces and the suddenly expansive view, yet they did not see a single dragon in sight.

"Where's the BOSS?"

Wang Zhifan carefully observed the flat and unobstructed summit ahead and the sky above, empty except for swirling snow, feeling puzzled.

However, the teammates beside him did not share this confusion. Being more informed, they were not in a hurry to find the BOSS, and instead, began their final strategy discussion before attempting to clear the level.

"According to intel from the forum, as long as we collectively move to the center area ahead, clear the snow to reveal a circular array, it will activate the final mechanism of the Dragon Peak Trial, and then the dragon BOSS will appear. It's best to strategize now because once this process starts, we won't have another chance until we clear it."

The middle-aged man in a leather coat started the discussion, urging everyone to think about how to handle the final BOSS.

"Isn't the tactic the same as before? You use your summons to hold off the BOSS's attacks as much as possible, and we find opportunities to deal damage. It doesn't matter whether I use a knife or a gun."

The young swordswoman, dressed in slimming black and with long hair, responded nonchalantly.

"Young lady, you're not taking the Dragon Peak BOSS seriously enough. Don't think that this dungeon's final BOSS is only a bit stronger than the monsters we've faced on the way up."

The middle-aged man in the leather coat, seeing the swordswoman's attitude, immediately spoke with a serious expression.

"I can responsibly tell you, if we're facing two dragons, my Bear Buddy and Eagle Buddy won't last a minute before they're all wiped out, and my other two battle pets, which I'm about to summon, won't last long either. So, whether we clear this dungeon depends on you all. It's best to defeat the BOSS within the one to two minutes I hold it off, or else the consequences will be dire."

He continued, sweeping his gaze over his teammates in front of him, especially focusing on Wang Zhifan, who had recently displayed his strength.

"Don't worry, with our lucky brother's help, even two dragons won't be a problem."

After hearing the Beast Tamer's words, the young gunner immediately shifted the focus to Wang Zhifan.

"Even if his sniper rifle can't one-shot the dragon BOSS, it'll surely cause severe harm."

This young man clearly couldn't forget the black sniper rifle Wang Zhifan revealed an hour ago, believing that as long as Wang Zhifan used it well, dealing with a two-dragon BOSS wouldn't be an issue.

"It's not much of a problem on my end."

For his teammates counting on him, Wang Zhifan wasn't surprised. He calmly replied, indicating he would do his best.

"With our lucky brother's help, plus our containment, facing a two-dragon BOSS shouldn't be too challenging. So everyone, take a final rest. Once everyone is ready, we'll activate the array and begin the challenge."

The middle-aged man in the leather coat, seeing the situation, said no more, taking out cigarettes and a windproof lighter to light one for himself and the young gunner each.

When his cigarette was halfway finished, he retrieved two scrolls from his personal space, tearing them apart one by one.

As the torn scrolls turned into light fragments and vanished in the wind, two additional colossal creatures appeared beside the Beast Tamer, apart from the gray bear and golden eagle.

One was a giant azure-scaled serpent about twenty meters long with a body as thick as a barrel. The snake's head was a massive, chilling triangle, and its eyes were minute and icy. When it coiled into a massive disc and raised its triangular head, flicking its tongue at the players, everyone felt a chill from the heart, colder than the frigid environment they were in.

The other summoned creature was much more appealing; it was a giant tortoise the size of a heavy-duty truck. It had a gray, sturdy shell and strong limbs and head protruding from it. Though larger than the coiled serpent, its overall impression was stable and solid, not intimidating.

"Wow! Old man, you really brought out your hidden treasures?! With these two big guys, even fighting two dragons should be a sure bet!"

When the Beast Tamer summoned his additional combat power prepared for the BOSS, the young gunner was quick to praise, for these creatures were several times the size of the nearby gray bear and golden eagle, suggesting a much higher combat potential.

"Whether or not they're hidden treasures doesn't matter; these two summon scrolls were going to be used up anyway, and they're perfect for this Dragon Peak dungeon."

Unbothered by the young gunner's comment, the Beast Tamer appeared indifferent, showing the confidence of a wealthy player.

He continued to smoke and chat with the gunner beside him. When only the cigarette butt remained, he flicked it away casually before turning his attention to Wang Zhifan, seemingly admiring the distant snowy scene, and the swordswoman, resting with her eyes closed.

"You two, we're ready. Are you prepared?"

He then asked them aloud.

"Yes."

Wang Zhifan turned and nodded calmly, as composed as before.

"Let's begin."

The swordswoman quickly opened her eyes and brushed off the snow from her long hair.

"Let's go!"

Seeing everyone ready, the man in the leather coat commanded his two large summons and two giant summons to move toward the center of the snow-covered summit, while the other three followed closely behind.

About three minutes later, they reached the central area on this snow-clad summit plateau. When the middle-aged Beast Tamer had the gray bear scoop away the snow, the four of them saw a multicolored complex design with red, green, blue, and purple hues on the rock surface beneath.

"Why are there four colors? Isn't it supposed to be one or two random colors?"

The leather-coated man closest to the array spoke with visible confusion upon noticing the vibrant colors of the circular array on the ground.

He recalled the intel stating that if one dragon appeared, the array would correspond to one color, two dragons would be two colors, and even three dragons would be three colors. However, no one had ever mentioned four colors on the forum.
