Chapter 153: Zombie Riot

At the moment of putting on the leather suit, the "Monkey King" seemed to see the shadow of its previous owner on Su Changxing.

Since birth, it had been with a human family. Its owner was a child, and they ate, played, and slept together.

Sometimes, it even thought it was a human, but in reality, it wasn't; it was just a monkey, a pet monkey raised by a human family.

It was very smart, and it knew it was smart, probably smarter than most monkeys, possibly even able to understand human speech and speak human language.

But it never spoke because it was smart enough to know that doing so would definitely cause human panic. Humans might tolerate a smart monkey but not a talking one.

The owner treated it well, and it felt that continuing like this was not bad. But unbeknownst to it, the world began to change; one day, the TV and lights stopped working.

The owner fell into a state of extreme anxiety, but at the same time, it felt its mind becoming increasingly clear.

It seemed to be getting smarter and smarter, recognizing more words, and even able to read a complete book, feeling the emotions between the text.

"Xiaobo, I will become one of those monsters, but you might survive. I've left enough food at home. If you ration it, you should be able to live for a long time."

The owner combed its fur with a brush; the skin on his hands and face had turned pale, showing symptoms of zombification.

And Xiaobo was its name, meaning erudite and intelligent, at least among monkeys.

The owner, knowing it could understand, put down the brush, put on a mask, and joked:

"We humans have already been defeated by our own hands. The future might be your future."

The "Monkey King" watched the figure leaving, screeching, yet it still didn't utter a word.

A ghostly light flickered across the leather suit.

Unconsciously, the "Monkey King" found that the two figures began to overlap, as if this person before it was once its owner.

Su Changxing could clearly feel the "Monkey King's" gaze becoming much softer, like a tamed beast.

The training ring wasn't a direct control, but a subtle influence.

Su Changxing observed the changes in the "Monkey King" for a while, then tried giving an order:

"You lead these monkeys to cooperate with us to clear the surrounding zombies."

The "Monkey King" hesitated for a moment, then slightly bowed its head and said, "Alright... my master."

Then, it let out a sharp cry, causing the jungle to shake, with many monkeys darting around, far more than Su Changxing had estimated.

These zombie monkeys were able to reproduce.

Su Changxing suddenly realized that these monkeys might be more advanced than ordinary zombies, as they could already reproduce on their own.

Hundreds of monkeys rushed out of the forest, launching an attack on the zombies outside, scaring Zhou An and the others who were preparing to fight back.

"It's alright; they probably won't attack us."

Su Changxing stopped them, then sent a message to Huang Biao, telling him to avoid conflict with these monkeys. If a real fight broke out, the "Monkey King" might not be able to control them.

Zhou An looked at a monkey not far away, screeching at him incessantly, and muttered, "Why do I feel like this monkey is cursing at me? Damn this brat, monkeys really are the most annoying."

With the addition of these monkeys, the speed of clearing the zombies increased several times. Many small monkeys were picking up and eating the corpses on the ground, seemingly only eating the brains, with their faces covered in black brain matter, revealing a terrifying cuteness.

Zhou An and the others couldn't help but shiver, feeling as if they were fighting side by side with monsters.

During the zombie-clearing process, many monkeys were injured, but they didn't seem to care; even the dead ones became food for others.

Soon, Huang Biao brought people over to Su Changxing, asking with an unpleasant expression, "Su Changxing, what's going on here?"

Su Changxing thought for a moment and said, "We should have temporarily reached a cooperation agreement with them."

"Cooperation?"

Huang Biao was silent for a moment, finding it absurd to cooperate with a group of zombie monkeys, but he still asked, "You say this cooperation, is it reliable?"

Su Changxing nodded and said seriously, "It's reliable, it's our best choice now, using these monkeys' power to clear this place once and for all."

No matter how it sounds, everything about this situation sounds absurd.

Yet, Huang Biao chose to believe, because the person in front of him was already an absurd existence, saying:

"In that case, I'll have Yan Xu take people to block the doors in the community."

He paused and quietly said to Su Changxing, "These monkeys are very dangerous, some even carry small weapons."

Turning his head, he saw a small monkey dragging a small knife, rushing towards a zombie.

Su Changxing also understood Huang Biao's concerns and assured him, "Trust me, it's fine."

By eight-thirty, the zombies in the community were basically all cleared, and the whole place suddenly became open, with the ground littered with zombie bodies, the brains scooped out, as well as many monkey bodies.

There were three gates in the community, with the east and west gates blocked by furniture and iron plates, complementing the original large gates, while the north gate had an iron gate left open for passage.

After the zombies were cleared from the community, under the "Monkey King's" command, the monkeys started moving bodies out.

These zombie monkeys had an abnormal amount of stamina, similar to zombies, capable of long periods of high-intensity activity.

By around nine, Su Changxing and the others began to regroup. Humans aren't zombies, and most were already extremely fatigued.

After an afternoon, the number of people at the base increased by twenty to thirty, bringing the total close to one hundred, making the hall somewhat crowded.

Su Changxing scanned the crowd briefly, seeing no humans with path-clearing capabilities.

This was expected.

Because of the zombie clearance, the overall atmosphere was fairly positive. At least they had cleared a place for themselves to settle.

Su Changxing sat in a chair in the study, loading copper-yellow bullets into magazines under the flickering light.

The shop refreshed; the ammunition section refreshed as well. The number of pistol bullets hadn't increased, still at fifty, each costing twenty points.

He spent 600 points to purchase thirty rounds of ammunition.

"Ah!"

Hmm?

Did the roar get louder?

Su Changxing keenly noticed the zombies' roars outside getting sharper. Looking out the window, the sky seemed covered with a faint red veil, even the moon in the sky had a hint of red.
