Clan Prosperity Starting With My Servant Girls

Chapter 165: Demise

"Here, take this pill." Ruo Zhi took out a pill and tried to feed it to Lee Zhen Ren.

But Lee Zhen Ren only shook his head and said, "It's over for me.

"My path to immortality ends here.

"Irony that it had to be on my birthday."

Cough.

He gave out a few coughs of blood and continued, "I've expended my Core on defeating him.

"There's no way to save me now.

"Make sure the rebels don't create havoc in the city.

"The Six Pulse Sword Sect must not be implicated."

Lee Zhen Ren gave a side eye over at Sima Ye.

After she took a glance at Sima Ye, she nodded her head and said, "I know what to do."

Cough.

Lee Zhen Ren gave out another cough, glanced up at the gloomy sky and said, "When I was born a few hundred years ago, my father said that the sky was gloomy like today... I guess we all end it the way we arrive..."

Before he could finish, Lee Zhen Ren's eyes closed.

Ruo Zhi used her Spirit Sense but couldn't sense any life force left in Lee Zhen Ren's body.

She laid his body down onto the ground slowly and stood up.

Raising her sword, she shouted, "Death to these rebels!"

The disciples of Lee Zhen Ren and Six Pulse Sword Sect did the same, and they shouted in a chorus.

"Quick, get down into the city!" The rebels knew that the tide had turned with their leader Zhan Lao dead.

They tried to scurry down into the city so that they could ransack or hide within.

But they weren't able to do so.

The disciples of Lee Zhen Ren and Six Pulse Sword Sect vented their anger on them.

Heads, arms, and legs were sliced off their bodies mercilessly.

"All of you bastards!" One of the rebels on the ground with her legs sliced off, shouted and spat at the disciple coming at her.

The disciple was faster than her.

He turned his body sideways, and the spit missed him.

Slice.

The disciple swung his sword and sliced the jaws off the head of the rebel.

The pain was so intense that she twitched and squirmed uncontrollably.

"That's your punishment for daring to challenge cultivators!" The disciple said and plunged his sword into the heart of the rebel.

The rebel's body stopped moving soon after.

Blood covered the surroundings of where the body of the rebel lay.

The same thing was happening with the disciples rampaging through the horde of rebels.

"Hehehe. It was fun but I have to go now." Eunuch Xin gave out his familiar smile when he took out a talisman.

Zhao Jia Rui tried to stop him, but she was a moment too late.

The talisman burned, and a dark glow engulfed Eunuch Xin's body.

Twirling winds that flew at him passed through the dark glow like it was nothing.

And in the next moment, the dark glow dissipated, and Eunuch Xin was gone from where he was.

"Damn. He got away!" Zhao Jia Rui cursed and glanced at Sima Ye.

Sima Ye frowned and glanced over at Hong Hai.

Hong Hai shook his head at him and said, "Best not to chase after him for now. We have got to clear the city first."

The cries and screams filled the air, and Sima Ye nodded his head.

They had got other work to be done first.

...

"I saw it, you have got some silver there." A rebel grinned and pointed at a shelf.

An old woman stood in front of the shelf with her granddaughter crying by her side.

"Give it to us now, or else..." The other rebels who were at the same place shouted, brandishing their weapons at the old woman.

"I can't...We need the money for the autumn tax...I would die if I got sent to hard labor...." The old woman burst out in tears and begged the rebels.

The rebels ignored her, pulled her aside, and rummaged through the shelf.

The old woman couldn't do anything but wail in tears.

Her granddaughter tried to help her grandmother up on her feet but wasn't able to.

She was too small.

"Here, found it!" The rebels found the silver and took it out with excitement.

When they turned around, they saw a flash of light.

Lee He Song had sliced off their heads with his sword.

He was on his way to the prison to see if Liu Ju Zheng was safe but stopped when he saw the poor old woman being terrorized by these rebels.

Blood spurted out from the bodies of the rebels, and their heads rolled on the ground.

"Cover your eyes." The old woman quickly covered her granddaughter's eyes.

Lee He Song didn't speak a word, and he turned around to continue on his way.

"Thank you, savior!" The old woman's voice could still be heard when he got further away.

All over the city, there were rebels trying to rob and ransack from those staying inside the city.

They tried to do the same to the powerful clans and families but couldn't.

Their guards were cultivators, and these rebels were no threat to them.

So, the rebels focused on robbing the common folks.

Lee He Song hastened his pace, and he finally arrived at the prison.

The prison was now in chaos.

No constables were in sight and there were bodies lying on the ground.

Lee He Song quickly ran into the prison with his sword held tightly in his hand.

"Brother Liu." He shouted and waited for a response.

There was only silence at first.

But after a while, he heard rustling, and Liu Ju Zheng appeared out from the darkness of his cell.

"Brother Lee, old friend, what's happening?"

Lee He Song saw the unlocked door of the cell and stretched out his hand, "Come brother Liu, we can talk on our way."

Liu Ju Zheng, however, shook his head at him.

"I'm not going to go against the law of the Da Qian Dynasty." He replied.

Lee He Song was flabbergasted with Liu Ju Zheng's reply.

He was framed into the prison and now he was giving up the chance for freedom amidst the chaos?

Lee He Song couldn't understand what Liu Ju Zheng was thinking, and he walked into his cell, ready to pull Liu Ju Zheng out of it.

But Liu Ju Zheng shook his head at him again.

"I'm going to clear my name the right way before I get out."

Lee He Song shook his head at him.
