The Miraculous Treasure Hunting System

Chapter 99. A Treasure from Youth

After several days of sailing, the Blue Fist finally arrived at its destination: Sacred Armor Island, located within the sphere of influence of the Holy Mother Church. It slid slowly into its berth at the harbor.

As they were within the Church's domain, Andre addressed the group directly. "We'll only stay on the island for half a day. You must be back on the ship by 6 PM. The rest of the time is yours."

With that, he jumped off the ship and headed toward the port town. As an agent of the Church, he only needed to state his request at the local chapel, and arrangements would be made.

Their preliminary research had confirmed that while the Golden Horn Hammer was rare, it wasn't exceptionally so on Sacred Armor Island, which specifically protected the insect's ecology.

Looking at the brand-new, unfamiliar island, Ed turned to Elena beside him. "Elena, do you have a map of the island?"

"Your obsession is kicking in," Jason nudged Ed with his elbow, laughing teasingly.

Elena and Jason were the crewmates Ed had been with the longest, over a month now. They were both somewhat aware of his map-loving nature, a habit he cultivated to disguise his real motive.

He wanted a plausible excuse to examine any island's layout, so no one would find it strange when he consulted a map. It was better they think he simply loved cartography than suspect he possessed a magical treasure-finding system attached to his soul.

To his disappointment, Elena shook her head. "No, I've never been to this island either. But tourist maps for a place like this shouldn't be hard to find. You can probably buy one in town."

Sacred Armor Island, with its abundant insects and protective measures, attracted many enthusiasts. The size of the harbor and the ships moored around it offered a clear glimpse of its popularity.

"Then let's go explore. I'm getting tired of being on the ship," Ed said, jumping off the vessel. His physical abilities had improved considerably in the few days since becoming a Toucher, so a drop of a few meters was nothing.

As for his goal for the day, even an idiot could guess: first, buy a map to see if any noteworthy treasure was marked; if so, that would be his priority. Otherwise, he would head straight to a pleasure house, buy some company, and vent his pent-up pressure.

Elena, a cartographer, was also interested in maps and followed. As for Jason, the three young men naturally stuck together.

"Wait for me!"

The three arrived at the town bordering the harbor. It was comparable in size to Turan Island. The island was indeed replete with insect motifs: sculptures on buildings, murals on walls, and themed decorations sold in every shop and stall spoke volumes.

After browsing for a while, Elena successfully purchased a map, while Ed found other supplies he wanted.

"Here, this is the island map," Elena said, handing Ed one of the two copies she bought.

Ed took the map, unfolded it, and blinked. It wasn't highly detailed, but it meticulously marked the divisions of each area.

A detection prompt sounded. A single dot appeared on the map. A blue dot.

Ed ran his finger over the location.

[ Land of Buried Dreams

Treasure Information: In his youth, THAAD was also a renowned treasure hunter and adventurer. The severing of his dream path led him to leave behind the things he had prepared for that journey forever.]

Thaad again? How much does this guy love hiding things?

However, judging from the information, this was something he hid in his youth, during his adventurous stage. Its fame was zero, meaning no one knew he had hidden something here. It seemed less like intentional concealment and more like a detachment from his past.

The difficulty was only "Adult." Looking at the marked location, Ed asked casually, "I'm going to explore other places. Do you want to come along?" He planned to ditch them anyway, but thankfully, they were smarter.

"I'm going back to the ship. I hate bugs," Elena said. Having bought the map, she had no desire to stay on the insect-filled island and headed straight for the port.

Jason shrugged at Ed, then wrapped an arm around his neck. "Now that Elena's gone, you can drop the good-boy facade. Let's go have some fun. I've already found our destination, just a dozen houses away, called 'Sleep Paradise.'"

"You go ahead. I still have to buy some things; I'll catch up later. By the way, when you're finished and ready to go back to the ship, ask for me at the counter. You know how easy it is to lose track of time, especially when you have... a lot of work to do. Unlike you, I can go for hours without breaking a sweat," Ed said with a smile.

"Bastard! Are you calling me a loser indirectly? I brought all my savings this time! I can afford plenty of stamina potions! I can also go for hours as well, you, Damn it! We'll see tonight who works harder. I can't believe I'd lose to someone like you!" With a black cloud over his head, Jason hurried away, ready for an intense battle to prove his masculine dignity.

F*ck. I have to find this treasure quickly. I can't lose to this loser,* Ed muttered, giving the map a closer look.

The point was marked on the island's edge, likely on the coast, not far from the port. Following the path, he arrived at a beach. The area seemed seldom visited.

Based on the difficulty level and recalling the effortless search for Jack's treasure, finding the exact location should be simple.

"What are you doing here?" Asked Lucilia, who had emerged from her mirror with Ed's permission, clinging to his back. Fearing she might see things she shouldn't (especially 18+ rated activities), he had made her promise to only come out when told while off the ship.

"Treasure hunting," Ed replied casually, walking and squeezing her buttocks to sharpen his little brother for the upcoming battle.

"Treasure hunting? But you just arrived on this island!" Lucilia asked, confused.

"I found clues back in Mester. It's another thing Thaad hid."

"Oh. Why does he like hiding things so much?" She couldn't understand Thaad's peculiar reasoning.

"If I die, I'll collect all my things, hide them too, spread the news worldwide, let the whole world go crazy over it, and create a whole new era where everyone searches for my treasure. Whoever finds it becomes the richest, most powerful person in the world."

Hearing Ed's words, Lucilia tilted her head, completely puzzled. "Why?"

"Because then I'll be the pioneer of a brand new, wonderful adventure era. Don't you think that sounds cool?"

Lucilia was utterly bewildered. What was cool about that? How many people would suffer because of it?

While talking, they arrived at the location marked by the blue dot, right on the edge of the coast. Looking at the black rocky ground and the surrounding cliffs, Ed stamped his foot.

"It should be down here, but where's the entrance?"

The only hiding place was underground, but with solid rock beneath them, there had to be another path.

At that moment, Ed, who was thinking while kneading Lucilia's soft buttock, paused and turned his head, his nose almost touching her pink lips.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Lucilia asked, sensing his strange gaze.

"You... can pass through obstacles, right?"

"Yes."

Hearing her answer, Ed smiled. "Would you like to do me a favor?"

Lucilia, hanging behind him, stared at his face with a hint of surprise. "You want me to go down and find the path, right?"

"Yes. How about it? I'll share the treasure with you. Of course, since you can't touch anything, you can commission me to get anything you need in exchange for your share."

"Haha, no problem!" Lucilia smiled excitedly, as if she couldn't wait for Ed to work for her, and sank directly into the ground.

Watching her disappear, Ed couldn't help but muse, *She's truly the perfect treasure-hunting tool. Not only does she have ancient knowledge in her head and can help me with stress relief, but now this. Could she be my second cheat?"
