The Miraculous Treasure Hunting System

Chapter 120. Explanation

"Oh, and one last piece of advice: if you can impress a rich, lonely woman, you might even earn some pocket money for a job well done..."

"NO WAY! F*ck, why did I never think of that?!" Jason grabbed his hair in annoyance, wondering why he'd wasted so much time and money. If he'd thought of this earlier, he could have made a fortune instead of losing money. There is no shame in being gigalo if his partner is a hot milf, with a lot of money.

"Everything in its time, BOY. Now stop complaining and quickly bring out the kit. We need to change our outfits. It would be troublesome if someone recognized us. We can't give the captain any reason to find fault, or he'll torture us to death with that dead-fish stare of his. I'd pay to see him smile. Stone Mother knows when he last smiled. If I had a father like that, I'd surely have mental problems," Ed said, shaking his head.

"Indeed. And the way Elena gives off a vibe more violent than any boy, with her monstrous fighting style... we can already see the problem. Poor girl. Now I feel sorry for her. I wonder how traumatic and loveless her childhood must have been," Jason nodded with an understanding look.

After that, they found a secluded spot, changed into the clothes of random poor passersby, disheveled their long hair, and finally, while cursing Vanessa, poured a stinky, colorless liquid over themselves that smelled like someone who hadn't bathed in a week, before making their way to the city gate.

A new guard came forward to check them, but when he caught a whiff of their not-so-sweet fragrance, he instantly made a U-turn, cursing loudly about "two sewer toads."

The entry fee collector didn't even approach them for payment, demonstrating the effectiveness of Vanessa's "human-dispelling" potion.

"Although it smells unbearable, the effect is very good," Jason said, trying his best not to vomit while greedily gulping fresh air.

Ed wasn't much better. They hurried to a decent tavern, paid for a room under the angry glare of the boss, and rushed in to take a serious bath and wash away the disgusting smell.

...

When Ed emerged from his room two hours later, wearing normal clothes under a large black hooded robe to hide his face, Jason had already left. He had too many ideas in his mind about finding a rich girlfriend; how could he waste time on formalities like waiting for Ed or saying goodbye?

"Ungrateful bastard," Ed cursed before hurriedly walking out of the tavern. He glanced around, confirmed nothing was amiss, and made his way toward the inner city where he had rented the house and where Kaila lived.

To reach the inner city, he had to pass another checkpoint guarded by two guards tasked with keeping out the riff-raff ( poor people ).

Thankfully, it wasn't difficult. He simply bought a set of fine clothes, applied some makeup to look paler and redder-lipped like a noble, and confidently tapped his walking stick on the ground as he approached the inner city entrance.

As anyone might expect from two supremely bored guards tired of their monotonous lives but unwilling to leave their comfort zone, they gave him a slight nod, and he passed through easily. If they had tried to stop him, Ed was ready to cause a big commotion to attract attention before slipping away.

"Much easier than expected. Now, what kind of gift should I bring for my sweet Kaila? She'll definitely be very pissed and might even think I just used her to hide from the guards. Hopefully, those people didn't give her too much trouble, considering how many saw her with me," Ed muttered as he entered a flower shop.

He bought her favorite flowers, which he had seen all over her house, then bought some sweets and a dozen stamina potions. The total expense burned through 12 silver coins, a huge sum to spend before earning anything from his sugar mommy.

...

Knock-knock.

"Yes? What can I do for you?" As Ed expected, it was Kaila who opened the door. Sometimes, he wondered why she even hired maids, as she often seemed busy with household work like a normal housewife, not giving off a noble lady vibe at all. She cooked her own food, cleaned the house sometimes, maintained her flowers and garden, and even answered the door herself, no matter how busy she was.

He had once asked why, but she dismissed the topic, saying it helped pass the time and maintain her figure. But Ed sensed a deeper story he wasn't yet qualified to know yet.

Anyway, back to the moment. Because Ed wore heavy makeup and held a large bouquet covering half his face, Kaila didn't recognize him immediately.

"Forgotten me so easily?" Ed asked, with a soft bang and a burst of flower petals, making the bouquet disappear before hugging Kaila with a smile.

Kaila's eyes widened in shock, which quickly turned to anger. She might not have recognized his face, but she could never forget the voice of the bastard who had fooled her the entire time just to hide from the guards and play with her poor heart.

"It's you... How dare you come back... Gua— Mmm!"

Just as an angry Kaila was about to call the guards, Ed, like an understanding husband, sealed her lips with his, not giving her a chance to scream. He then lifted her slightly by her buttocks, carried her inside, and kicked the door shut with his leg.

Thankfully, it was early morning. Most maids were busy in the garden, kitchen, or cleaning, and no one was in the main hall, giving Ed and Kaila some private time.

"Sorry for all the trouble, dear. Please give me a chance to explain. If I can't satisfy you, I'll immediately turn around, disappear from your life, and never come back," Ed said with a pleading look after nearly suffocating Kaila with his deep, passionate kiss while she gasped for air.

Kaila, though still angry, was obviously in a much better mood because of the kiss. She pouted a bit before finally nodding. She still held some hope that others might have been making a mountain out of a molehill and that Ed wasn't some super-wanted criminal.

"Shall we go to your bedroom? It would be troublesome if someone saw us together like this," Ed asked with an excited smile. In his excitement, he couldn't help squeezing the bubbly buttocks he'd been holding the entire time.

Kaila, her face already tomato red, gave him a light fist hammer on his chest for taking advantage and pushed him away before walking toward her upstairs bedroom without a word.

Ed, knowing his sugar mommy had almost forgiven him before he'd even explained anything, cheered excitedly, slamming a fist in the air before quickly catching up to her. He tried to put his arm around her shoulder, but she coldly moved it away, pretending to still be angry.
