Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 150: King of Knights [6] - Changes

Just when Liora was deep in thought, her eyes suddenly narrowed.

With a move of her mind, a gap formed in the space before her, which soon rushed towards her and engulfed her figure.

The next second, she had returned to the real world, exiting the Space Orb's demi-plane.

Upon her arrival, her consciousness expanded and quickly swept through the entire Black Tulip mansion. Immediately, she found what she was looking for.

In one of the central rooms, an aura was surging rapidly.

Going deeper, Liora saw that the owner of that aura was Eleanor.

Seated cross-legged with her eyes closed, her body continuously cracked and reassembled, growing stronger with each alternation.

Her blonde hair whistled through the air like writhing snakes, while a hint of black flashed in her hidden pupils.

Suddenly, Eleanor seemed to have broken through a certain limit, shattering the invisible film that was limiting her.

Her aura stopped fluctuating, and her Life Force roared, signaling the end of her transformation.

Under the pressure of Alex and the fear of being unable to help her younger brother, Eleanor had succeeded in advancing to a True Knight.

--

Eleanor's eyelids fluttered as she slowly opened her eyes, a rare tinge of black flashing in her pupils before it quickly disappeared.

However, Eleanor neither realized nor cared about it.

Her full focus was currently on the result of her advancement, or rather, on the changes in her strength.

Feeling the seemingly boundless power coursing within her muscles, she couldn't help but be filled with confidence.

But she wasn't lost in power just yet.

She understood that the most important thing at the moment was not to revel in her newfound power, but to deal with the matter at hand.

"With my current strength, I should be able to protect my brother. Although both Alex and I are True Knights, there are differences between True Knights. Overall, I should be able to defeat him."

Thinking this, Eleanor subconsciously clenched her fists, her eyes shining.

Just when she was about to dig deeper into her power and become familiar with her newfound strength, a discordant voice suddenly sounded from behind her.

"Congratulations! With your advancement, there should be no issue with regaining control over the Black Tulip fiefdom."

Hearing this voice, Eleanor jumped up in shock.

Her right hand acted on its own and moved towards her waist, ready to take out her sheathed sword and strike at the intruder.

But when she turned around and saw that familiar face, she subconsciously breathed a sigh of relief and returned the sword to its sheath.

An awkward smile appeared on her face as she spoke up:

"Thank you, Lord Liora. Part of the reason why I was able to advance so quickly is because of your reminder."

"If it were not for you telling me about Alex's advancement, it would have taken me months of hard work to become a True Knight."

While Eleanor was talking, she sneakily sized Liora up.

To be honest, Eleanor still didn't know much regarding her identity, though she had certain suspicions.

Still, despite her suspicions, she believed that her advancement to a True Knight should have narrowed the gap in strength between them.

Even if Liora was stronger than her, Eleanor thought that the difference between them would no longer be that big.

But through this brief interaction, Eleanor understood that she had been gravely mistaken.

To be able to silently enter her room without her even noticing—only discovering her existence after she spoke—Liora's strength was still unfathomable.

At least, Eleanor knew that if Liora wished to, a single strike was more than enough to kill her.

Eleanor's gaze failed to escape Liora's detection. Still, she didn't point it out.

Noticing Eleanor's surging strength and feeling the confidence she subconsciously exuded, Liora couldn't help but ask the question in her mind:

"What are your next plans? Are you going to reveal your strength to the rest of the Black Tulip family and gain their favor?"

"If you are willing, I'm certain that they will fully support you, even if Alex wishes to oppose you."

Her question caught Eleanor off guard.

Liora's previous refusal to take action against Alex was still fresh on her mind. Therefore, she didn't understand what her purpose was in asking this now.

Still, she knew better than to lie.

Instinctively, she lowered her head and clutched the corners of her clothes, her hesitation clear on her beautiful face.

But after a few moments of internal struggle, that hesitation vanished. It was replaced by surprising decisiveness.

Raising her head, Eleanor looked straight into Liora's crimson eyes.

After a brief pause, she shook her head and replied:

"No. Although revealing my strength may indeed win the support of some family members, this will only solve the problem temporarily. Sooner or later, Alex and his supporters will try to rebel again."

"The only way to solve the problem is to nip it in the bud. As long as Alex is gone, no one will dare to go against my brother and me."

Although Eleanor's voice sounded the same as usual and her appearance remained exactly the same, her demeanor seemed to have changed under the silver moonlight.

Not much time had passed, but compared to the holy appearance she displayed when Liora first descended into this world, Eleanor now looked completely different.

Of course, Liora didn't judge.

Hearing Eleanor's plan, she neither pointed out any flaws nor inquired further.

Instead, she calmly nodded her head.

"I see. I wish that everything works out fine for you in the end.", she said before the darkness beneath her swallowed her place.

Staring at the place where Liora stood just a moment ago, Eleanor's face remained calm, not showing much shock regarding such a bizarre ability.

After she evened out the messy corners of her luxurious dress, she turned her attention back to her own changes.

Eleanor knew that she needed to become familiar with her own strength if she wished for everything to work out.
