Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone

Chapter 37: Su Xinyan's Gift [Resurrection of the Dead] Skill

Through this connection, Su Xinyan could enhance her link to the Undead Realm, which would greatly benefit her subsequent cultivation speed and even her combat ability. Meanwhile, the skeletal Clone could intercept a portion of Spiritual Power and knowledge during the Apostle's Meditation, converting it into Soul Power and Skill Materials. Once the skeletal Clone's strength improved to a certain level, it could even communicate with the Apostle through their mysterious connection.

Fang Zhou was shocked, but with Su Xinyan right beside him, he knew he would have to wait until he returned to his dormitory to research all of this.

At this moment, Su Xinyan, who had practically turned into a Steam Girl from embarrassment, finally managed to compose herself, her expression returning to normal.

Having successfully broken through to the Gold rank, Su Xinyan, with her penchant for showing off, should have been boasting nonstop. Yet, for some reason, she felt humbled in Fang Zhou's presence.

Su Xinyan opened her personal terminal and sent Fang Zhou a confidential file. She cleared her throat and said in a serious tone, "Fang Zhou, I won't waste words on gratitude.

"This document contains the insights I've gathered on the Undead Mage Profession since my Awakening. It records all my personal observations and the new Skills I've deduced. During the Apprentice Stage, I deduced a Healing Magic called 'Resurrection of the Dead.' I haven't had a chance to upload it to the Human Alliance Skill Library yet, but perhaps it can give you some inspiration.

"Furthermore, regarding the 'Skeleton King Meditation Method,' don't rush to upload it yet. I'm trying to secure a related research project for you. If I succeed, you'll be able to receive a larger reward of contribution points through the project funding."

Fang Zhou had envied Ye Fan's Demon Hunter project group for a long time, and his face lit up with joy at her words.

He said in a deep voice, "Thank you, Instructor Su. I will study it carefully."

Su Xinyan thought for a moment before adding, "Your performance on the Simulation Battlefield today was outstanding. Getting on the military academy's seed candidate list should be no problem. But don't get complacent; there's a more intense Sequence Competition coming up. You must do your best to become the number one seed. It will greatly enhance your privileges and resources, which will be a huge benefit to your personal growth."

"Sequence Competition?" Fang Zhou asked, puzzled.

Su Xinyan explained, "According to Sea City Military Academy's standard practice, 200 seed candidates will be selected over the next month based on their performance on the Simulation Battlefield. Afterward, these 200 individuals will go through the Sequence Competition to determine the final 100 seeds and their respective rankings. The Sequence Competition takes various forms, such as comprehensive evaluations, arena matches, live combat missions, and so on. With your strength, becoming a military academy seed is no problem, but to become the one-in-a-million number one seed, you can't afford to be the slightest bit careless."

Fang Zhou nodded thoughtfully.

Su Xinyan waved a hand at him. "If there's nothing else, you should head back. I need to enter secluded cultivation for a few days to consolidate my new rank. I'll find you afterward. Tomorrow's Middle Rank Apprentice Simulation Battlefield is team mode. It's much more difficult, so make sure you do well."

Fang Zhou saluted Su Xinyan and turned to leave.

Just then, Su Xinyan suddenly remembered something, and a blush crept onto her beautiful face. Her eyes darted away as she said in a wavering tone, "By the way, Fang Zhou! From now on, don't you ever mention that 'silver hair' or 'one month and a few days' thing again."

With his back to her, a smile touched the corners of Fang Zhou's mouth.

This Instructor Su might have the looks of a mature woman, but her personality is surprisingly cute.

He nodded silently and walked straight out of the office.

Back in his dorm, Fang Zhou lay on his bed and sighed softly. He had challenged four difficulty levels on the Simulation Battlefield, talked with Su Xinyan for a long time, and processed the changes to his attribute panel. The day's events had left him mentally exhausted.

After resting for a while, Fang Zhou walked into the bathroom. The sound of splashing water echoed as steam filled the air. After drying off, he changed into clean, loose clothes. He felt as if a layer of dust had been washed away, leaving his mind sharp and clear.

Sitting on his bed, Fang Zhou focused his attention on the skeletal Clone. Opening his attribute bar, he was delighted to see his Soul Power had increased from 35 to 36. This was undoubtedly intercepted during Su Xinyan's Meditation. Now, in addition to killing, he had another stable method for acquiring Soul Power.

Fang Zhou studied the Apostle function for a while longer but was disappointed to find that he couldn't perform any other operations for the time being. His only Apostle was a Golden Tier expert, while his Clone was merely Lower Black Iron-rank. The power gap between them was simply too vast.

Still, Fang Zhou had a feeling that the Apostle function held immense untapped potential.

The only thing he could do now was to increase the Clone's strength as quickly as possible.

At this thought, his Soul Fire flickered. He expertly gripped the skeletal Long Spear and resumed his heavy-footed sweep of the Upper Apprentice-rank Skeletons.

Without realizing it, Fang Zhou ventured deeper into the Burial Wilderness. The crimson moonlight intensified, and the skeletal remains covering the ground grew more and more dense.

After casually dispatching another Skeleton, Fang Zhou suddenly froze. Just a few dozen meters ahead of him stood a robust Skeleton wielding a greatsword. It had armored bones. A Black Iron-rank Skeleton Warrior.

This was the first time Fang Zhou had encountered a Black Iron-rank Skeleton Warrior. It seemed he had finally reached the border between the territory of Apprentice-rank Skeletons and that of the Black Iron-rank Skeleton Warriors.

Gripping the sharp skeletal Long Spear in his hand, he gazed at the Skeleton Warrior brandishing its longsword menacingly. Fang Zhou felt an impulse to charge forward and skewer it with a single thrust of his spear. He took a slow breath, warning himself not to get carried away. He had to at least get his Brutal Strike Skill to the Black Iron rank before attempting to hunt these Skeleton Warriors.

His mind made up, Fang Zhou decisively changed direction and continued his sweep.

Two hours later, in his dormitory at Sea City Military Academy, Fang Zhou stretched his back. He nodded with satisfaction. At this rate, it would take less than a week to train Brutal Strike to an instinctive level of proficiency.

Seeing the dozens more Soul Power points he had accumulated, Fang Zhou decisively opened his personal terminal. He started reviewing the research notes on the Undead Mage Profession that Su Xinyan had given him. He soon located the Skill Su Xinyan had mentioned: 'Resurrection of the Dead.'

After reading the Skill's description, Fang Zhou's eyes lit up. Its effect was simple and brutally effective: it was a Healing Skill specifically for Undead Creatures, allowing the caster to replenish the Mana of their Undead Summoned Creatures. This way, as long as the caster had enough Spiritual Power, the combat endurance of their Undead Summoned Creatures would be drastically increased.

[Detection of learnable Skill Materials. Consume 10 Soul Power to quickly achieve Beginner proficiency.]

[Begin learning?]

Fang Zhou decided to learn it without hesitation.

Accompanied by the familiar Burst of Inspiration, he quickly grasped the principles behind the 'Resurrection of the Dead' Skill.
