Mushroom Lord in the Underground City

Chapter 129: You Can Do It!

The giant ship slowly approached, and at this moment, within the mist, apart from the sound of waves, there was complete silence.

"This time... what is it again?" the pirate first mate asked weakly.

Wind Feather's captain, Gerhard, merely shook his head, indicating he was also unclear.

Dylan wondered: "Could it be a ship from the Archipelago lost here like us?"

"Impossible, the Archipelago doesn't have ships this large, I've never seen this style before, and... there's not a single light on it…"

The pirate first mate secretly glanced a few more times at Dylan, who had lost his mimicry — a green Demon Race, but now wasn't the time to talk about this.

Once he mentioned it, Dylan noticed that it was indeed true.

Magic Crystal Lamps are not cheap, but they are essential for ships, like there were four lamps on the Wind Feather before.

And with this massive and lavishly decorated ship, having a large Magic Crystal Lamp would be reasonable, yet now looking towards the dense fog, there wasn't a flicker of light.

Moreover, it was eerily silent.

A ship this large requires at least a hundred people to operate, even from a distance, it shouldn't be this silent.

The few exchanged glances felt something was amiss.

Lin Jun wondered if this world had tales about ghost ships?

The Scout was now repeatedly using [Sound Wave Detection Level 6], but that ship indeed didn't have any life forms on it; if it's not a ghost ship, what is it?

Could it be that those who have seen it all died so there aren't any rumors to spread?

The giant ship slowly approached and eventually stopped not far away, with a Blood Shark between it and Wind Feather.

Even though it wasn't close to Wind Feather, and even when knowing it's a massive ship, as the ship's side loomed like a city wall in front, everyone could distinctly feel that oppressive presence from the giant entity.

"What does it intend to do?"

A sound finally emanated from the giant ship, yet it wasn't human, but a rumbling of heavy objects moving.

And it wasn't just one, but many!?

Under everyone's watchful eyes, rows of squares on the giant ship were lifted one by one, with dark cannons slowly protruding from inside...

Cannons!?

This doesn't make sense!

This world doesn't even have muskets, where did these cannons come from?

And isn't a ghost ship supposed to be technologically behind, only holding an undead advantage?

How can your technology be higher than the locals', does this make sense?

Without any reaction time, the deafening sound of a dozen cannon fires merged together, causing the Scout's entire mushroom to be stunned for a moment.

Fortunately, Wind Feather wasn't the target of this attack.

The Blood Shark suffered.

The ship was easily torn apart like a fragile toy under the bombardment, even the mast was broken into several pieces.

When Dylan ran to the railing to check, he could only see the remnants of Blood Shark slowly sinking.

No matter how many surviving pirates were there before, it's likely none now...

And now, all the cannons retreated, unsure if they were being reloaded.

Magic Power suddenly gathered towards the debris of Blood Shark, and the water exploded, a battered figure flew out, it was that Mage!

This was also Lin Jun's first direct sight of this mighty display from a Mage, yet accessing the panel left Lin Jun puzzled.

It wasn't that he was too strong or had any special attributes, Lin Jun was puzzled, why is this Mage just a regular Gold Level?

Only Level 43, with ordinary skills of a Wind-Fire Dual Mage, no outstanding attributes, how did he unleash such powerful Spells?

The answer promptly came before Lin Jun—because of the mist!

Though the Mage appeared disheveled, his Status seemed much better than the three on Wind Feather.

Clearly, he didn't intend to swallow his anger after the sudden cannon attack; the dense Magic Power in the fog was mobilized by him, gathering onto the Magic Staff in his hand, which shimmered brightly.

Tier Six Magic—Great Storm!

Lin Jun had seen this Magic before, the Vampire Viscount's team had a Gold Level Mage use it in the Yellow Book Happy House.

But the one used then couldn't compare to the power of the one before him now.

The environment's high Magic Power density greatly enhanced the Spell's power, allowing this Gold Level Mage to forcefully achieve a Diamond Level effect.

