Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone

Chapter 248: Power Surge Another Skills Fusion!

As he brandished his Long Spear, Fang Zhou gave the order for his entire army to charge. The Skeleton Servants under his command immediately surged forward like a tidal wave, advancing into the distance. This time, he didn't give them a specific target, merely instructing them to advance toward the deeper regions where the blood-red moonlight was more intense and mysterious.

With a crisp whistle through the air, Fang Zhou swung his Long Spear again, effortlessly piercing a staggering zombie. He felt the vast power gap between himself and these ordinary zombies and couldn't help but shake his head, feeling a little listless.

To these lower-tier Black Iron Undead Creatures, Fang Zhou's power was on a completely different level. With or without the buff from his [Victory Battle Cry] skill, these zombies were nearly defenseless before him; a single thrust of his spear was enough to kill them.

However, despite the disparity in power, Fang Zhou could still sense a subtle change. His attack and movement speed seemed to have improved, but the enhancement felt insignificant to him.

Resigned, he continued his hunt, using the Soul Link from his Skeleton Monarch skill to observe the performance of the Skeleton Squads enhanced by [Victory Battle Cry].

Fang Zhou had already discovered that a major advantage of the [Victory Battle Cry] skill was its long-lasting effect. The buff granted by the skill remained active on his Skeleton Warriors even after they had moved a considerable distance away from him. This allowed Fang Zhou to command his Undead Army with greater ease, letting them advance freely across the death-filled land.

Fang Zhou's gaze passed through the Soul Link, watching his Skeleton Army. They moved like swift gray shadows, advancing rapidly across the land illuminated by the blood-red moonlight. The light of [Victory Battle Cry] flickered within the bones of each skeleton, granting them exceptional strength and agility.

Through his Perception, Fang Zhou saw Skeleton Team No. 1 engage a staggering zombie in a direct confrontation. The zombie was large and menacing, but under the enhancement from [Victory Battle Cry], the Skeleton Team was clearly faster. This left the zombie swinging its stiff arms in futility, unable to touch any of its targets.

The Skeleton Team adopted a kiting tactic, using their superior mobility to maintain distance from the enemy while constantly harassing it with attacks. This tactic was particularly effective against slow enemies like zombies. With the speed boost from the [Victory Battle Cry] skill, the zombie—already slower than Skeleton Warriors of the same tier—seemed utterly clumsy and powerless. It could only watch helplessly as the skeletons weaved nimbly around it.

Following the pre-arranged tactical model Fang Zhou had devised, Skeleton Team No. 1 immediately requested support from the other Skeleton Teams.

However, unlike before, the zombie had become a living target for the Skeleton Archer's precise shots. With the support of the [Victory Battle Cry] skill, the Skeleton Archer and the other three melee-type Skeleton Warriors experienced a significant boost in not only their Attack Power but also their attack frequency. This meant their every attack could deal substantial damage, enough to penetrate the zombie's defensive skin.

As the battle progressed, the Skeleton Archer's arrows fell as densely as rain. The arrowheads glowed with a cold light, and each shot struck the zombie's vital points on its head and legs with unerring accuracy. The three melee-type Skeleton Warriors' attacks also became significantly more powerful and frequent. Even the zombie's seemingly impervious skin was gouged with deep scars from their assaults.

At the same time, the Giant Shield Skeleton Warrior, acting as the main defender, also had its Defense Power significantly enhanced by the [Victory Battle Cry] skill. It stood at the vanguard, firmly holding a solid Bone Shield and unwaveringly fending off each of the zombie's attacks. For the duration of [Victory Battle Cry], it could just barely withstand the zombie's regular attacks, creating openings for its teammates to strike.

Fang Zhou keenly perceived this change. His Soul Fire flickered, and he immediately adjusted his tactical deployment through the Soul Link. He ordered the Giant Shield Skeleton Warrior to hold the line while the Long Spear Skeleton Warrior and Great Sword Skeleton Warrior flanked the zombie from both sides, assailing it with continuous strikes. This divided the zombie's attention, forcing it to contend with attacks from multiple directions and putting it on the defensive.

This was an experiment. Fang Zhou's gaze was locked on the battlefield, his mind filled with anticipation. He wanted to test a bold idea: He wanted to see if Skeleton Team No. 1, buffed by [Victory Battle Cry], could defeat the staggering zombie using only its frontal assault capabilities.

If the experiment failed, the worst that could happen was Team No. 1 getting wiped out. It's not like it would be a big deal for me, anyway. The four Skeleton Warriors of Team No. 1 have been replaced many times already.

Fortunately, despite Fang Zhou having mentally prepared for the worst, the final result was, of course, a pleasing one.

Under Fang Zhou's command, the Skeleton Warriors of Team No. 1 did not adopt their usual kiting tactics. Instead, they charged directly at their opponent to engage in a frontal confrontation.
