"I shall update you soon." Hun Xiong Kun bade Lin Xuan Qi farewell, and he walked him to the gates of the mansion.

Lin Xuan Qi was in a much better mood than before from Hun Xiong Kun's visit.

As the saying goes, lots of problems can be solved by having more money.

With the new revenue from Hun Xiong Kun, Lin Xuan Qi had less of a worry about the daily expenses.

He would be able to have more than enough for recruiting the new guards and also have funds to tinker around with the creation of MSG.

His taste buds were dying for that extra punch in the cuisine.

Every dish he had had was nice so far, but they were missing that something extra he was so used to.

"Master Lee and Yue Jie, I need you to come with me to the retail store." Lin Xuan Qi said, and they nodded to him.

They didn't waste time and prepared themselves for the trip.

With the rice business settled, it was time for him to get back to work on the soap business.

The intermediary product for the new batch of soap had been delivered to the retail store, waiting for his final touch to make them into soap.

When he got to the gates to board the horse carriage, Yue Jie had already got the account books with her and got onto the horse carriage.

Lee He Song stood on guard with his sword outside of the horse carriage as usual.

"Master Lee, you can join us in the horse carriage. The guards should be enough to fend off the beggars." Lin Xuan Qi asked, but Lee He Song shook his head, pointed his chin at the horse carriage, and chuckled.

Lin Xuan Qi turned back to the horse carriage and saw Yue Jie's face pop out from the window.

He realized what Lee He Song was avoiding.

Lee He Song didn't want to be in an enclosed area with Lin Xuan Qi and Yue Jie, giving them some privacy.

"Thanks, Master Lee." Lin Xuan Qi said and boarded the horse carriage.

After he closed the doors of the horse carriage, the whip of the coachman cracked in the air, and they started moving off.

Yue Jie had her face down, focusing on the numbers in the account books for the retail shop.

He wanted to stop her, but it was a rare moment for him to be able to marvel at her without anyone else nearby.

It had been a while since he had had such an opportunity to be alone with Xue Cong, Yue Jie, Yue Xin, or Liu Shi Shi.

There were now too many eyes in the mansion.

Even though he was not one to be bothered, it wasn't the same for them.

As the horse trotted, the horse carriage bounced when the wheels without suspension hit the bumps on the uneven roads.

Yue Jie's voluptuous bosoms bounced with it.

It was too hard for him to ignore.

He feasted on it with his eyes, but when Yue Jie glanced at him and saw what he was doing, she blushed and tried to cover her bosoms with the account books.

Lin Xuan Qi shifted closer to her and whispered into her ears, "We will be husband and concubine soon, there's nothing to be shy of."

He wrapped his hand around her waist and held it tight.

Yue Jie felt his strong arms and also his muscular build when he brushed his body close to hers.

Her mind went blank from it.

She glanced at him, gave out a long sigh, and frowned.

Lin Xuan Qi didn't expect this reaction from her and asked, "What's wrong?"

He was anticipating that she would be shy as usual, rejecting him and yet allowing him at the same time.

But Yue Jie shook her head and said, "You've made me lose count... I've got to start over again."

She lifted the account book she had on her lap and showed it to him.

It was Lin Xuan Qi's turn to frown.

Maybe getting them to work too hard was a bad idea, he thought silently to himself.

He wanted to let her put down the account books and have a chat with her, but the horse carriage stopped, and the voice of the coachman sounded from outside the carriage, "Master Lin, we've arrived."

Yue Jie gave him a smile when she saw his disappointed expression.

"We have time after we get married, and besides that, you should also spend time with sister Xue Cong." She said and opened the doors of the horse carriage.

Lin Xuan Qi shrugged his shoulders but took note of what she had said.

She was right.

It was indeed so that he hadn't spent much time with Xue Cong recently.

Lin Xuan Qi got out of the horse carriage and glanced at the surroundings.

There were still some needy people sitting by the side of the street, but the overall mood was now much calmer than it was a day ago.

Pedestrians walked by at a normal pace, and the heavy frown was gone from their faces.

The readily available supply of rice must have been great news for them.

Hopefully, with it, there would be new opportunities for those who were down and out to have a chance to get back to a normal life.

"Welcome, Master Lin and sister Yue Jie." Lu Ting got out of the retail shop with a huge smile and greeted him.

The other retail shop workers also came out and did the same.

When Lin Xuan Qi saw Lu Ting, her name reminded him of someone, and he realized he hadn't seen the other Lu Ting from the Lu Clan for a while.

Hopefully she went away and never came back, he thought while he nodded at Lu Ting and said, "I'm here to finish up the new batch of soap while Yue Jie will go through the accounts with you."

"Please come in." Lu Ting said and led Lin Xuan Qi and Yue Jie into the store.
