Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone

Chapter 211: Cannon Fodder's Comeback Racial Aura Skills

With a hint of curiosity and anticipation, Gu Zhiqiu looked at Fang Zhou and voiced his confusion.

Fang Zhou smiled slightly, casually explaining, "I had an epiphany during Meditation earlier and successfully deduced a Skill that can enhance Skeletons, a type of undead from the Skeleton Series. So, I got an itch to try it out and summoned two Skeletons to see the effect. Sorry about that, I didn't mean to disturb you."

HISS!

Upon hearing Fang Zhou's reply, Gu Zhiqiu took a sharp breath, his calm demeanor finally cracking.

What kind of person says something so utterly perverse! You can deduce Skills during Meditation? Do you really think you're the Undead Saint Child?!

Gu Zhiqiu closely examined the Giant Shield and Long Spear in the two Skeletons' hands. Unwilling to give up, he asked, "Can I test their combat prowess?"

Fang Zhou was taken aback. He hadn't expected this gentle-mannered Storm Mage to actually volunteer for a beating. However, since a willing test subject had delivered himself to his doorstep, Fang Zhou was more than happy to oblige.

He made a gesture and said, "Please. But do be careful."

After receiving Fang Zhou's approval, Gu Zhiqiu first turned his attention to the Skeleton wielding the Giant Shield. He didn't know much about Skeletons as Undead Creatures. It was only because Fang Zhou, an Undead Mage with his wild and unconventional methods, had burst onto the scene at Sea City Military Academy these past few months. Gu Zhiqiu, who had always been rather conceited and had silently considered Fang Zhou his greatest rival, had only then started to cram knowledge about Undead Mages and their creatures.

To be honest, the Skeleton Army that Fang Zhou had summoned before was truly invincible against the first-year Seed Students. They were an unstoppable force. This was a point that neither he, in all his pride, nor the arrogant Ye Fan would or could deny.

However, the invincibility of Fang Zhou's Skeleton Army was built on two things: their overwhelming numbers and the series of Beneficial Skills provided by Fang Zhou, history's most brilliant Undead Mage. Putting aside their numbers and considering only their quality, a single Middle Rank Apprentice Skeleton wouldn't scare him in the slightest, even though he himself was only a Lower Rank Apprentice.

As the number four Seed Student of the first-year class at Sea City Military Academy, Gu Zhiqiu considered himself the strongest and most talented traditional Mage, second only to non-traditional Magic Professionals like Meng Hongzhuang and Fang Zhou. In terms of individual strength, he believed that a mere Skeleton, universally considered the trashiest of Undead Creatures, could be instantly killed with a single strike as long as he accurately hit the Soul Fire within its skull.

Even though this Skeleton wielded a seemingly solid giant Bone Shield, Gu Zhiqiu didn't believe for a second that it could withstand his fierce attacks.

With this in mind, Gu Zhiqiu took a deep breath as the Wind Element surged between his palms. Then, a low spell echoed from his lips, "Chain Wind Energy Missile!"

In an instant, the air seemed to tear apart. Several blue orbs imbued with Storm Power whistled through the air. They spiraled with a piercing sound as they hurtled toward the Giant Shield Skeleton.

These missiles were the product of Gu Zhiqiu's painstaking Cultivation. Each missile had been honed to the level of Mastery, and their power was not to be underestimated. Even during the practical training in the underground training grounds that afternoon, the solid Scale Armor of those Little Inferior Demons couldn't withstand his continuous barrage.

However, when these Chain Wind Energy Missiles struck the seemingly fragile Bone Shield, it was like colliding with the hardest substance in the world. The orbs of light burst one by one, leaving only faint scratches on the Bone Shield, accompanied by a sprinkle of drifting bone fragments.

Gu Zhiqiu's expression froze. His outstretched fingers trembled slightly, his entire body rigid.

Unwilling to concede, he fired another, even larger, barrage of Chain Wind Energy Missiles. Yet the result was the same as before; aside from more bone fragments dancing in the air, he had achieved nothing.

The Giant Shield Skeleton, holding its Bone Shield, stood its ground like a bastion of steel, completely unshaken.

At this moment, the other Seed Students in the Concentration Meditation Room were startled by the noise of the engagement and were roused from their meditative states. They watched as Gu Zhiqiu's signature move, the once-invincible Chain Wind Energy Missile, was rendered so utterly helpless against a single Giant Shield Skeleton that Fang Zhou had casually summoned.

The Seed Students, who had gathered around Fang Zhou and Gu Zhiqiu to watch, all wore looks of sheer disbelief. Their gasps of astonishment echoed through the Concentration Meditation Room, all of them stunned by the Giant Shield Skeleton's Defense Power.

They all wondered the same thing: how could an Apprentice-level Skeleton summoned by Fang Zhou wield weapons? And why was its Defense Power so immense that it could completely ignore Gu Zhiqiu's continuous barrage of Chain Wind Energy Missiles?

Meng Hongzhuang, standing at the very front of the crowd, watched with wide eyes. She covered her small mouth, an expression on her face as if she were questioning her very existence.

Just this morning during the arena challenge, among the Skeleton Army Fang Zhou had summoned, only the one with the double axe was obviously more formidable in both size and aura. The other Skeletons were all unarmed and bare-handed.

How, in just half a day, had Fang Zhou's Skeletons acquired their own bone armaments? Their combat power had clearly taken another massive leap.

Meng Hongzhuang felt a secret sense of relief. At least she hadn't let her Giant Bear, Vini, and her Big Mountain Cat, Nidalee, witness the evolution of Fang Zhou's Skeletons with their own eyes.
