Chapter 117: Gege~ Gege~ What Is a Mama?

"Guoguo, your brother is sad."

The little one hesitated, her small face full of indecision. Finally, like an adult, she sighed softly and comforted Mo Jingchun:

"Alright, alright, brother is the most beautiful."

"It's brother who's the most handsome."

"It's brother who's the most beautiful, that way Guoguo is also the most beautiful."

For a moment, Mo Jingchun couldn't argue with Guoguo's logic.

A couple strolling past Mo Jingchun and Guoguo happened to overhear their conversation and laughed heartily.

The man in the couple said to the woman, "So cute, why don't we have one too?"

"Get lost, do you want me to go to school with a big belly?"

Mo Jingchun felt so embarrassed that he picked up Guoguo and quickly ran away.

Probably tired from playing on the sports field, after a bath, Guoguo climbed into bed. Normally she would play for another hour or two, but today, as soon as she got into bed, she fell asleep quickly.

Anyway, when Mo Jingchun came back from his shower, he saw the little one already curled up and asleep under the covers.

Looking at the sleeping Guoguo, Mo Jingchun decided that he would take Guoguo out for walks more often when he had the time.

It's good for her to run around more, and exposing her to the outside environment will prevent her from becoming too introverted when she grows up.

At night, Mo Jingchun also felt a bit tired. Lying on bed, he played on his phone for a while, but then drowsiness quickly overtook him.

After putting down his phone, Mo Jingchun quickly fell asleep.

The next day, the weather changed suddenly. The forecast clearly said it would be sunny, but around ten in the morning, a heavy rain began to pour.

In the classroom, Mo Jingchun and his classmates watched the heavy rain outside, occasionally accompanied by claps of thunder.

Mo Jingchun wasn't worried. Whether it rained or not, he always brought an umbrella.

Most students did the same, habitually keeping an umbrella in the small mesh pouch of their backpacks. However, many of the girls didn't look very happy.

The girls who dried their quilts outside were really let down by the weather forecast this time.

With this heavy rain, cotton quilts would be ruined for sure.

When the lunch break came, Mo Jingchun saw the girls rushing out, disappearing from sight.

Running back to the dormitory, Deng Lanlan found her pant legs soaked, and her sneakers even more so.

When the anxious Deng Lanlan reached the place where the quilts were usually dried, she was astonished to see that there wasn't a single quilt left, just bare spots.

"Huh? Is that student looking for a quilt?"

The dorm manager lady's words made Deng Lanlan feel like her world had suddenly brightened up.

Turning around, Deng Lanlan quickly nodded to the dorm manager and said, "Yes, Auntie."

"Oh, you girls, not paying attention to the weather forecast. Look at the boys in the building across; none of them hung their quilts out today."

"Come here, we brought all the quilts back inside. Come look for yours."

"Make sure you don't take the wrong one, or someone else might get anxious if they can't find theirs."

Deng Lanlan really wanted to say that she dried her quilt because she checked the weather forecast and it was misleading.

As for the boys, it was already rare if ten out of the whole building hung their quilts out.

Of course, Deng Lanlan didn't dare say this out loud to the dorm manager. The boys frequently called her "mom," making her very happy, so saying anything bad about the boys in front of her would only bring trouble.

After Deng Lanlan and her roommates found their quilts, they finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Luckily, it was just a false alarm.

Otherwise, they would have had to go to the supermarket to buy new quilts.

However, not all students were as lucky as Deng Lanlan and her friends.

At many dorms, there were too many quilts drying, and the sudden heavy rain caught everyone off guard. Even though the dorm managers rushed to collect the quilts, many students' quilts still got soaked.

All of a sudden, the supermarket witnessed a booming business.

To everyone at Jing University, the rain probably made the supermarket owner the happiest person, smiling from ear to ear, even wishing for more such downpours.

The rain kept falling, showing no sign of stopping by evening, although it was much lighter compared to when it first started in the morning.

Feeling a bit chilled, Mo Jingchun took out the foot basin, deciding that he wouldn't take a bath, just soaking his feet would do.

In the living room, Guoguo sat on a small stool, her little feet resting on Mo Jingchun's big feet, reluctant to dip her toes into the foot basin.

Mo Jingchun found the water temperature quite comfortable, but for tender-skinned Guoguo, it was a bit too hot.

As Mo Jingchun enjoyed the comfort of soaking his feet, Guoguo covered her nose and said in her childish voice:

"Big brother~ your feet are stinky~"

Though not really stinky, there was indeed a smell.

Since his shoes got wet, Mo Jingchun changed his shoes but not his socks, and after a whole day, there was definitely an odor.

Mo Jingchun glanced at Guoguo without saying anything. When the water temperature seemed right, Mo Jingchun bent down and put Guoguo's little feet into the warm water.

"Guoguo~"

"Hmm~"

As Mo Jingchun helped Guoguo wash her feet, he laughed and asked:

"When brother gets old, will Guoguo despise me?"

Guoguo looked confused, puzzled as she asked Mo Jingchun, "Why would Guoguo despise her brother?"

"Guoguo loves her brother~ Guoguo won't despise him~"

Mo Jingchun bent over, head lowered, his heart filled with joy.

After Guoguo finished speaking, she innocently asked: "Then... does brother love Guoguo?"

"Of course, brother absolutely loves Guoguo, and will always protect Guoguo like mom did."

"Brother~ brother~ what is a mom?"

Guoguo's unintentional question felt like a hammer to the chest, leaving Mo Jingchun breathless for a moment.

His hands paused momentarily as he washed Guoguo's feet.

Guoguo didn't notice that there were a few extra drops of tears mixed in with the foot water.

Bowing his head, Mo Jingchun, with a choked up voice, explained to Guoguo: "A mom is the person who brought Guoguo into this world, she's the one who loves Guoguo the most."

"Even more than brother?"

"Yes, even more than brother."

"But, why hasn't Guoguo ever seen mom?"

Wiping away his tears, Mo Jingchun lifted his head, rubbed Guoguo's head, and gently said: "Because mom went to the sky, she's always watching over brother and Guoguo from above."

"In the sky?"

Obviously, although Guoguo was smarter than other toddlers her age, she still couldn't understand what Mo Jingchun meant by saying "mom is in the sky."

In the little one's mind, the concept of a mom was still very vague.
