"N–No matter how pathetic I may seem, I need your help. I'm even ready to offer my soul, my body, and my mind…everything about me. In return… I need my revenge!!"
Silveria spoke with her forehead on the ground; her whole body was trembling.
Rahu smiled as he heard her words and waved his hand. Silveria jolted upwards, floating in the air.
"I accept."
Rahu said. Hearing his words, Silveria's eyes widened in surprise. An indescribable sense of happiness and gratitude welled up inside her. She slowly landed on the ground, her eyes still on Rahu.
"...I thank you for your support, but you don't have to do everything. I will kill all of them with my own hands. Just hold off the peak powerhouses," Silveria smiled brightly.
"Good, those were the words I was waiting to hear. You haven't disappointed mez" Rahu nodded. This was the whole intention of this drama: he wanted to make her stand on her own, to fight for herself, and when her mind registered that there was a pillar she could rely on, her courage returned.
"Mhm"
"So, your physique has suppressed your cultivation so you can enter the realm?" After a few minutes, he asked. Hearing his question, Silveria shook her head.
"No, my physique is called Fate Reflection Physique. It's still in its budding stages, so it just reflected the effects of the rules here… at least to some extent."
What she said was true. It had concealed Silveria's true cultivation and had smuggled her into the realm.
"You said it was from your grandfather, right?" Rahu suddenly asked, his voice curious.
"...Yes? What about it?"
"It's just…never mind. We will discuss this matter later," Rahu stopped midway and spoke in a final tone.
But in his mind, he was incredibly confused. Like…how the fuck does a Fate Physique holder die from a sneak attack? The question was incredibly stupid…Of course, that old man hadn't been killed in a sneak attack. It has to be something else.
But for now, he suppressed his curiosity and glanced at the battlefield.
It was chaos. Utter chaos, loud clangs of swords clashed everywhere. Hundreds of thousands of elements were flashing every second.
His cold eyes swept every corner of the battlefield, calculating the costs and lives. After glancing for a second, he nodded in satisfaction. Not many have been killed yet; there have been around five thousand to six thousand deaths as of now.
After all, in a large-scale war such as this. It was foolish to just rush in and die in vain. Then finally, his gaze landed on his women, who were standing in the midst of the battlefield.
The first one was, of course, Azaria, who was standing together with her House cultivators. There was chanting and shouting her name in joy and reverence. They were all surprised by her sudden return; they were scared shitless by the sudden emergence of the wave of cultivators. And the one leading them was good…But not good enough, he was nowhere near becoming as strong as Azaria Ravencar herself.
So, now that Azaria had returned, she had taken control of her Housemen. During her time with Rahu, she had learned many things from him.
The first rule of any battle or war was simple: remaining calm.
It was one of the things he had drilled in her mind and…well, holes. Only a mind strong enough to resist the psychological pressure from the enemies could function properly on the battlefield.
Panic distorts and clouds the judgment, anger narrows the perception, and fear basically invites mistakes.
Before issuing a command, she assessed the battlefield…their formation, their state of troops, their rotation. The cannon fodder, the veterans, and finally the dangerous ones.
Marching towards their House were two of the Demonic Houses. House Asura and Half of the forces of House Kindhar.
It was basically a suicide to directly face them head-on, but who was she? She was Azaria Ravencar! She had the backing of one of the strongest…Heck, she had the backing of the strongest entity present in the realm. Her man was behind her, so what was there more to fear?
Rahu smiled when he saw her rushing onto the battlefield with dual swords in her hand. Slaughtering the cultivators of Yvaris like vegetables.
Opposite to her was the Divine Sword Sect, headed by Elyon and Seris. Well, Seris was basically fighting on her own while the Divine Sword was attacking in disciplined formations.
Still, slaughtering hundreds of them in mere seconds. But this was all useless; the enemy kept on pressing relentlessly.