Numerous massive Wind Blades, like guillotine blades, whirled out, any one of them could easily cut the stone pillar formed by Puki in half.

All these Wind Blades spiraled and struck the giant ship, causing wood chips to fly, revealing the ship's internal three-layered deck.

Inside were cannons, cannonballs, barrels of gunpowder, various sundries, but no life forms.

The Mage was evidently stunned, he might have thought he was being attacked by living people.

As the Mage stared at the broken deck, the giant ship's bow revealed three crossbows launching hooks.

"Watch out above!" Dylan loudly reminded.

But it was too late.

The ambushed Mage tried dodging in mid-air, but was still pierced by a hook, falling straight into the sea.

The hook tethered to a rope, as the rope was reeled in, the lifeless Mage's body was dragged up from the sea, finally stuck in front of the crossbow.

Worse still, in an instant without any sign, the giant ship reverted back to its original state.

The damage traces left by the Great Storm vanished completely as if nothing had happened.

Were it not for the Mage's body still stuck on the crossbow, the few would doubt if they've succumbed to an illusion.

Lin Jun couldn't comprehend it either, if the flying wood chips reversed back to undo the damage, it could be attributed to some time reversal, but this instantaneous restoration without any Magic Power fluctuation, what kind of mechanism was this?

Isn't it a bit too overpowered?

Unfortunately, this world doesn't have customer service for complaints about the giant ship cheating.

The squares on the ship's surface were opened again, this time the cannons aimed at Wind Feather…

Despair.

"You, how did you survive before?" Knowing survival was not possible, the pirate first mate couldn't help but complain.

"Back then there were only Water Ghosts..." Wind Feather's captain said, closed his eyes, waiting for death.

Both of them were heavily injured, having no energy to even move.

In terms of Physical Strength, Dylan wasn't much better either.

"Dylan, at the Mushroom Garden I'll make you a memorial.

By the way, do you have any last words?

Like telling Bella 'Daddy loves you' or something?"

"After I die, will the boss ever tell Bella if he meets her?"

Lin Jun thought for a moment, "No."

Dylan had a "I knew it" expression.

"Then let me struggle a bit more..."

Amidst the roaring cannon fire, Dylan grabbed the Scout and leapt off the ship's edge!

Wind Feather was larger than Blood Shark, but this difference was inconsequential in front of dozens of cannons.

After a round of cannon fire, Wind Feather too became a pile of debris floating on the water's surface, no sign of any living beings.

After a brief pause, the giant ship started moving again, disappearing into the mist.

...

...

...

Plop—

A mushroom hat surfaced on the water.

The mushroom hat bobbed up and down, quickly moving to the wreckage of Wind Feather.

A tentacle wrapped around a larger piece of debris, Scout Puki dragged the water-soaked, unconscious Dylan up.

Scout Puki stood beside Dylan, fiercely stamping on his bloated belly!

With a Power value of 52, it quickly made Dylan vomit the seawater wildly.

For now, it seemed the debris wouldn't sink, so the Scout swam around nearby, eventually finding a still intact small boat among Blood Shark's debris.

Paddling to the wreckage, dragging Dylan onto the boat, Lin Jun felt completely exhausted.

It wasn't physical exhaustion, but mental.

This mist was beyond his understanding, first came the Water Ghost without panels, then the giant ship's cannons, and the eerie restoration.

What on earth is happening in this world?

The Scout didn't row the boat, even if it did, it wouldn't know which direction to go, so it simply drifted with the currents.

If a Water Ghost or the giant ship appeared again, it would indeed be heaven sentencing Dylan, leaving Lin Jun powerless.

Fortunately, none of this happened.

They drifted for a long time, the mist gradually faded, even a ray of light appeared in the distance—it was the morning sun.

As the small boat was about to leave the mist completely, a crisp voice suddenly spread through Scout into the Fungal Network.

"Keep it up!"
