Fang Zhou gathered his thoughts and began, "Instructor Xinyan, we have an old saying in the Longxia Federation: a journey of one hundred miles is only half-complete at the ninety-mile mark. Even though our previous experiments proved that converting the bottle's patterns into practical skills is as hard as reaching for the heavens, why not keep this black Magic Bottle in the lab? You could analyze it at your leisure whenever you have free time."
He gently took Instructor Su Xinyan's delicate hand, his expression full of sincerity. "Instructor Xinyan," he continued, "for a talented Undead Mage like you who reached the Golden Tier at such a young age, now is the perfect time to be open-minded and absorb all you can. For my sake, for your sake, and for all Undead Mages… please, you must see this through."
Under Fang Zhou's relentless barrage of compliments, Instructor Su Xinyan looked a little dazed. A blush rose on her cheeks, as captivatingly beautiful as clouds dyed by the evening glow.
Watching her bewildered expression, Fang Zhou was secretly delighted. He knew this was the perfect time to strike while the iron was hot.
Without hesitation, he picked up the black Magic Bottle from the lab table and gently pressed it into Su Xinyan's palm.
"Instructor Xinyan, since you've agreed, this Magic Bottle is yours. I look forward to your good news!"
Deciding to quit while he was ahead, Fang Zhou tried to slip out of the lab before Su Xinyan could fully recover from the praise. He hoped to establish an indisputable fact about the black Magic Bottle's ownership.
But Su Xinyan, a high-tier Golden Tier Undead Mage, was not so easily fooled. She quickly snapped out of his sweet talk, a flash of embarrassed anger in her eyes. She grabbed Fang Zhou's left arm with a grip so strong it sent a sharp pain through him. Her voice, however, held a teasing pout. "You little flatterer, get back here! Don't think a few pretty words will let you off the hook so easily."
Fang Zhou froze, his escape attempt thwarted. He reluctantly stopped and turned around, putting on a calm facade. He looked at Su Xinyan with feigned innocence and asked, "What's the matter, Instructor Xinyan? Do you have more instructions for me?"
Instructor Su Xinyan now realized that Fang Zhou had cleverly played her. A shy blush spread across her cheeks, and her full chest rose and fell sharply. After a good while, she finally managed to compose herself.
She grabbed Fang Zhou's hand, which was holding the black Magic Bottle, and fiercely shoved it back at him. "Here, you take it," she said. "I don't want your useless thing."
Fang Zhou blinked at her, his voice tinged with disappointment. "Instructor Xinyan, you don't want to research this black Magic Bottle anymore? Once it's in my hands, you won't be getting it back."
At this, Su Xinyan snorted softly, her fingers flying across the lab's control screen. In an instant, the holographic projection of the black Magic Bottle they had recorded earlier materialized before them.
"You idiot! I already scanned and saved all of its patterns using my equipment, so I don't need to keep the physical object around. It's useless to me anyway, so you might as well take it. Maybe you can find a use for it."
The great weight that had been pressing on Fang Zhou's heart finally lifted, realizing she hadn't truly given up.
He gently shook the black Magic Bottle in his hand. "In that case, Instructor Xinyan, would you care to bestow it with a name?"
Su Xinyan frowned slightly at his words, gently twirling one of her slender, pale fingers. After a moment's thought, she said, "The patterns on this black Magic Bottle are closely linked to the power of mist. Since it's from the Naraku Civilization, how about we call it the Naraku Mist Bottle?"
Fang Zhou fell silent for a moment, inwardly accepting the fact that Instructor Su Xinyan, just like him, was terrible at naming things. He felt the name was somehow lacking; it didn't do justice to all the effort they had put in.
He suggested in the gentlest tone possible, "That name seems a bit... plain. It lacks a certain poetic or mysterious quality. Perhaps we could think it over and find something that better reflects its nature?"
Hearing this, Instructor Su Xinyan's fine eyebrows shot up as she unconsciously put her hands on her hips. A blush of annoyed embarrassment bloomed on her cheeks. "Hmph! You're the one who's plain," she huffed. "If you're not satisfied, you can name it yourself. It's not like I'm the one who's going to use it."
An inadvertent glance at the stunning curves of Su Xinyan's figure, accentuated by her pose, sent a jolt of admiration through Fang Zhou, but he quickly regained his composure.
He cleared his throat and said seriously, "In that case, how about we call it the Celestial Curtain Magic Bottle? If we eventually develop a new skill from it, we can call it the Undead Sky Screen. What do you think, Instructor Xinyan?"
Upon hearing his suggestion, Su Xinyan's beautiful eyes lit up, but she still feigned disdain and pouted. "It's clearly mist, but you want to call it a 'Celestial Curtain'? That's a bit ostentatious."
Fang Zhou just smiled gently, unbothered by her obviously insincere critique. "Since you don't have a better suggestion, Instructor, let's settle on that."
As Fang Zhou's words echoed through the lab, a new page quietly turned in the Marvels section of his attribute panel.
