Simulation Game: Crisis Management

Chapter 34: Securing First Blood

In an instant, the large screen on the stage of the ceremony split into two sections: one half was Wu Kang leading a team, and the other half was Gu Ji's Team Two from Dorm 7472.

Both sides simultaneously dispatched their demolition personnel, pulling a black hydraulic cutter from their backpacks and clamping it onto the chains on the large iron gate.

Gu Ji extended three fingers, counting down: "Three! Two! One!"

Snap!

The iron lock was instantly cut by the hydraulic cutter. Gao Bo, who had been preparing by the wall, kicked open the iron gate, charging inside with a rifle in hand, followed closely by Position Two, Li Zongxuan.

Once the two split apart quickly from left and right, Gu Ji, acting as Position Three, entered from the middle line.

"Left side secure!"

"Right side secure!"

After confirming there were no threats in the foyer, the rest of the team members began entering one after another.

When Gu Ji felt Jiang Hao pinch his arm from behind, he followed by pinching Gao Bo's arm, who "got the message" and continued moving forward down the corridor. Li Zongxuan, Gu Ji, and Jiang Hao followed suit, sticking close to the wall as they advanced rapidly and decisively.

This is called SOP: Standard Operating Procedure.

Different teams have different SOPs. Some teams like to tap each other's shoulders, some prefer a nudge with the elbow, and some opt for a pinch — all with the aim of notifying the teammates in front about the need to breach.

"Careful of the 'T' junction ahead, watch the windows."

Halfway down the corridor, Gu Ji suddenly whispered urgently.

The entire "Killing House" was a mini industrial area built inside the shooting range by the school. The walls were gray cement plasterboards, without a ceiling, and equipped with steel rails, pipes, and light racks above. This setup not only facilitated easy reassembly but also allowed cameras and people on the second floor to overlook the personnel movement and layout inside for tactical evaluation.

Upon hearing the reminder, Gao Bo began to slow his pace, cutting sharply to the left.

Before his eyes was indeed a 'T'-shaped corridor, with a door and a window on the right wall. He moved step by step towards the window, whispering: "Left side secure!"

"Right side secure!"

Li Zongxuan simultaneously confirmed his side of the 'T' junction and reflexively chuckled: "Impressive memory, Gu Ji!"

It's worth knowing.

From the moment they entered Mr. Sun's command room to the start of the operation, only a few minutes had passed. Most people were inclined to focus on the "terrorist danger points" marked in the intelligence, rarely remembering such details, especially inconspicuous places like windows!

"Stop the chatter, Gao Bo, watch your step."

Gu Ji didn't respond to the banter, even chastising Gao Bo.

Gao Bo glanced down and noticed he was subconsciously walking with a staggered gait.

In actual combat, this could destabilize his center of gravity, and while affecting shooting accuracy was a minor issue, falling at a critical moment could mean not just his demise but possibly the annihilation of the entire team.

The correct footwork should be to walk sideways like a crab, close to the wall.

He hurriedly gave Gu Ji a grateful look, almost making a fool of himself under the camera.

"Split into two groups for breaching: Gao Bo and I to the left, Fourth Brother and Big Brother to the right! Quickly!"

Gu Ji swiftly gestured with his left hand, urging the team forward.

Immediately, Team Two split at the 'T' junction. Gao Bo quickly circled around the window, sticking to the wall by the left-side door, while Gu Ji twisted the door handle, "Three! Two! One!"

Click, the door opened, and Gao Bo charged in.

Gu Ji followed closely, his muzzle swiftly pointing towards several workbenches and blind spots, "Clear."

As he spoke, he jabbed Gao Bo's shoulder with his elbow, who continued to advance.

Upon hearing Li Zongxuan's "clear" in the earpiece, he quickly double-tapped the tactical flashlight under his rifle, "Friendly identification alert!"

As Gao Bo moved forward, there were also two flashing lights on the edge of the right wall. He rounded the corner and suddenly a black muzzle appeared from the right — it was Fourth Brother and Big Brother!

It turned out that the partition between the two factory rooms was only halfway!

Fortunately, Gu Ji flashed his rifle light twice in advance; otherwise, in such a highly tense state, the two sides could have easily misfired upon encountering each other at the wall corner.

Gotta say, the school's new map layout really was devious!

Li Zongxuan and the others exchanged glances, with a flicker of surprise in their eyes. How was Gu Ji so proficient? Did he memorize the entire map?

Just in those few minutes in the command room?

My god!

If at the start they had the mindset of "promoting Gu Ji, letting him show off before the Special Police Unit leaders," after two rounds of command, they completely switched to one of 'faith', clearing their minds to follow Gu Ji's orders.

"Quickly regroup, converge on my position."

Gu Ji shouted twice, and all Team Two members immediately gathered with guns, quickly assembling in front of a large double door. The "demolition" team once again brought out the hydraulic cutter to break the lock. The moment the door opened, a figure suddenly appeared in the wide corridor!

Gu Ji, keeping the central line clear, saw it all, "Find cover! Now!"

A loud shout startled back Gao Bo and Li Zongxuan, who were about to charge in.

The double enhancement of the Central Nervous System not only improved Gu Ji's instant memory and tactical map retention but also enhanced his reflexes. He noticed the "hostage" in worker's clothes the moment the door opened.

In the next second, from behind the central pillar in the corridor, a muzzle suddenly appeared.

"Central pillar! Open fire!"

Gu Ji's gun was faster than his words, dropping to shoot from the shoulder in a crouched position, swiftly firing three shots. With a soft sound, a white puff exploded from the "terrorist's" thigh.

Hit!

The training powder bullets actually packed some power. Even through trousers, there was a noticeable pain. The "terrorist" staggered two steps, fully exposing himself from the pillar, and Gao Bo hurriedly fired a shot, hitting him in the chest.

Ceremony field stands.

Wow—!

The whole arena erupted among the students and teachers.

"Whoa! Amazing!"

"Awesome, awesome, awesome! My god, is this the power of our Special Police Academy?"

"In less than half a minute! They took down the first hostile!"

"Did you notice the team leader giving commands? Doesn't his eyebrows look fantastic, making his eyes seem so aggressive, like a handsome little wolf dog, ooooo—"

"Sis, get a grip; the senior is about to graduate!"

"Isn't this team supposed to be the backup?"

To be honest, not only were the freshmen and sophomores in the stands amazed, but even the backstage event coordinators were dumbfounded. Originally, they were primarily filming the main assault team, giving as much focus as possible to the on-site commander, Wu Kang.

But who could've imagined that a secondary team would move faster than the main one?

If it weren't for Mr. Fang's sharp eye, spotting Gu Ji and his team moving first and instructing the coordinators to switch the camera in time, they almost missed the moment their student scored the "first blood" scene!

"Wait a minute."

On the big screen, just as Gao Bo and others were about to rise and push forward, Gu Ji called out, raising his muzzle, snap-snap, firing two more shots, hitting the "terrorist" in the chest.

Whoa!

Was that... a finishing shot?
