The humanoid silhouettes leaving the Boundary were strung together by the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms and placed in front of Gemez Fortress.
The Divine Light of Gemez Fortress locked onto them, forming a web-like cage that tightly bound their consciousness and bodies.
Whether it was the Star Shifting of the Star Descendants or the soul transfer of the Undead, all were rendered ineffective under the lock of Gemez Fortress's Divine Light, not to mention lesser means like space transfer.
The lock of Gemez Fortress's Divine Light persisted until the tendrils of the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms penetrated every shell of the humanoid silhouettes. As the tendrils spread over them, these humanoid silhouettes cried out in terror, "Consciousness Entanglement! It's Consciousness Entanglement, the Entanglement of the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, no, let me go, let me go."
The humanoid silhouettes struggled desperately, shouting loudly, but under the lock of Gemez Fortress's Divine Light, any struggle was futile. Gemez Fortress, after all, was a God Star, and here was its main location, able to exert full power, leaving these humanoid silhouettes utterly incapable of resisting.
The humanoid silhouettes behind, unaware of what had transpired ahead, emerged one by one from the Gate of No Boundary, only to be strung together in succession.
A total of twelve humanoid silhouettes were entangled in consciousness, completely controlled. Each time one was controlled, Gemez Fortress released its Divine Light lock on them, yet none of the newly freed silhouettes felt any joy.
Compared to the Divine Light lock of Gemez Fortress, the Consciousness Entanglement of the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms was true control, all-encompassing from body to consciousness and even lifespan.
The Tree of Ten Thousand Realms possesses a symbiotic capability with others, and the progression of this ability is Consciousness Entanglement. This is an asymmetrical form of symbiosis, where the life and consciousness of the other party are entirely under its control, while they cannot affect it in return.
This is the true sustenance and control the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms holds over all worlds and all things.
Due to the Little Sapling, Ange and the others indulged it excessively, leading its growth entirely in the direction of being cute, whereas the true Tree of Ten Thousand Realms is a being capable of controlling the entire Void like a God Star.
Even beings like the Ancient Man Snake can, through certain prohibitions, cause all the Star Descendants to explode upon hearing its name.
These humanoid silhouettes have truly learned the meaning of 'do not enter a stranger's territory lightly'.
"Didn't you say you were a Star Descendant? Why are you a God Star? Have God Stars learned to deceive as well?" one of the silhouettes complained bitterly and resentfully.
What is a God Star? A God Star is the most forthright existence in the Void. Its power is endless, always radiating light and heat, with no living being able to threaten its existence, so it disdains lying. At least, most people have never seen a God Star lie.
But unexpectedly, the silhouettes encountered just such a scenario, and one that had been learned only recently. People may not learn from people, but events educate people quickly. Gemez Fortress was taught by facts.
"Who are you?" Gemez Fortress ignored their complaints and asked directly.
The humanoid silhouettes looked at each other, and none answered Gemez Fortress's question.
The Tree of Ten Thousand Realms moved slightly, immediately causing all the humanoid silhouettes to scream harshly, as if their souls or consciousnesses were enduring severe pain, unbearable even for a moment. In unison, they shouted, "We are the Dark Star Clan, the Dark Star Clan, we are Dark Stars."
With their response, the excruciating pain they felt abruptly ceased, but the agony of that moment penetrated their consciousness, leaving them weak all over, collapsing to the ground.
"What is the Dark Star Clan?" Gemez Fortress continued to ask.
The humanoid silhouettes exchanged glances, and after a while, one of the silhouettes said, "They are those small, weak, aging, or God Stars that haven't emitted Divine Light, collectively known as Dark Stars. Don't you have Dark Stars here?"
Gemez Fortress suddenly understood that these were called Dark Stars, and indeed there were no Dark Stars here, but there was an aging Gray Divine Star.
"What are you doing here?" Gemez Fortress asked.
After being punished by the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, the members of the Dark Star Clan were much more cooperative, and soon someone replied, "We came to scout the way."
"Scout the way? Why scout the way? Is someone coming in? Here?" Gemez Fortress asked in astonishment.
Where is here? The Endless Cage. Is someone trying to enter the cage? Did I hear that right?
"Yes, too many God Stars want to come in. We belong to the Lania Divine Star's web-like branch," replied one of the Dark Stars.
"God Stars? Wanting to come here? Do you know what this place is?" Gemez Fortress asked in bewilderment.
This is the Endless Cage, the place he's been trying every means to escape from, and now someone is telling him that God Stars outside want to come in? This place he wants to escape from has become a place others are eager to enter, making him feel somewhat odd.
"This is the Endless Cage. Two terrifying beings have appeared outside, slaughtering God Stars. The Endless Cage has instead become the safest place. Many God Stars want to come in to hide, but the Gate of No Boundary has been inactive for so long that no one knows the situation inside the Endless Cage, so we were sent in to scout the situation," replied one of the Dark Stars.
"For so long? Which one has been inactive for so long? This Gate of No Boundary or all the Gates of No Boundary have been inactive for so long?" Gemez Fortress asked.
One of the Dark Stars said, "This one, this Gate of No Boundary has never been activated. Almost all other Gates of No Boundary have records of activation. Even if they were not opened, they have been activated except for this one."
Gemez Fortress glanced at the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, gaining some understanding. It must be that the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms sealed the Gate of No Boundary in a tree tumor early on, which is why it was never activated.
"What is the function of the Gate of No Boundary? You mentioned earlier that it can connect to other Gates of No Boundary and transport to other Gates of No Boundary?" Gemez Fortress asked.
"It indeed can, but are there still any other Gates of No Boundary?" one of the Dark Stars questioned.
"What do you mean?" Gemez Fortress asked, puzzled.
One of the Dark Stars said, "A long time ago, the Star Mover Network used the Gate of No Boundary to detonate all anchoring God Stars. Apart from your gate that has never been activated, there shouldn't be any other Gates of No Boundary."
Gemez Fortress and the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms were shaken to their core, realizing that the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms sealing the Gate of No Boundary had saved them. Could it be that because there was no anchoring of the Gate of No Boundary, those Star Movers detonated all the God Stars, leaving only him and the Little Fireman?
"Why did those Star Movers detonate all the God Stars?" Gemez Fortress asked.
"We don't know either, but the Star Movers have already defected to those two terrifying existences. Those two terrifying beings are also slaughtering God Stars. It might be an order from those two terrifying beings," one of the Dark Stars said.
Gemez Fortress thought for a moment, then asked, "Why is it called a web-like branch?"
"Because our position is like a spread-out net. To reach the end of the net, one must pass through the nodes at the front end; otherwise, it requires an extremely long detour, and so it's called a web-like branch," explained one of the Dark Stars.
Gemez Fortress asked a variety of questions, eventually gaining a general understanding of the outside world, then hesitated. All the God Stars outside wanted to come in for refuge; did it render his plan to break the cage meaningless?
But he quickly dismissed the thought, caring not whether it held meaning, for Ange and the others must all die anyway.
"Attempt to connect to another Gate of No Boundary and see if it's possible to transport there," Gemez Fortress instructed.
