Two days ago
Through sheer luck and a bit of Thalia's skills, she had managed to locate one of the bases of the House Rudra.
It was tucked behind a rough cliff, and their small base was little more than a rough clearing. A few miles away from their base. A tall, handsome man could be seen sitting in a lotus position with his hands swaying in the air.
Rahu sighed, his face dripping with sweat. In front of him lay a medium-sized cauldron with small runic carvings on its edges; it was a tripod cauldron.
He's mana flowing smoothly towards the cauldron's contents, navigating the ingredients with masterful precision.
Beside him lay several broken vials, their recent usage evident by the empty contents inside them.
Buzzz Buzzz
The cauldron vibrated as three totally different types of energy were 'trying' to mingle. One was green, one was blue, and the last one was an eerie black liquid.
The green one, of course, was Rahu's natal poison, which is derived from the Soul Tempering Demonic Beasts core. Basically, his poisonous demonic Vital Core.
The second was his mana; it was not your typical mana. This one was the [Dimensional Energy] that was converted from raw mana. Fundamentally, aside from the sky-high difference in the quality, his [Dimensional Energy] provided him no other glaring benefit as of yet.
And lastly, the final ingredient was the…Essence Sealing Orchid.
If Seris were here, she would definitely strangle him for even thinking of using it this way. The task required incredible precision, and the chances of success were abysmally low.
He was continuously releasing his own mana, guiding it as the primary catalyst. At the same time, he controlled the poison, not merely moving it up and down, but managing its very essence and guiding it properly.
Rahu made a grasping motion and flicked his fingers. The poison shifted and slowly began to mend. His mana output doubled in an instant; his body's nervous system would definitely be fired if he didn't have the [Dimensional Core] taking all the burden.
The process was slow; his poison was slowly mixing with the Essence Sealing Orchid. Rahu took a deep breath.
And slowly opened his eyes, a terrifying intent materialised in front of him.
With a will, the purple intent zapped past the mixture. Destroying the remaining impurities and unknown compounds. His mastery over the [Sword Aura] had reached a monstrous level.
Boom!
The cauldron exploded below him! From the depths of the broken cauldron, a few transparent drops of liquid floated towards him. Rahu quickly stored them in a special vial and lay flat on the ground.
"Haah! I haven't been bone-tired since the training! Heh, but the result was worth it! Raising his hand, he glanced at the vial, and three drops of shiny, transparent liquid were hovering inside it.
This…this wasn't just a mere poison! It was a time bomb!
It was a kind of toxin that hid inside the very core of one's being, their core! When one consumes this toxin, it enters their body through the bloodstream without being detected, settling quietly in their core before erupting.
It is such that a cultivator won't be able to react, more specifically, their body couldn't react upon the entry of this poison.
No flush of heat.
No dizziness.
No warning.
Absolutely nothing!
Just an eerie stillness. The poison would only react when it sensed the proximity of the distance between it and the poison inside Rahu's body.
Then it would bloom, breaking the stamina, sealing the Vital core, and locking the meridians for a few hours. The most horrifying thing about this poison was that it would also work on Soul Tempering Realm cultivators!
Rahu's grin stretched wide; it was a success! He was at it for the past thirty hours, continuously experimenting with the process through trial and error.
This was only possible because the properties of his poison's compounds were at least ten percent similar. And one of the most important factors about this position was that it could suppress the other poison in one's body for a limited period of time.
He slowly stood up and turned towards a certain direction. It was a bit far from the base of the Rudras. His eyes zoomed in like a hawk; there he saw it. Three women were hunting a wild demonic beast.
A redhead was leading the two; she was just a head shorter than Rahu and a bit muscular. Rahu smirked seeing her, "Haah, alright. Let's finish this."
…
"Xinyu, that beast is too slippery! And it is running away from our base. We should just let that go and search for other beasts."
A short, average-looking red-haired girl spoke. Hearing her words, the two women nodded.
"Yes, and my husband will be quite worried if I leave the base for such a long time. Let's return." Xinyu, the head of the group and the strongest among the group, spoke.
They had been hunting a rather peculiar boar. It was large and had three times the meat of an average demonic boar. Despite such an enormous amount of meat inside its body, it was incredibly fast. So fast that she, a 2nd-stage Origin Realm cultivator, had failed to catch it in the last few hours.
And they had wandered a bit away from their base, too. Xinyu stepped forward, although this was a bit humiliating for them to return to their base empty-handed. It was certainly better than encountering something unknown or dangerous.
"Larae, any new information about the inheritance?" the third woman, who was walking beside the short woman, asked.
"Nope, nothing. Even our leaders have absolutely no clue. We just discovered some old treasure and weapons, though valuable in Yvaris. It is worthless here," Larae shook her head and sighed. Hearing her words, Xinyu laughed.
"Hehe, don't lose hope so fas—!" Just as she was about to finish her words, her entire body stiffened. Her eyes rolled back in her head and
Thud!
"XINYU??!!" The girls panicked and ran towards their friend.
"Hey! Wake up! What happened?" Laraes shook Xinyu's body. The other woman, equally panicked, quickly checked Xinyu's pulse.
"H-Her meridian and core are blocked!!" The woman spoke as she examined Xinyu's body. She was horrified!
"W-What!? How…what in the hell just happened!?"
Just as they were about to feed her a pill, a playful voice echoed.
"Oh dear…she seems hurt."
