[You've slain a Lost Damnedling Lv.48]
[You've obtained 3,541 + (708) Experience Points.]
[You've obtained (2) Purge Tickets.]
[You've obtained (1) Lesser Demon Essence.]
Daru exhaled, a hint of glee on his face as he watched the accursed head of the hunched abomination roll on the ancient stone floors of the ruined residence.
Putrid, black blood spilled and flowed on the ground like dark streams creeping outwards.
It extended and reached for the hands of the fallen spawn.
Due to this, Daru noticed that it had been holding something when it entered.
He quickly grabbed it, saving the item from being tainted by the black blood.
[You've obtained (1) Hellberry.]
Aside from the irregular and huge amount of experience points he obtained, Daru was curious about the descriptions of all three of his spoils from the kill, but his attention was momentarily captured by the corpse of the Lost Damnedling.
It wasn't dissipating into red cubic particles.
Daru already theorized that this was the case. However, the actual thing still made him uneasy.
It was like a death here would truly mean the end.
If he were killed, would his body remain like that? If so, then what would happen if he respawned back at the Sword Goddess Statue in Agaron?
Then his eyes narrowed at a realization.
'Would I even respawn?'
He didn't know, and he didn't want to know.
With a heavy sigh, he tapped on his belt bag, opening the inventory window and tapping on the blood-stained tickets.

Daru observed the familiar game-like window and read the game-like description.
He was still in the Myriad Sword Realm; that is an undeniable fact.
'Maybe there are only areas with special rules like this one?'
This was the explanation that made the most sense to him. Either way, he'll keep everything he would obtain for now, as he was a visitor forced to be a newcomer by a hateful abomination.
He then checked the description of the [Lesser Demon Essence] next.
Daru was expecting to obtain such loot here, but what did lesser mean in this case?
To his surprise, it was quite straightforward: merge three and get one Demon Essence.
He appreciated that he didn't need to spend too much mental energy on this one, quickly moving on to the last item he obtained.

'Hoh…so basically food and water, huh?'
He had been wandering about the matter while he was walking earlier.
There were numerous occasions he felt hungry in the Myriad Sword Realm, especially on Sundays, reminding him that he should exit and that it was already time for lunch.
Since the underworld wouldn't let go of him, there was a good chance he would have to face hunger and thirst.
Fortunately, before he did, he already found a solution, though only temporary.
He wouldn't have to worry for eight hours.
But what about after that?
Daru learned he also had to worry about the two necessities now, in a way he didn't have to before.
'Ah…so even I was quite privileged in a way…' he mused, stepping over the putrid corpse and exiting the ruined residence.
Looking around, a faint smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
There were a lot of ancient abodes. Perhaps there were more such items inside?
To his disappointment, there were none at all at the surrounding ones and the ones a bit farther away.
But he continued looking nonetheless.
While he did have a general destination, in reality, he was as lost as the Damnedlings.
He might as well take his time and secure as many resources as he could.
The thought of living in the Myriad Sword Realm for quite some time — even though he would be doing so in this god-forsaken, ashen realm — brought a strange sense of excitement in his heart.
It was as though he had been craving for something as intense and extreme as this his whole life.
No.
Not "as though", he HAD been yearning for such an experience.
The monochrome world, to him, was not even as close to being as gray as Neo-Earth during his high-school years.
He was starting to have fun.
Looking for survival resources, the uncertainty of true death, fighting the damned, the strange loot, the thought of growing stronger through struggle, and many more.
All these factors roused his heart, passion, and instincts.
Perhaps he was wretched in his own way?
Daru didn't dare be careless, taking his sweet time to ensure his safety while scouring the ruins of the ancient abodes.
He could very well end up being ambushed himself.
Luckily, he didn't, finding yet another strangely fresh vegetable badly hidden below a stone bed in a different residence, a fair distance away from where he got the first one.
It wasn't a carrot this time but a celery, a Limbo Celery, and it graced him with four hunger- and thirst-free hours.
Daru recalled that the Lost Damnedling that fell victim to his blade had been carrying a Hellberry and seemed to have been en route to store it at the shelf where it hid the Limbo Carrot.
The Limbo Celery was probably owned by another of the hunched abominations, and that owner would most likely return to either eat or fetch it.
A chance.
He quickly laid in wait, positioning himself near the doorway.
If he were the owner of the celery, he wouldn't leave it for long, so the Damnedling would probably return soon, hopefully within fifteen minutes, as Daru was not fond of waiting.
He had nothing else to do.
Thus, his thoughts ran rampant again. Daru froze for a moment as realization struck.
'A-Aren't I just a filthy thief?'
