Looking at the source of the voice, Michael noticed that there was a young man in his early twenties approaching.
This young man had short dark hair and brown eyes, with a tall frame. He wore a light-colored shirt with the sleeves rolled up, dark tailored trousers, and polished loafers.
His jacket hung casually over one shoulder, and a simple watch glinted at his wrist.
He had an air of arrogance around him, giving Michael the vibe that this was someone who was used to being at a high position.
Without even needing to think much about it, it seemed that this guy was from some influential background, just like Alex.
Realizing this, Michael took out his phone, before he texted Adrian, informing him to send him a summary of the information of the major families within Brenton city.
Immediately after that, he kept the phone away, before he got out of the car.
At this time, Alex had already gotten out of the car, observing the young man who was approaching.
"Raymond, do you think that I am afraid of you? What? Were you hoping that I would not show up, so that you could steal the show?" Alex retorted.
"Humph!" Raymond simply snorted in response, before he glanced at Michael and asked, "And who is this kid that you brought with you?"
Even though Raymond was usually arrogant, he tried to restrain himself as he looked at Michael. After all, he could see that Michael seemed to have come in the Koenigsegg.
He was not sure if Michael owned the Koenigsegg, or he had borrowed it from somewhere. As for renting it, was it easy to be able to rent such a car? It was almost impossible.
"This is a new friend that I just made. Michael. And it seems today, since he is going to participate in the race, you are going to take the third place. Hehe." Alex said with a small laughter.
His words made Raymond frowned slightly as he observed Michael. He understood Alex quite well, knowing that he was not someone who usually liked boasting.
But even then, he was not someone who would admit defeat unless he had actually been defeated. For him to say that he, Raymond, was going to take the third place, could it be that this guy was only second to Alex?
Could it be that this guy's skills were amazing? Amazing to the extent that Alex was willing to vouch for him?
But thinking about the gap between them, with the previous race, Alex winning with a gap of just 2 seconds, he thought that the possibility of this young man being stronger than him was quite low.
That was of course if this kid whom Alex had brought with him was better than Alex when it came to racing. But the probability of that was also quite low.
"Alex, when did you learn how to boast? Looking at this kid, even though he is driving such a cool car, he seems to be quite young. It is impossible for him to be able to beat Raymond." Suddenly, another voice spoke up.
Looking over, another young man, also in his early twenties, with a tall and imposing build, was approaching.
This young man had slightly tanned skin, with short sandy-blonde hair, sweeping loosely from his forehead. He had a square face and a faint scar on his left cheek, with deep blue eyes.
"You don't believe it? Why don't you give it a try, Dalton? I can assure you, you will not even have a chance of retorting after being defeated." Alex simply chuckled as he responded.
"You are speaking with such confidence, it seems that this kid really has quite some skills. And, his background seems to be quite formidable, considering that he can acquire the Koenigsegg Regera." Dalton responded as he shrugged while observing the car behind Michael.
"This kid is probably not from the eastern province. He might be from another province. So, Alex, why not make some introductions?" Raymond stated as he stood next to Alex.
"Sure. This is Michael Santos. As for his origin, you don't need to worry much about that. Michael, this is Raymond Morgan, and this one here is Dalton Anders.
Just like me, they are both from some influential families within the city. Raymond is from a family that is only just slightly above my own, and Dalton is from a family that is a level below mine." Alex made the introductions.
Michael shook hands with the two, as he observed them. While looking at Raymond, he just felt some sense of familiarity, as though he had seen him somewhere.
It was just that, this did not seem to be the case, considering that this seemed to be the first meeting between them. But, why did this guy look kind of familiar?
Michael decided not to think much about this, and wait for the information to be sent by Adrian. At that time, he would be able to get more information on these guys.
And as the three of them just completed knowing each other, another group of young people approached them.
They seemed to be young masters and misses from some influential families within the city, just by judging from their branded attire.
At this point, Michael was the only one who was wearing clothes that were not of any popular brand.
Even though that was the case, nobody dared to look down on him, considering that he was driving a Koenigsegg Regera, a car that was of a limited edition worldwide.
Michael got to know quite a number of the people that had arrived, understanding that most of them had come over today because they had to participate in a race.
This was a private competition that was organized by the young masters and misses within the city. Of course, only those that were interested in racing would attend.
Though, there were those that attended just to be spectators, to enjoy the show.
This group of youngsters usually booked the entire place on every Thursday, every week, apart from the last week of every month, when they would have a major competition.
This monthly major competition was usually held on Friday of the last week of every month. In case the month ended before Friday, then it would be at the start of the other month.
Michael did not really have much that he could say to this group of youngsters. So, for quite a while, he was mostly listening while the others spoke.
This made many of those present think that Michael was someone who did not like talking too much.
Clap! Clap!
"Alright, it is almost time. Let's not waste any more time, and start the race already." Alex said as he clapped, to attract everyone's attention.
At his words, the others also reacted. So, they all began preparing for the race.
Alex approached Michael before he began briefing him about the race.
First of all, in order to participate in the race, there was the registration fee, which was just $1,000.
But apart from the registration fee, there was the prize money, where everyone contributed $50,000.
This was for the small weekly event. But for the monthly event, they would need to contribute more, and for the amount, it would always be decided on the day of the competition.
Currently, Michael's account only had slightly over $40K. With no other choice, Michael had to convert 1 SP, to obtain $100,000. And with that, he transferred the $51,000 to Alex, who in turn handed the money to an official from the racing arena.
As for the competition, it was going several laps around the racing tracks. The total number of laps was 10, with a single lap being 4.3 km.
As he heard all this, Michael realized that this group of youngsters was quite organized. After all, they had arranged everything, including the emergency response, making this almost like an official racing event.
Above the racing tracks, Michael noticed that there were a few drones, obviously for recording the event.
Having already gotten a basic understanding of the competition, Alex went ahead and introduced the racing tracks to him.
This was just to allow Michael to get familiar with the tracks.
"By the way, before the race starts, you can actually drive around, and get familiar with everything. This way, it should not be much of a problem when the race officially starts." Alex gave a suggestion.
In response, Michael simply shook his head. He thought, there was no need for that, as he felt that just by knowing how the tracks looked like, it was enough.
Seeing that Michael did not have the intention of testing out the tracks, Alex could only shrug. Maybe Michael was here before, or he was just confident in his skills.
Nevertheless, the two of them joined the others on the racing tracks, ready for the start of the race.
In the spectator stands, the other youngsters were watching, as some of them began betting with each other, on who was going to win the race.
