Inside the mansion, the heavy doors closed behind them, shutting out the smoke, noise, and chaos of the city.
For the first time since the attack began, it was quiet.
Misty was still shaking. She stayed close to her father, her fingers clenched tightly in his clothes, her eyes unfocused. The earlier terror hadn't left her yet—the image of the troll's twisted face and the screams outside were still fresh in her mind.
"It's okay," her mother said softly, kneeling in front of her. "It's over now. You're safe."
Misty didn't say anything. She only hugged her father tighter.
Seeing this, her mother's heart ached even more.
"Those…" she began, fury rising in her voice.
Mike gently patted her shoulder, calming her.
"Just stay with Misty for now," he said quietly. "She's clearly shaken."
His mother nodded, and together they headed to their room.
Rumble!!
As soon as they were gone, Mike roared and punched the wall in anger.
"It's all my fault. I brought them here," he said, gritting his teeth.
"It's not your fault, Mike—it's those bastard fanatics," Lily said firmly.
"But Misty…" Mike continued, his voice strained. "She's shivering. She can't even look around."
Lily shook her head softly. "It's okay. Priest-class awakened have calming and heart-soothing skills. They can help her."
Mike looked at her as he heard this. "Do you know any priests?"
"Yes," Lily's father answered. "Many of them work in our hospitals alongside healers."
"I can even call a few of my friends to see if they know any priests in Lionheart City," he added.
Mike nodded, relief flickering in his eyes. "Thank you."
Lily's father nodded back and stepped away, calling his wife as well. They left to make arrangements.
Mike returned to his room alone, his steps heavy.
Lily wanted to say something—but seeing the pain and tension in his shoulders, she knew he needed time.
So she stayed silent.
Mike returned to his room and sat down on the bed.
"You better not let me meet you again," he muttered, his voice cold.
"I will kill every one of you fanatics."
"Shadow," Mike called out.
Shadow emerged from the darkness. "You should relax a bit," he said calmly. "Being angry isn't going to change anything."
"I know," Mike replied. "That's why I decided this."
He looked straight at Shadow.
"From now on, go undercover and join those fanatics."
Shadow froze for a moment—then grinned.
"Yeah… that's a damn good idea," he said with a laugh.
Mike nodded.
"Get undercover. Find all their bases," Mike said coldly.
"And then we'll destroy them all."
Shadow hesitated. "But it won't be easy."
Mike looked at him.
"Didn't you notice?" Shadow continued. "All of those masked fanatics were carrying blessings. Even if they were minor, every single one of them had one. If I infiltrate them, I'll most likely be forced to receive a blessing too. Won't that expose us?"
Mike's expression tightened, then he nodded.
"You're right. We'll need a disguising skill or an item," he said.
Shadow chuckled. "Just ask that naughty Saintess. I'm sure if you ask, she'll open her empire's treasury for you."
Mike nodded slowly. "Hm. I'll ask her."
Then his expression softened slightly.
"But for now, until Misty returns to her usual self, I'm not going back to the Origin World."
Shadow inclined his head. "Understood."
"I'll going out then," Shadow said. "I'll see how things look on the outside."
With that, he vanished.
Mike exhaled and opened the Supernational Association app on his phone, searching for any calming-heart–type skills or items.
"She also has the scented bunny… maybe I can buy something edible that, once eaten, will release a calming scent through its ability," he muttered.
The bunny he had bought for her possessed a special trait: after eating something, it released the consumed item's scent from its body, carrying over some of its properties.
He started by checking the skills section, but he couldn't find any suitable skills that could help her calm down.
So he shifted his search to the materials and herbs section, specifically looking for something compatible with the scented bunny.
After filtering by aromatic, emotion-affecting, and beast-safe, a few results finally appeared.
Most were useless—either too weak, too volatile, or outright dangerous for a child.
Then one listing caught his eye.
[Mooncalm Petal – Uncommon Material]
Description: A pale-blue flower that releases a soothing fragrance when metabolized. Known to reduce fear responses, stabilize heart rate, and ease emotional shock. Commonly used by priest-class awakened in trauma wards.
Note: Effects are gentle but persistent. Safe for beasts and children.
Mike's fingers paused over the screen.
"This…" he murmured.
He opened the detailed report. The comments confirmed it—many healers used it as a secondary aid for patients suffering from post-battle shock. It wasn't a miracle cure, but it helped people breathe easier, think clearer… feel safe.
Exactly what Misty needed right now.
Without hesitation, Mike purchased it.
A soft chime rang as the transaction completed, and the delivery timer began counting down—15 minutes, priority transport.
Mike leaned back slightly, rubbing his face with one hand.
"Just hold on a little longer," he whispered, not sure if he was talking to Misty… or to himself.
When the knock finally came, Mike was already at the door.
A sealed container was handed over. The moment he opened it, a faint, cool fragrance drifted out—clean and gentle, like earth smell after rain.
Mike nodded at the sight before turning toward his parents' room and knocking on the door.
"She's asleep," his father said as he opened it. When he saw Mike standing there, his tone softened.
"I brought something that can help her," Mike said, showing him the flower.
His father's eyes widened. "Is this Mooncalm Petal?" he asked in surprise.
Mike nodded.
He was stunned. Despite being only an uncommon material, Mooncalm Petals were extremely rare. A single petal cost nearly one million credits—yet Mike was holding an entire flower with six petals. That meant it was worth well over six million credits.
His own salary was only ten thousand credits a month.
"Just feed it to her pet," Mike said calmly. "With her bunny, the scent will spread through the whole room."
With that, he turned and left.
His father stared at the flower in his hands for a long moment, then nodded and slowly closed the door.
