[You have obtained (1) Pill of Eternal Nourishment (Baal's Domain)]
Daru shook his head again, then scoffed in disbelief…for the fourth time.
He found it difficult not to hate whoever this Baal was, who not only cursed but also forced a tattoo upon him.
He was only able to calm down a few deep breaths later.
Shaking his head one last time, Daru accessed the inventory to check the two items he obtained.
He was a bit more interested in the first one, simply because its name didn't contain the hateful word "Baal", so he checked the black book first.

'An…ABC book?'
"Hmph, I refuse to learn the language of that filth," Daru muttered in sheer displeasure, but then, he froze and cleared his throat.
On second thought, it was probably better if he learned it, even if only in his spare time.
After all, how would he be able to admonish Baal effectively if he couldn't even speak the language of this Lord of the Flies?
'How fitting. He's indeed irritating like a fly.'
Finding further peace in the thought, he moved on to the other item.

Daru's brows rose after reading the item's description.
'So this Baal guy is a Demon King, huh? Fancy title…He's probably strong, too…'
Suddenly, he found Baal more interesting and a little less hateful, partly because the pill solved his sustenance problem.
He didn't need to infiltrate the kitchen anymore and could fully concentrate on his mission.
Done with checking the items, Daru popped the pill in his mouth, but since it was too big to be swallowed in one gulp, he munched on it.
His brows rose.
He was ready to taste something like bitter sins and tiring labors, but instead, the pill tasted like strawberries.
'Hmm…I guess one truly shouldn't judge a book by its cover. If he were kicked out of his position, that demon king would make for a good pharmaceutical scientist. Many kids would probably like the vitamin tablets he would formulate…'
With that final thought, Daru was finally able to temporarily put his anger for Baal at the back of his head, focusing on what he felt.
Nothing changed.
In the end, Daru could only shrug impassively. He would eventually know whether the pill was effective or not.
For now, he decided to continue looking around. Perhaps there was more to be gained in the heretical hall?
Daru took his time, but aside from the pulsing sigils that didn't respond to his palm and the horrifying image of the three-headed spider king, who was most likely the Demon King called Baal, there was nothing else.
Well, there were scribbles, but he couldn't understand them yet.
It was also way too early to be thinking of returning once he had learned the Goetian Language, especially when it was still unclear whether he could live through the challenges and leave Limbo.
So, for now, what Daru thought of was finding an exit.
The moment he did, he felt something…guidance?
Daru was initially planning to go back and check the rotating wall he entered from, and although his newfound instincts didn't necessarily tell him that doing so would be a waste of time, the urge to follow the subconscious guidance was quite strong, to the point that he immediately noticed it.
His brows furrowed in wonder.
In the end, he decided to follow where he was being pointed to — towards the Demon King's image.
Daru walked closer, soon finding himself standing face to face with the gigantic horror painted on the walls.
He then extended his hands instinctively.
The moment his palms made contact with a part of the image's leg, a four-legged spider sigil pulsed once, and the wall rumbled, revealing another crimson hidden hallway as a part of it sank to the floor.
The air smelled ancient, as if the passage hadn't been used in a far longer time than the one he entered from.
Strangely, although it was just as harrowing in terms of appearance as the other hallway and the heretical hall, the feeling of wariness within him had vanished.
Daru even felt quite safe now.
So, after thinking about it for a while, he decided not to leave yet and stay the night here.
If he ignored the ghostly, crimson light, the eerily breathing sigils, the horrifying image of a monarch among demons, the burnt smell, and the king's demonic legion drawn in the walls of the hallway he entered from, the heretical hall was quite cozy.
The mountains and the half-dead forests on this side of the Underworld River could be considered safe.
However, while sleeping in alcoves and tree hollows protected him to a certain degree, it wouldn't be as safe as the stone temple hall of a Demon King.
With the [Pill of Eternal Nourishment], there was no need for him to worry about sustenance anymore, which meant that he was free to explore the variations of what would happen to the horrors if he stole the blossom addict's plants, for example, and other such scenarios.
Would the horrors be weakened, or would they grow stronger?
Such a task was daunting and dangerous. Being in tip-top condition would be a huge boon, and only in this place could he rest and relax in the truest sense.
It was still a little early, but he could always rest early.
In exchange, he would also be able to start the day tomorrow early as well. Perhaps the wraiths had also gone back to their posts by then.
Having decided to stay the night in the demonic hall, Daru retrieved his sleeping bag, laid it down on the ancient stone floor near the stone table, and nestled in.
'Ahh…this is quite nice…'
