Chapter 199: Perilous Situation

Faced with such a situation, Su Changxing didn't show much emotional change. He had anticipated this possibility before, though he thought the probability was low.

Huang Biao was being surrounded by two or three people. Despite his physical endurance declining, his combat experience was rich, and he was barely able to cope.

Su Changxing's coat billowed behind him as he charged into the crowd with his Steel Saber, his body turning into a blur. Like a whirlwind, he cut down four or five people in the blink of an eye, kicking one person away in the process.

Su Changxing's sudden attack momentarily stilled the scene, halting everyone in their tracks.

This was a complete dimensional assault.

Seeing Su Changxing arrive, Huang Biao let out a sigh of relief. He had almost reached his breaking point. Su Changxing proved to be reliable, arriving much faster than he had imagined, likely noticing the situation as soon as their side began to fight.

He kicked down the person beside him, menacingly saying, "Kill them all, I'll just consider it a Zombie ambush."

Hearing this, one man fell to his knees in fear, crying, "Boss Huang, it was all Song Linning who forced us; it was his idea. It has nothing to do with us."

Instantly, a few more people knelt down, pleading for mercy.

"Swish~"

With a swift motion, Huang Biao's blade fell, and blood sprayed onto the ground like rain. The man was beheaded with a clean cut, leaving no room for hesitation.

In reality, the best option for these people would have been to resist rather than surrender, as there was already an irreconcilable conflict. Resist, and there might have been a sliver of hope, although the final outcome might have been the same.

Under the absolute power of Su Changxing, these people had completely lost their will to resist.

Within just over a minute, heads rolled as Song Linning and his group all perished near the Blood Moon Shop.

Su Changxing, having killed most of them himself, still felt that murdering people was somewhat different from killing Zombies; at least it didn't leave his heart untouched.

Huang Biao's eyes were bloodshot, showing a hint of madness. He stabbed twice more into an already dead body, saying,

"Let's quickly complete the reinforcement; the exit might not hold for long."

Su Changxing glanced towards the exit, momentarily stunned. Three Extraordinary Zombies had simultaneously appeared at the exit, which was breached, scattering the troops stationed there. The situation looked grim.

"The exit has been breached, Huang Biao, you should fall back a bit."

Su Changxing shouted, rushing towards the exit with his weapon at the ready.

The team stationed at the exit retreated while engaging the Zombies, casualties rising instantly with people continually falling amidst the Undead Tide.

Speeding up again, Su Changxing plunged into the Undead Tide, hacking away. After about ten seconds, he emerged from it.

By this wave, a section of the Zombies had been cleared.

Monkeys from upstairs kept jumping onto the Zombies' heads from the second floor, removing their brains and either being killed by the Zombies or jumping back upstairs.

Elsewhere, those defending hurried towards the exit, intercepting the Zombies.

Once large numbers of Zombies flooded into the settlement, it would be beyond salvation. They could only retreat upstairs, but doing so promised heavy losses, possibly leaving barely anyone alive in the end.

Su Changxing looked around, searching for the position of those few Extraordinary Zombies. Solving them would mean the Undead Tide wouldn't be much of a problem.

Quickly, he spotted an Extraordinary Zombie mixed in the Undead Tide some distance away, preparing to break through into the crowd.

Suddenly.

A figure rushed towards the Extraordinary Zombie at great speed—it was Zhu Wenwu—swiftly stabbing at the Zombie with a sword.

However, the Zombie moved quickly, instinctively dodging Zhu Wenwu's attack.

As Zhu Wenwu approached the Zombie, his speed matched it and, with a quick reverse swipe, he aimed at the Zombie's head.

Simultaneously, the Zombie swung a claw at Zhu Wenwu.

Facing the Zombie's attack, Zhu Wenwu did not evade, and continued slashing straight.

Trading blows with a Zombie was very unwise.

In Zhu Wenwu's eyes, a dueling dagger appeared over the Zombie's head.

This was the mark of death, also known as the dueling dagger.

Once he marked an enemy with this sign, only one of them could survive; he needed to kill the marked enemy within a certain time.

The exchange happened in an instant.

Zhu Wenwu incurred a deep gash, his shirt completely ruined, exposing his bloody chest.

He pressed the Zombie underfoot, extracting his black-blood-stained blade, and in the chaos, located Su Changxing.

Seeing Zhu Wenwu approaching, Su Changxing roughly guessed the situation and quickly retreated.

Zhu Wenwu ran up to Su Changxing, saying gravely, "Brother Su, those Screamers are already rushing towards our settlement. In no more than five minutes, we'll see them."

Su Changxing nodded, his expression remaining calm, saying, "You stand your ground here, I'll make some preparations."

In fact, he wasn't entirely confident in dealing with the Screamers, but there was no choice but to face them head-on. If things really didn't work out, there would be nothing else he could do.

Su Changxing retreated to the side of the Blood Moon Shop, took a deep breath, calming himself, just as Zhou Wen arrived from behind.

Zhou An glanced at the Undead Tide not far ahead, asking, "Brother Su, what are you doing here?"

Su Changxing gave him a serious look, saying, "Getting ready to sleep."

"Sleep?"

Zhou An looked baffled but held back his questions, saying, "Uh, we'll go ahead and provide support."

With that, he led over thirty people forward, having a good idea that Su Changxing likely had something essential to do.

Su Changxing stood still, slowly closing his eyes, deliberately blocking out the surrounding noise.

Can a person fall asleep standing?

The answer is yes.

Just over a minute later.

Su Changxing felt his perspective rising, overlooking the whole settlement, viewing the battle situation clearly, also noting a Screamer had appeared outside the settlement.

At the same time, a sharp, piercing wail echoed over the settlement.

Everyone's expression changed, realizing something else had arrived.

Some recognized it as the sound of a Screamer, their expressions turning even more desperate, shouting, "This is a Screamer; we're finished. Why do such monsters come here? We have no hope of survival."

Others questioned, "A Screamer? How can that be?"

"This is the sound of a Screamer. I've seen one before, and this sound is unforgettable for life."

A massive purple figure appeared at the exit.

A sense of despair filled the crowd; some charged into the Undead Tide with thoughts of a final fight, others had already given up resistance, calmly awaiting the coming death.
