Getting Married to a Yandere Princess

Chapter 62: Ch 62: Leaderboard

That night, just after everyone had fallen asleep, he rose up from his small bed.

Earlier, Bernard had informed him that the authorities inside the Isikolo related to security had given him the permission to keep the training hall unlocked for the night. "Even though they did say it was a rather odd request, they didn't actually show much stubborness. But make sure you don't take out any of the wooden weapons out of there or do something that would get you into trouble with them." Bernard had cautioned firmly.

David creeped slowly near the bed of the nameless girl and shook her thin form. She opened her eyes groggily, squinting them to see who it was disturbing her.

"Sister...get up, didn't you say me you would go to the fields?" Internally though, David was complaining about the lack of names for both of them.

'Calling her sister is sweet but still...weird.'

"Ahh...brother. About that, I am strong already. So me going to sleep...you go." Saying that, she flipped on the other side, dragging the blanket dangling from the bed and went back to sleep.

David sighed as he patted her head once before going away. 'Alone it is then.'

Quickly he stepped inside the training hall, some of the cold winds swooping inside with him.

His second day of training under the covers of the nights started. At first he did all the things their claw had been doing during the day - running around the field, practicing their own techniques and meditating.

'Mage and Assassin...I have been ignoring these two. If the system has detected my styles are more compatible with these two classes, why was I trying to be a fighter?'

Saying that, he summoned his system screen.

Stats

----------

Class: Mage(Aspiring), Assassin(Aspiring)

Abilities: Vision

Pathway:

Elements: Wind

Tier: I (153/300 soul fragments)

----------

It was exactly the same as the last time but David didn't find problem with it.

Even he knew that the improvement of most of these stats depended on certain factors, and at that moment, his movements were restricted alongside his lack of substantial knowledge.

He activated Vision as the world around him changed. It was like watching a black canvas covering your entire eyesight, blotted with thin, red lines of mana, forming patterns and outlines of living creatures and with blue mana lines lingering in the air, which was the more abundant one.

Taking his sword, he approached one of the living creatures - a small spider, and drove the tip of the weapon through it. With a squelching burst, it fell dead.

David's eyes shifted to his system screen, awaiting something.

But to his utter disappointment, his soul fragments didn't increase. 'Not unexpected...but still..."

Sighing, he walked away. His next set of trainings involved mastering his battle art, all the while using his wind element.

He slashed his sword, bending his knees, at times dashing forwards and trying to form different combos with his weapon and wind.

After a while, he noted something: The rate of mana for creating wind was significantly higher than using mana to manipulate the wind around him.

Logically, it would make more sense to thus use your element from the surroundings rather than create the said element using mana. But practically, for the lower and medium tier individuals, such a method was inefficient.

Manipulating elements from your surroundings was significantly harder and in the process, awakened people often wasted a lot of mana in doing a work successfully.

'But if mastered, that would be a game changer.' David rubbed his chin, completing his own train of thoughts.

For the next few days, the training continued.

And each day, David improved upon his techniques, working day and night on incorporating his element into his swordplay.

At first, it was turning out to be a huge failure. He would make a hypothetical situation and practice his technique in midnight, only for the said theory to fail miserably during the sparring sessions.

Nevertheless, even though faces with such failure, he wasn't losing his duels so easily, merely relying and even pushing few opponents to the brink of their defeat.

On the fourteen or two weeks of their stay in the Isikolo, Master Zamian entered the training hall with a huge wooden plank on which something had been scribbled.

And in front of all the curious members of Claw Zamian, he slammed down the board.

In a calm voice, Zamian explained.

"This right here contains the number of victories and defeats each of you have suffered during these two whole weeks. Consider it as an official ranking amongst yourselves.

No other claw does this, I know. Their focus remains unmoved on team coordination. To them, having a rankboard and establishing a hierarchy in their own claw is seen as a great sin.

But my methods of teaching happen to be a bit different."

He paused for a moment and then in a suggestive manner, spoke. "I am quite sure that by now, you must have been the other claws looks strangely at you, maintaining an unspoken distance from you all.

Sure, few of your pompous mates are to be blamed for this. But that's not completely true. The major reason is me. Not only are my methods regularly criticised and this constant bithching of me and my claw has affected their own disciples." A solemn smile graced his lips, as if apologizing to them.

Aeris suddenly snorted. "No need to apologise to us, Master. I didn't like a lot of them anyways. You said in the beginning of some Royal Tournament right? Don't worry, we shall beat up their asses then and show why you have the achievements you have."

From the side, Harith came out in support as well. "Indeed, Master. Don't take those karens into your consideration. They ain't the worth of your time."

Zamian smiled at their words. "Thank you for the moral support. But...do look at the leaderboard. I shall update it everyday and from today, this board shall reside in your common room."

David moved forward with them, wanting to see his own records.

'Fuck! 3 victories and...31 defeats??'

As if that was not surprising enough, he was even ranked twenty sixth out of the thirty one members of his claw.

His fingers drawled to the last member of their claw. Seeing the stats of the poor individual, he felt his condition was thrice better than that guy's.

'Let us see who is dominating the top!'

At the top of the leaderboard, the nameless girl, code name "Z2" rested comfortably with a total of 51 victories in just two weeks and not a single defeat. Truly an unbeatable prodigy!

At the second position was Brynden, defeated only by the nameless girl.

The name was followed by Aeris, Chumiyo which took David by surprise and lastly, Harith. The top five of Claw Zamian.
