Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone

Chapter 124: Drive the Tiger to Devour the Wolf Fierce Ant Swarm Summoning Technique!

Watching as the main force of the Fierce Ants was about to pour out of the nest, Fang Zhou immediately carried the remaining Kobold corpses to the edge of the Hill Ore Vein, ready to execute step two: divert the disaster!

CRACK.

CRACK.

The scraping sound of carapaces against earth and stone grew louder and louder.

Under Fang Zhou's expectant gaze, a group of enormous Fierce Ants broke through the ground.

Their antennae swung back and forth, quickly locking onto Fang Zhou's position. To be precise, they locked onto the Kobold corpses in his hands, which were covered in Ant Queen pheromones and Slime Sweet Juice.

RUMBLE.

These Fierce Ants scrambled forward on their six limbs, charging directly toward Fang Zhou.

Seeing this, Fang Zhou immediately cast the [Bone Wings] skill. A pair of large, bony wings instantly blossomed from his back. He leaped lightly from the hill, using the momentum from his glide to speed toward the Kobold camp.

In mid-air, Fang Zhou held the remaining three or four Kobold corpses with one hand, while persistently beating the Frog Drum with the other.

Driven mad by the stimulus of multiple potent baits, the Fierce Ants lost all reason and desperately followed Fang Zhou's trail out of the Hill Ore Vein. During the chase, a dozen or so Fierce Ants stumbled from their excessive speed, breaking bones and tearing muscles. However, hundreds of their frenzied kin trampled over their bodies, continuing the relentless pursuit.

After gliding down the hill, Fang Zhou ran toward the Kobold camp without a single look back. His Agility Attribute was already close to 6, making him much faster than these Fierce Ants, so he naturally wasn't worried about being caught. He even deliberately slowed down at times, dropping a Kobold corpse or two as a marker to ensure these instinct-driven creatures didn't stray from the intended path.

The situation quickly devolved into a game of cat and mouse, a scenario in which Fang Zhou excelled. Under his expert kiting, the swarming Fierce Ants advanced with an unstoppable aura, crushing rocks, trees, and mounds in their path. They kicked up vast clouds of dust, creating a grand and shocking scene.

The straight-line distance from the open-pit Hill Ore Vein to the Kobold camp was not very far. Such noise and chaos were impossible to ignore and soon alerted the Kobolds in the camp. Under the orders of the Kobold Warlock leader, several strong Kobold Scouts quickly climbed the watchtowers, cautiously peering toward the source of the sound.

WOOF WOOF WOOF!

When they saw hundreds of Fierce Ants surging toward them like a tidal wave, they were all terrified. They stood frozen in place, their limbs trembling. Only the most alert among them managed to let out a short, frantic bark, warning its kin of the impending disaster.

AWOOO!

Upon hearing the warning, the Kobold Warlock leader's expression changed dramatically. It let out a deafening roar toward the sky, plunging the once calm and orderly camp into frantic chaos. The Kobolds scrambled desperately, seeking defensive measures to fend off the sudden, terrifying assault.

From above, a black tide could be seen advancing toward the Kobold camp. The rustling sounds rose and fell in endless, chaotic waves. The air itself seemed thick with the pungent, foul stench characteristic of the Fierce Ants. The stench wafted on the wind, assailing the Kobolds' sensitive noses and heightening their anxiety.

The Kobold Warlock leader ascended a watchtower. From there, it saw a legion of hundreds of giant ants surging toward the camp, and the ground itself seemed to pulsate with a strange, wave-like motion. The rustling grew incessant, like a vast army charging in unison. It generated a terrifying aura that surged forward, fierce and powerful like a tidal wave.

GULP!

It silently swallowed, glaring furiously at Fang Zhou, who was relentlessly guiding the direction of the Fierce Ant swarm. With its intelligence, it could naturally see that the culprit behind this ant tide was the human running at lightning speed. It was this cunning, sly human who had lured this group of Fierce Ants, creatures that rarely left their nest, from the underground to its own camp.

Though it didn't know how Fang Zhou had managed it, this didn't stop the Kobold Warlock, who hated him to the bone, from marking him for death.

Unfortunately, the Kobold Warlock leader had too little time to react. Now, its only option was to command its tribe to make a final stand and defend the camp.

Within the camp, many Kobolds showed faint signs of fear, their throats working as they swallowed nervously. They felt their bodies grow stiff and their muscles tighten. Their limbs trembled slightly, refusing to obey. Most of the Kobolds had encountered, and even personally killed, Fierce Ants before, but that was always when they had the numerical advantage. The Kobolds had always outnumbered the Fierce Ants.

This time, however, thanks to the lure of that accursed human, the Fierce Ants far outnumbered them. Facing the immense, savage momentum of several hundred Fierce Ants charging at once, they seemed pathetically small and powerless. The dozen or so elite Middle Rank Kobold Apprentices in the camp all wore grave expressions, their breathing growing ragged as they clenched their fists.

AWOOO WOOF!

Seeing his forces' morale waver before the battle even began, the Kobold Warlock leader let out a furious howl to the sky and forcefully waved its Bone Staff.

Bloodthirsty Skill!

A blood-red glow rose from its staff, sweeping over the Kobolds like a tide. The magic immediately took effect, forcibly drawing out their latent bloodlust and converting it into a will to fight. The effect spread from one Kobold to the next, linking them all. Soon, the Kobolds who had been confused and frightened found their courage and were no longer afraid.

The ant tide rapidly approached, the rustling noise growing ever louder. All the Kobolds could now clearly see the forms of the Fierce Ants. But empowered by the Bloodthirsty Skill, they were fearless. Their eyes were bloodshot, their gazes fixed on the oncoming swarm and on Fang Zhou, who ran at the very front.

Witnessing the Kobold camp on high alert and in full battle formation, Fang Zhou was not disappointed in the slightest. In fact, his smile only widened. For him, the key to this battle was to make the Fierce Ants and Kobolds exhaust one another, weakening their forces as much as possible. Mutual annihilation was the best possible outcome.

He was now gradually approaching the Kobolds' attack range. Not far ahead, snarling, hostile Kobold Stone Throwers were staring intently at him. Behind him, the dense, bloodthirsty army of Fierce Ants pressed closer with every step. With a wolf ahead and a tiger behind, Fang Zhou's expression remained calm and fearless. His mind was as clear as a mirror.

Everything was proceeding as he had anticipated.

The route from the Hill Ore Vein to the Kobold camp was a steep downhill stretch. His position relative to the Kobold camp was a high point, which gave Fang Zhou an unparalleled geographical advantage. He could utilize the explosive power of his Bone Wings at any moment to instantly accelerate and escape the Kobolds' field of fire.
