Witnessing the quick fall of their strongest, all the Lunaris present quickly drifted into the air.
The twenty-six gigantic and muscular Lunaris generals floated in front of the one thousand plus soldiers, their aura flaring violently, making the area around them inhabitable for weaker beings.
CRACK... CRUMBLE.
At that moment, the three knocked-down Lunaris nobles dug their way out of the pit they had all fallen into.
They weakly floated up and stood in front of their army, staring in the direction of the man who had struck them down with such ease and speed that none of them even noticed how they were hit—only how they plunged down.
The figures of the three had weakened. Their powerful aura flickered from time to time as they struggled to keep it stable. Their current state could only be described as disoriented.
Their eyes were now fixed on the golden figure interacting with the other humans far away. Curiosity flickered within them—who was this man that possessed such immense strength?
They wanted to know, even though an image from twenty years ago began to surface in their minds.
But they did not come to a quick conclusion. Two decades ago, during that fateful visit, the hero of humanity wasn't this powerful. And according to their sources, he shouldn't even be on Arden at this time—he was supposed to be away on a mission to another planet.
Under their curious gaze, the figure finished speaking with the humans and turned toward them.
The three nobles, whose vision far surpassed that of their army, saw his face clearly—and the moment they recognized him, their expressions crumbled.
It was him.
The one who had singlehandedly forced them to retreat to their planets twenty years ago. The one known as the Hero of Humanity—Axel Storm, their greatest enemy.
"I-it is him!"
The three of them shivered uncontrollably as memories of that battle replayed in their minds.
Scenes of his devastating power resurfaced—images of their fellow nobles being smashed apart by his overwhelming strength, and the memories of hundreds of their soldiers crumbling under his might.
The three nobles turned to their army, fear clouding their gazes.
"Prepare the ships... We leave immediately!" they barked.
But it was already too late. A thunderous supersonic boom tore across the sky, shaking the heavens as the golden figure blasted toward them at unimaginable speed.
The nobles' faces paled. They quickly changed their command.
"Attack, everyone! Protect your nobles, even if it means sacrificing your lives!"
Their voices were loud but shaky. Yet their soldiers had been trained to obey without hesitation. Even in the face of death, none dared to ignore their orders.
The twenty-six generals, beings with strength surpassing even high-ranking hunters like Crimson Sterling, raised their massive hands and brought them down in unison, signaling the one thousand plus soldiers behind them to charge toward the approaching figure.
The twenty-six generals activated their abilities and shot forward to intercept Axel Storm.
The shadows of the Lunaris army blanketed the streets below as they streaked through the air toward their target.
As the army closed in on the Seeker, the three Lunaris nobles turned away from the battlefield and fled at full speed toward their ships hovering invisibly in the sky.
With a single-word command, the thirteen sleek black spaceships that had remained unseen suddenly revealed themselves. The runic lines etched along their bodies flared to life as the deep hum of awakening engines filled the sky.
The three nobles raced toward the ships, desperate to escape Arden, while their army neared Axel Storm.
Axel's golden eyes dimmed with annoyance and boredom as he watched the entire scene unfold.
As he saw the vast army flying towards him, a single word appeared in his mind, "Weak."
He paused midair, lifting one finger lazily, with less effort than one would use to hold a cup of coffee.
Golden energy appeared, swirling and warping at the tip of his finger, expanding at a frightening pace.
In just a single second, the once small sphere of golden energy had grown into a blazing miniature sun. The air turned chaotic as its power distorted the wind, radiating strength no human could possibly contain.
The sight of this glowing sphere made the Lunaris army falter, their flight slowing as realization sank in.
But before the generals could bark an order for their soldiers to scatter, it was already too late.
The golden mass erupted forward, breaking the sound barrier as it blazed across the sky. The clouds vanished, torn apart by the sheer force of its passage.
The Lunaris army was first blinded by its glow, so bright that even with their hands shielding their faces, the intensity still affected them before the true effect of the blast began to take place.
The weak soldiers at the frontline dematerialized at once, turning into fluttering tiny speckles of their former selves before vanishing from existence without even the mercy to let out a final cry of death.
The generals at the front took less time to dissolve out of existence before it happened regardless.
The golden mass continued cutting through the army without stopping.
Hundreds of soldiers dissolved from existence per second, and in less than ten seconds, the entirety of the Lunaris army was wiped out.
The onlookers of both races reacted differently to the sight of such power.
The humans, the hunters who stood far away, had their breaths stolen.
For a long second, silence ruled.
Then one of them dropped to his knees. Another followed, and soon many did the same.
Some pressed trembling hands against their chests, tears glinting in their eyes as they stared at the man floating amidst the fading golden light.
They didn't see a man anymore. They saw a being beyond reach — divine, absolute.
The golden glow around him felt like sunlight piercing through endless darkness, the same darkness that had once almost devoured their world. Some hunters clasped their hands together as if in prayer, whispering words of gratitude under shaky breaths. Others simply stood there, unmoving, their hearts thundering with awe and disbelief.
Far across the city, the three Lunaris nobles who were now mounting the cockpit of their spaceships watched, frozen by what they had just witnessed.
Their eyes widened, and their bodies shook uncontrollably as the golden light slowly faded from the sky. The reflection of that blinding glow still burned in their pupils, and the pressure it left behind made it hard to breathe.
They turned toward the empty sky where their mighty army once filled the air, but now there was nothing. Not even ashes remained, as they were not just slain but wiped out of existence entirely.
The realization struck deep, and their faces turned pale. The pride they once felt disappeared, replaced with dread.
They could not wait any longer.
The three fidgeted, voices cracking as they gave each other orders to get the ship ready to flee.
"Get the ship ready now! Move!"
"Hurry before he—"
But it was already too late.
The eyes of the man they dreaded were now staring at them.
Even though the ship was made with materials impenetrable to all eyes, his gaze not only found them but focused directly on them as though nothing was shielding them.
Without any doubt, they knew it was over for them.
