Tech Dominator Starts with Raising Kids

Chapter 37: Market Research

The next morning, Mo Jingchun was yawning continuously. As he carried his little sister, Candy, into the classroom, he just smiled in response to the thanks from his female classmates.

Mo Jingchun hadn't even taken ten steps in the classroom before his arms were empty, as the little one was scooped up by Li Xuanyu, who had white streaks in his hair despite his youth.

After thinking things over all night, it wasn't until Mo Jingchun finally reassessed some issues that he realized it was already 3:13 in the morning.

Woken by the alarm clock shortly after 7 a.m., he hadn't slept well at all, leaving him feeling groggy from the moment he woke up.

After attending a class in the morning, Mo Jingchun was struggling to keep his eyes open, almost dozing off. Yet, he didn't dare sleep during class for fear of being caught by the student council through the windows.

He barely made it to noon and after having lunch with the little one, he collapsed and napped. By the time afternoon classes began, he was somewhat more awake, though still tired, albeit less exaggerated than in the morning.

Nevertheless, during afternoon classes, Mo Jingchun was absent-minded, his thoughts far from the classroom.

Mo Jingchun kept hoping time would fly by so he could head back and conduct market research online. He was eager to know whether a smart anti-shake spoon like this would have a market, and whether any patients would be willing to pay for it.

Only if the spoon proved to be profitable would Mo Jingchun spend more time and energy developing it. Otherwise, why bother creating a spoon that no one would buy?

Was he overflowing with money with nowhere to spend it?

Most importantly of all, Mo Jingchun wanted to give his sister, Candy, a better life!

If you're powerless, that's one thing. But if you have the ability, why not make an effort to provide the best living and learning conditions for your sister!

"What's going on with Mo Jingchun today? He's been so out of it. I called him just now, but he seemed like he didn't even hear me, just running out with his head down."

After the last class ended in the afternoon, seeing Mo Jingchun sprinting out, the women packing their bags began discussing among themselves.

"I guess Candy was a bit restless last night, and Mo Jingchun didn't sleep well. I saw Mo Jingchun dozing off all morning, almost falling asleep on his desk."

"Should we mention it to the counselor?"

"Maybe not. Let's see how it goes tomorrow. Perhaps Lanlan is right, and it's just that Mo Jingchun didn't sleep well last night. Isn't it normal to lose sleep often when taking care of a child?"

"Well... Let's see how things are tomorrow." Yang Xiaoyu shrugged.

Outside, with the sky barely darkening, a well-fed little one nestled in Mo Jingchun's arms stubbornly refused to play by herself on the bed. So, with no other choice, Mo Jingchun held her while using a laptop to search for all sorts of information on smart anti-shake spoons and existing products online.

Throughout the night, Mo Jingchun persistently searched for materials online. At around nine, the little one fell asleep in Mo Jingchun's arms, even drooling a patch on his chest. If he hadn't felt his clothes getting wet, he wouldn't have noticed when she fell asleep.

Carefully, Mo Jingchun placed Candy on the bed, covering her with the blanket to prevent her from catching a cold in the cooler weather.

Mo Jingchun continued to research literature and information on anti-shake spoons on various e-commerce platforms until after 10 p.m.

Through his research, Mo Jingchun concluded that there are quite a few anti-shake spoons on the market, but those that are smart anti-shake spoons start at a minimum price of 2,315 yuan, with the most expensive exceeding ten thousand US dollars, and it's currently the best-performing anti-shake spoon available.

As for those priced under a thousand yuan with the highest sales, they all achieve anti-shaking through mechanical means, and some so-called anti-shake spoons only add a handle to a regular spoon while their prices soar five to eight times higher compared to before.

These so-called anti-shake spoons are merely using the "anti-shake" label to sell ordinary spoons.

Mo Jingchun read reviews of some of the best-selling anti-shake spoons, filled with all sorts of grievances.

Even with the best and most expensive smart anti-shake spoon, Mo Jingchun had to concede the strength of the American merchants' research teams.

According to many reviewers, as long as the hand tremors weren't too exaggerated and stayed within a 10-centimeter range, the food in the spoon wouldn't easily spill. However, testing the spoon with water yielded less than satisfactory results.

A spoonful of water resulted in less than one-third reaching the mouth, with over two-thirds of the water shaking onto the table during testing.

Nonetheless, this didn't negate the strength of this smart anti-shake spoon!

The only thing that ordinary people couldn't accept was probably its price. If the price of this smart anti-shake spoon were more affordable, dropping from over ten thousand US dollars to between two and three thousand yuan, Mo Jingchun believed it would sell explodingly online, especially in Xia Country!

Within an acceptable price range, Xia Country never lacks children willing to show filial piety to their parents.

But Mo Jingchun was different; he didn't need to worry about the software research costs at all. The main costs were materials and internal chips, and even the most expensive chips weren't actually that costly. Since he didn't require such high-level chips, Mo Jingchun believed that using domestically-produced 28-nanometer chips would be more than sufficient. Smart anti-shake spoons don't require the computing power or multithreaded, multicore cooperation that smartphones do.

Mo Jingchun is not only imaginative but also proactive!

He takes immediate action, and from the next day onwards, every day after class and lunch with his sister Candy, he would invariably head to the most popular spot on the Jing University campus - the school library!

According to school rules, undergraduate students can borrow up to five books from the library with their campus ID card, to be returned within a month, with the possibility of renewing online up to three times.

Every day, without fail, Mo Jingchun would go to the school library to borrow and read books related to mechanics, jotting down any perplexing questions.

As time passed, half a month later, the preliminary design draft for Mo Jingchun's smart anti-shake spoon was completed, yet Mo Jingchun had also accumulated dozens of pages of mechanical questions.

If these problems aren't resolved, then no matter how strong the posture stabilization algorithm is, without hardware support, it will seem weak and ineffective.
