Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone

Chapter 147: Magic Energy Airship Abundant Spoils of War

DING! At that moment, the hunting recorder emitted a soft chime.

Fang Zhou looked down and found it was Pegasus Knight Instructor Wang Tao calling him.

After answering the call, Wang Tao smiled and congratulated Fang Zhou before saying, "Fang Zhou, you've gone so deep into the Cave that you're quite far from the fortress and not on the same route as the other cadets. Our Magic Energy Airship plans to pick up the other cadets along the way first, and then come for you last. Is that alright?"

Fang Zhou naturally had no objections; it simply meant waiting a bit longer. While he waited under the protection of his Skeleton Army, he immersed his consciousness into his Skeleton Clone and began another round of clearing out enemies to upgrade.

In an hour, after absorbing the Corpse Essence from over a dozen Skeleton Warriors and Zombies, the Four-dimensional Attributes of his Skeleton Clone had increased considerably. More importantly, his Skeleton Monarch skill could now enslave one more skeleton minion.

Standing on a hilltop, Fang Zhou gazed into the distance.

With the help of the Berserker Heroic Spirit Olaf and 37 skeleton minions for cannon fodder, I can attempt to explore even deeper.

Recently, he and his Skeleton Team had almost completely swept the area clean of Undead Creatures, greatly reducing his hunting efficiency.

It's time to find a brand new hunting ground!

Having made up his mind, Fang Zhou controlled his Clone, leading his vast Skeleton Team toward an area with a higher concentration of the blood-red moonlight.

While his clone was engrossed in hunting and devouring, a sudden rumble erupted in the sky near his main body.

Fang Zhou immediately snapped back to his senses, shifting his attention to his physical body.

Looking up into the distance, he saw a black dot rapidly approaching amid a loud roar.

It's the Magic Energy Airship!

Fang Zhou watched in awe as the behemoth approached from the sky.

The Magic Energy Airship, a product of the Era of Myth, looked like a fantastical creation that had crossed over from the future. Its design blended classical and sci-fi elements, its massive frame glistening with a metallic sheen.

Its main hull was constructed from a high-strength, lightweight alloy and covered with a special magic energy-resistant coating to protect the vessel from harsh weather and fluctuations in magic power. It was also adorned with rings of intricate runes that were not only decorative but also crucial for guiding and stabilizing the flow of Magic Energy.

Since humanity entered the Era of Myth, their original power systems had become unsuitable for the drastically altered, high-energy environment. Thankfully, humans are an incredibly adaptable species. Thanks to the relentless efforts of countless scientists, the Human Alliance successfully developed airships powered by Magic Energy.

The one before Fang Zhou was the most classic model: a transport airship. He had heard that on the Human-Demon Battlefield, there were many different models of combat airships. It was the existence of these war machines that allowed humanity to contend with countless powerful Flying Demons for air supremacy, holding their own high in the sky.

The airship hovered above Fang Zhou. A moment later, Instructor Wang Tao emerged from it, riding his Silver Pegasus.

Landing on the open-air mine, Instructor Wang looked at the dozen or so skeletons behind Fang Zhou carrying huge bundles and shook his head with a laugh. "Fang Zhou, oh Fang Zhou. I came to pick you up, but I didn't expect you to have acquired so much loot!"

A bit embarrassed, Fang Zhou said, "My apologies for the trouble, Instructor Wang."

Wang Tao waved his hand and sighed. "My spatial storage item was temporarily handed over to the military academy to hold General Ning Feihu's Crystal Coffin. I can't help you store these now, so we'll have to rely on the airship."

He activated his personal terminal and said to the pilot, "Please activate the Floating Array. Fang Zhou has some loot that needs to be loaded aboard."

The top and bottom of the airship were equipped with symmetrical Floating Arrays. When activated, these arrays created an invisible force field that made the airship appear to float on air, maintaining its stability even at low speeds or while moored. They could also be used to transport cargo, greatly enhancing the airship's carrying capacity.

Soon, following the pilot's actions, the hovering airship opened a small hatch on its underside. A powerful attractive force emanated from it, enveloping Fang Zhou and his Skeleton Army.

Wang Tao reminded him, "Fang Zhou, this is the Magic Energy Airship's Floating Array, used specifically for moving heavy objects. Don't resist. Just go with the force and float slowly upwards."

Fang Zhou nodded. Having glided through the sky with his bone wings before, he was familiar with the sensation.

With the help of the Floating Array, Fang Zhou quickly boarded the Magic Energy Airship along with his dozen or so bundles of loot.

The entrance opened into a spacious cargo hold, the interior of which was divided into multiple modular storage areas. Each area was equipped with an automated loading and unloading system that could precisely move and secure cargo. Fang Zhou's loot was smoothly transferred into these areas, with each bundle marked with its origin and a simple category label.

Afterward, he followed Instructor Wang into the passenger cabin, which was already filled with the elite cadets who had participated in the Cave Hunting.

Wang Tao turned to Fang Zhou and said, "This time, the military academy sent a total of five Magic Energy Airships to Cave No. 1 to bring you cadets back. Now that you're aboard, all the cadets from the Cave have been gathered. We're preparing to accelerate for the return to the fortress, so it might get a bit bumpy. Fang Zhou, find a seat quickly."

Fang Zhou saluted Instructor Wang and watched him leave the passenger cabin. When he turned around to find an empty seat, he noticed dozens of cadets in the cabin staring at him with shocked expressions.

Fang Zhou had grown accustomed to such shocked gazes. He calmly nodded at the others, then noticed a small figure in the back waving eagerly at him with both hands.

It was Meng Hongzhuang.

Fang Zhou smiled slightly and walked toward his overachieving little assistant.

When he reached Meng Hongzhuang and was about to greet her, she yanked him down into the seat beside her.

Her large eyes blinked as she scanned him from head to toe as if he were some kind of freak. Then, she asked incredulously, "Lord Fang, you really didn't get hurt at all?!"

Fang Zhou cleared his throat, looking helplessly at the overly dramatic Meng Hongzhuang.

With the thorough protection of the Skeleton Army, how could I have even had a chance to get hurt?

Meng Hongzhuang's twin ponytails drooped as she said listlessly, "You're a total freak!

"Forget that your points are so much higher than mine; your strength was always way beyond mine to begin with.

"And forget that you have so much loot; it's the law of this world that the strong take all.

"But the real problem is that after three grueling days in the Cave, you don't have a single scratch and you're still brimming with energy! That's just infuriating!"
