"That's normal," she replied calmly. "Legendary spirits rarely form contracts with humans. Most never even see one in their lifetime."
She circled him slowly, studying him with interest. "You're different. You possess peak affinity not just with Infrno, but with sun, fire, and magma as well. Your compatibility is absurdly high."
She smiled faintly. "To be honest, it's like you were made to wield heat itself."
Mike scratched his head awkwardly. "I didn't really know it was that high," he admitted. "I knew my affinity for fire was strong… just not this strong."
She smiled knowingly. "Few ever realize how deep their affinity truly runs until they touch the threshold of a higher existence."
He looked at her. "So… what's the difference between Spirit Magic and a Spirit Weapon?"
She raised her hand, and a faint flame shaped like a blade flickered above her palm.
"Spirit Magic," she began, "is power you borrow. You cast spells using our element—fire, ice, lightning, whatever it may be. It's flexible, versatile, and powerful, but it still relies on your contracted spirit level and rank."
The flame shifted, condensing, becoming sharper.
"A Spirit Weapon," she continued, "is different. It is a part of us given form. A living extension of our will. It grows with you, feeds on your power, and evolves as you do."
Mike's eyes widened slightly.
"Unlike normal weapons, it can't be stolen, broken, or lost. It responds only to its master. And as your strength increases, it evolves—unlocking new abilities, new forms, even intelligence."
Mike exhaled slowly. "So basically… Spirit Magic is borrowing power. Spirit Weapon is partnership."
She smiled. "Exactly."
She looked at him steadily, her crimson eyes glowing softly.
"That's why Legendary Spirits like me are so highly sought after," she said. "We can become more than just power—we become partners."
Mike nodded. "Then give it to me."
She tilted her head slightly. "Do you have a suitable vessel? If not, I can only make it a pure Spirit Weapon of Inferno. Powerful, yes—but it can be more powerful. If you had a proper vessel, the result would be far greater."
Mike shook his head. "Not right now. I don't have anything suitable."
That was the truth. If he wanted to create a powerful Spirit Weapon, it would need a Mythical-grade vessel, something worthy of housing a being like her. Using anything less would be a waste.
"It's fine," she said calmly. "I can give it to you later, once you obtain a proper vessel."
Mike nodded. "By the way… Can the ability given be swapped, I mean Cryace already gave me the Ice Spirit Magic but can it now be changed into Spirit Weapon?"
She shook her head lightly. "Not yet. Cryace is still young, he has just evolved into Legendary Rank. Creating a Spirit Weapon requires time, stability, and growth. I needed decades to form mine."
She glanced at him sideways. "A newborn spirit like him simply can't do that yet."
Mike nodded. "Alright. Then I'll wait until I have the proper vessel."
She smiled faintly. "Good. When the time comes, I'll be ready."
She then turned, her eyes glowing faintly as she looked toward the ruined capital ahead.
"Do you want me to fight?" she asked, a trace of eagerness in her voice.
Mike smiled. "Yeah. Go ahead."
The moment he spoke, she vanished in a flash of crimson light.
A second later—
BOOM.
A wave of infernal fire erupted across the ruined city. Pillars of flame shot into the sky as entire sections of buildings melted under overwhelming heat. Shockwaves rippled outward, turning the ground molten.
From within the blazing inferno, her silhouette moved like a living flame—graceful, devastating, unstoppable.
Mike watched calmly as the battlefield was reduced to ruins.
"Yeah…" he muttered, watching the inferno tear through the ruined streets.
"She really lives up to her name."
Mike shifted his focus and pulled out the katana he had taken from Leviathan. The blade was sleek, curved, and faintly cold to the touch—already powerful, but it can be more powerful now.
"Midas Touch"
He placed his hand on the hilt and activated Midas Touch.
Golden light surged from his palm, flowing across the blade like liquid sunlight. Runes flared to life along the steel, reshaping and refining it. The air vibrated as the sword absorbed the power, its aura growing sharper, heavier—dangerous.
As the light finally faded, the sword in Mike's hand looked completely different.
The blade was no longer pure white steel like—it now gleamed with a crystalline blue edge, sharp and pristine, as if carved from eternal ice. Intricate frost-blue runes ran along its length, glowing softly with cold energy. Even the scabbard had changed; what was once plain white was now covered in elegant snowflake patterns and flowing frost-lines that shimmered faintly.
Mike blinked in surprise.
"…Even the scabbard changed?"
Curious, he activated Appraisal on it.