On the right side of the Ravencars were the Umbra, headed by Maryam herself. Rahu looked at her curiously. As true to her surname, she was wielding the Darkness element. But her Darkness was overbearing and pressing, corrupting and killing even the Nocthen House cultivators.
Behind her were the House Crimson; they were a bunch of true warriors. A sword in their hand and their grip compressed into claws. They were ripping through the enemies like beasts. A tall man with blood red hair was leading them. He was also the one who had attended the meeting with the rest of the leaders.
And finally, completing the circle were House Bloodforge and two other supreme sects. Burning peak sect and Heaven Refining Body sect.
Despite the killings and formations, deep down, they knew it. They were going to lose…no, they were going to be slaughtered mercilessly.
Overall, they had already lost close to a few thousand men and women. But the enemy has lost double their losses.
Severin, too, had joined in the war, slaughtering and killing the Solterra cultivators.
Thalia had blended among the Solterra cultivators, specifically House Elyra. Annoying beings with the element of light, a direct opposite of her element. But she had taken it as a challenge and charged right ahead.
Her peak Origin Realm cultivation erupted as tendrils of shadows spread out from her body.
But the most interesting one was Anaria, behind her back, numerous black hands were appearing out of her body, overlapping each other and killing the enemies! The war shook the ground as bodies dropped down like mosquitoes.
...
"XINYI!! HOW DARE YOU!?" A loud roar rang out.
Deep within the ranks of the Rudhra army, a red-haired man clutched his abdomen with his face twisted in fury and rage. Green veins bulged on his forehead and neck as his breathing grew ragged.
Standing before him was a woman who had a calm expression on her face. Unnervingly, so. In her hand rested a knife. It was coated with fresh blood, dripping down its sharp edge and staining the ground beneath her.
Xinyi stood before Raghlar…her ex-husband. The same woman who had once spoken with righteous fury against Lirae and Larae for betraying their husband…was gone. In her place stood someone else entirely.
A creepy, unsettling smile crept onto her face. It wasn't a deliberate or mocking expression because even she hadn't realised that she was smiling in such a way.
Raghlar, her ex-husband, hissed in anger when he saw this scene.
"W-Why!? Y-You, I gave you everything! Yet, you still betray me…WHY!" His bloodline boiled as monstrous pressure rolled from his body like a tidal wave. Hitting Xinyi directly, she staggered a few steps back but managed to hold on.
"Why, you ask? It's simple because I had been foolish and had spoken some words I shouldn't have. So, I have come to correct my mistakes and along the way…earn some merits," She spoke with strong conviction in her voice.
That was true when she saw how Rahu treated Lirae and Larae. She was jealous…Deeply so.
She had tried many ways and techniques to win his attention, but the competition was way too fierce. So there was only one way left…to prove her devotion through action. And that was this ex-husband of hers.
Now, looking at him, she felt nothing. She was feeling desperate…desperate for Rahu's attention. Anything was fine at this point.
She didn't need his praise, she didn't need him all to herself…All she needed was his acknowledgement. And if it demanded the sacrifice of her ex-husband. So be it, she would stain her hand with his blood without any complaints.
"Y-You bitch! You left me for another man!?" Raghlar stared at Xinyi as though she were a stranger, his disbelief clashing with rage.
Xinyi didn't say anything; her figure blurred as she once again stepped into his range, the knife in her hand had long been replaced by a red sword.
Stopping in front of his figure, she slashed her sword directly at his neck.
"DO YOU THINK YOU CAN KILL ME!? BITCHH!!! I WILL RIP YOU APART!!!" Raghlar roared, his voice reaching every corner of the battlefield. Thick veins began to bulge as his body started to expand inch by inch.
With a thought, he disappeared. Xinyi's eyes widened as she felt him appear to her.
BOOM!!
WHOOOSH!!
She didn't even have the time to react before a monstrous fist hit her back. A sickening crunch echoed across the field as her spine cracked.
PUFFF!!
She spurted a mouthful of fresh blood as unimaginable pain erupted from within her.
