Foreign Land Reclamation By a Vegetable-growing Skeleton

Chapter 1431: The Silent Death Sea Stirs Again

"Has it started? Why is there no response?" Negris leaned in to check but saw no signs of starlight.

"The temperature hasn't changed either. When the Lord tested it earlier, the temperature was very high the moment it exploded," Durken also remarked.

Nothing seemed to change, and no signs of starlight appeared. Everyone assumed the device hadn't been activated, though Ange roughly guessed the reason: the star power was still transforming Big Bone's body.

Ange had just discovered there were some subtle differences between a Black Crystal Body that had undergone reinforcement and one that hadn't.

His current Black Crystal Body was also undergoing this transformation, where all the minute cracks invisible to the naked eye would be repaired, and all uneven areas would be filled in, essentially achieving a homogenization process.

After strengthening, the signs of starlight will form. The starlight is not the star power itself but the traces left by the circulation of star power within the bones, like ripples made by a fish swimming underwater.

Once homogenized and strengthened, the strength of the Black Crystal Skeleton will be many times stiffer than before, with a much higher endurance.

Even without the star power, a homogenized strengthened Black Crystal Skeleton would still be much harder than one that hasn't been strengthened. Perhaps they should reinforce several more for others to use? For instance, Locke doesn't like running around, so instead of using a Star God's Body, he has a Mourning Undead Soldier's body.

Many others, like the native undead, also don't enjoy moving around much, whereas the Space Mages can't sit still, like Hiludi, who disappeared without a trace.

After reincarnating, Hiludi studied the Star God's Body and, upon mastering Star Shifting, eagerly commenced her void exploration journey.

In her words: "The Star God's Body was tailor-made for exploring the void. Not exploring it is a sheer waste of destiny's gift."

"But if you don't bask in the sun, the Star God will die," Negris tried to frighten her.

"How long without sunlight before dying?" Hiludi asked.

Negris didn't know and randomly chose a shorter time: "A few ten thousand years, maybe."

If deprived of sunlight for thousands of years, a Star God won't die, but they will weaken.

Hiludi couldn't help but roll her eyes: "I used to think living to 150 would suffice. Striving hard to reach the Archmage level, living to 250 sounded good too. Now you tell me tens of thousands of years? Living that long, if I don't explore the void, how will I spend my days?"

If she weren't filled with a yearning for space, she could never become a remarkable Space Mage. During her time on the Master Plane, she'd explored the void, but unfortunately, hadn't even begun before the space passage was swiftly linked by the Little Sapling and God of Life, connecting the Star Burst Plane, Conch Plane, and Master Plane.

Additionally, being in the Boundless Space Hole left few places to explore, forcing her to abandon this passion.

Now, with several millennia of lifespan and the ability to rapidly traverse the void, this world is so vast with countless places to explore; not letting her explore would be a waste of these capabilities.

Alright, Negris was convinced by her. To prevent her from perishing en route, he even obtained a bundle of augmented Divine Light from Ange, so if she ever goes too long without sunlight, she can use the Divine Light to rejuvenate herself.

Thus, Hiludi set off. It was long before Negris learned that she had also lured away the Boundary Migration Airship and Leonel.

While Ange contemplated whether to homogenize and strengthen a batch of Black Crystal Skeletons, others had confirmed the transmission device was indeed operational. Randomly tossing a bone inside, as soon as it came into contact with the inscriptions, it scorched to charcoal and was flung out.

"It's indeed functioning, without exploding or hitting a wall. So, the wall was you," Negris turned to say to Ange.

Well, it's clear now; the earlier explosion happened because when Ange's thoughts invested in the body, his body's star power also got transmitted, and it collided with the star power from the device, causing the explosion.

It wasn't Ange who hit the wall, but rather, the star power from others collided with Ange's 'wall'.

The Black Crystal Coating has enough sturdiness to withstand the transmission of star power. Durken and others quickly crafted another one, letting the Little Zombie rest inside.

Soul Armor covered its entire body, leaving only the arm exposed. When the Little Zombie's arm touched the inscriptions, a hint of star power immediately enveloped the Little Zombie's arm.

"There it is, the star power, star power is being transmitted," Negris excitedly exclaimed.

Big Bone is still in the homogenizing phase, so there's no visible starlight, but everyone relies on the starlight to determine if there's star power. Without visible starlight, everyone felt uneasy.

"Are we technically milking the other side? Would adding more receivers weaken the transmission of star power? If not, we could build a dozen, and milk the star power dry," Xisluo questioned.

Durken glanced at Ange. Only Ange could answer these questions as they lacked even the ability to sense star power.

Ange nodded.

"What a pity, we can't deplete it. Such a waste," Negris lamented.

"Not only can't we deplete it, it's best to stop one of the devices. Otherwise, the star zombies might suspect something with a big reduction in star power transferred, and cutting off the transmission would be a loss," Anthony advised.

"Good idea, let's halt one immediately," he said, lifting Big Bone out. Milking should be done slowly to avoid making the sheep aware.

Big Bone was comfortably settled but was suddenly dragged out. It wasn't angry, just shuffled over to play with the Little Zombie.

The Little Zombie reluctantly used its other normal arm to play along.

The entire process was slow; although the Little Zombie's star arm twinkled with starlight, no significant change was evident. Observing a while and noticing no changes, everyone drifted away, leaving only Ange, Big Bone, and Negris.

Ange was fiddling with the Space-Time Chessboard, unfazed about staying anywhere, while Negris, feeling bored, complained: "The star power transmission is too slow. How long will it take to strengthen the Little Zombie to the level of a full-blown Star Zombie?"

Ange shook his head but soon seemed to recall something and added, "Fight Star Zombie, ninety days."

"What do you mean? Ninety days of strengthening to fight a Star Zombie? You're kidding, right?" Negris expressed disbelief.

Ange shook his head, somewhat distressed, "Star Zombie, increment, no cycle. It, no cycle, can fight."

"You mean, the Star Zombie's increment has no cycle, and neither does the Little Zombie's. So, after ninety days more of strengthening, the Little Zombie will be on par, enough for a few rounds against a Star Zombie?" Negris translated.

Ange nodded.

"Ninety days, that's reasonable. Let's strengthen several zombies and send them together then," Negris suggested.

Ange shook his head, just about to say something when suddenly Locke came running, exclaiming, "The king says the Silent Death Sea has stirred again."
