Alex was brought back from his shock by Dalton's question. He looked at him, a slight smile gracing his lips.
Then, looking at the gazes that he was receiving from everyone around, as though they wanted to swallow him, he chuckled awkwardly.
But then again, he said, "What? He told me before, that this was the first time that he was participating in this event.
At that time, I thought that he meant that he was a noob. I never thought that he implied that he had just never participated in something like this, and not that he had never used guns before."
"Damn! I'm pretty sure that you already knew about the level of his skill. Otherwise, with your character, I doubt that you would not have not boasted in front of him all this while." Raymond responded as he pointed his finger at Alex.
He was feeling kind of embarrassed, just thinking about how he had been trying to show off his skills in front of Michael.
Good thing, he never said anything too boastful. Otherwise, where would he hide his face after Michael demonstrated such skills?
As for the time when he was about to say that Michael had just gotten a lucky shot, he felt lucky. After all, if Michael had not shot at that time that he was about to speak, he would have ended up embarrassing himself even further.
So, of all the people, he was the one who felt the most aggrieved of the fact that Alex did not reveal everything.
"Hehe... But I really never lied to you guys. I didn't know his level of skill, even though I knew that he knew how to shoot. You know, someone can shoot, just like all of us here, but we have varying levels of skills." Alex responded, without feeling the least bit sorry about not informing the group.
As Michael took off the earplugs and earmuffs, Alex was the first one to question him. "Hey, what kind of skill do you possess? Don't tell me, did you attend some kind of military training before?"
Even though he had known in advance that Michael possessed some skill when it came to handling the guns, it was unexpected to him that he was this skilled.
It might be true that the range of the targets being just 15 meters away was an easy target, but still, it was not easy to be able to get a perfect score in all of them.
Additionally, the speed of the moving targets was quite low, but even then, it required skill, in order to be able to get a full score for each shot.
"Not really, I have never attended any military school. Instead, I have only ever read about shooting. That was how I obtained the skill." Michael responded offhandedly.
"Tsk! Alright, I know that you don't want to say it. There is no need for you to come up with such an absurd excuse." Alex clicked his tongue as he responded.
He obviously did not take Michael seriously. To him, it felt as though Michael did not want to reveal anything about how he had become so good at shooting, despite his young age.
Maybe, it was something that was related to his background. So, since he was not willing to reveal it, Alex would not try pushing for it.
The others also thought the same. So, they did not bother to ask, knowing that they would not be able to receive the response that they wanted.
Michael on the other hand did not try to explain anything. Anyway, he had no any intention of revealing anything about the system.
So, when he was honestly responding how he had gotten the skill, he knew that nobody would believe his words anyway. After all, sometimes, the truth might just be absurd for anyone to believe.
And, among this group, who could believe that Michael had a system? Anyway, this was something that only happened in some novels and maybe movies.
There was no way that someone would believe that he actually had a system. Even if there was someone that could believe, as long as Michael did not reveal too many clues, nobody could link his abilities to the presence of the system.
After the warm-up, the group moved to the other shooting lanes, the air buzzing with some tension.
The group decided to follow the same sequence as before. So, Alex stepped up first, aiming carefully. Since he had already seen the skills demonstrated by Michael, he was planning to give it his all.
Even if in the end, he lost, he could not accept losing to Raymond. It might be true that he had already demonstrated that his skills were above Raymond's, but that was just the basic shooting test.
In the ones that came later, it was not just about skills, but physical strength and luck would also matter.
Bang! Bang!
One by one, he began pulling the trigger, firing his shots at the targets. Alex was using an AR-15, as they were currently at the rifle section.
At this section, there was a long lane, testing precision at greater distances. Alex's shots mostly scored 7s and 8s, with occasional 9s.
At the moment, a few people had already gathered to observe. After all, it was quite rare to find a group of young masters competing.
In any case, anyone that could access this shooting range had some influence. So, they could recognize Alex and the others. They were quite curious about their skills.
Additionally, since this was not the first time that Alex and the others were visiting this shooting range, some of them had already gotten familiar with them. Now, they were quite curious, had their skills improved since the last visit?
And as they observed as Alex shot, some of them nodded. After all, Alex was still quite young, but even then, he was pretty much skilled.
Despite him not being so much skilled when it came to business management and handling most of the business affairs, when it came to things like this, he was well known.
When Alex completed his turn, this time, his average score was at 8. Next, Raymond had an average score of 7, and surprisingly, Dalton had the same average score as Alex.
This was something that caught everyone apart from Michael by surprise. During the previous visit here, Dalton did not perform better than Raymond.
So, of course, everyone was surprised about this sudden improvement. As for Michael, he did not know Dalton's skill level to begin with. So, there was nothing for him to be surprised about.
Raymond was the one who felt unconvinced. Was he supposedly going to take the 4th spot this time? He could not believe it.
Thinking that there were still a few more rounds to go, then, he should try as much as possible. He could not afford to lose, dropping from the second position, all the way to the fourth position.
The spectating crowd was also surprised, but most of them thought, it was inevitable. After all, with his physique, Dalton was quite good at handling the recoil.
So, with some improvement in skill, it was quite noticeable, which was why his results were better.
When it was finally Michael's turn, everyone paid attention. For Alex and the group, they were wondering, was Michael's skill just as good with the rifles as with the pistol?
As for the spectating crowd, this was the first time that they were seeing Michael. So, they were curious not only about his skills, but his background as well.
Just like before, Michael was able to get a perfect score for each shot with the rifle. This left the entire spectating crowd dumbfounded, wondering, was this kid still a teenager?
Looking at his appearance, he definitely looked no different from a teenager. But with those skills, did he receive some kind of professional training ever since he was young? Otherwise, it was impossible to explain his level of skills.
"Are you perhaps from a military background? Otherwise, with such level of skills at such a young age, I just can't find any reasonable explanation for it." Alex asked while looking at Michael.
Michael shook his head as he said, "I'm just from an ordinary background."
"Yeah, what an amazing 'ordinary' background. One that can allow you to be able to get a brand new Koenigsegg Regera." Alex responded sarcastically.
At such a response, Michael could only let out a helpless smile. It was impossible for him to be able to explain anyway. So, better not to try creating some excuses.
The group then headed for the sniper lane, the farthest stretch, reserved for long-distance accuracy. Bolt-action rifles rested on supports, as the crowd observed. One by one, Alex and the others began taking turns.
But, their skills were not good, with the best, Raymond, having an average score of 7. As for Alex, he got an average score of 6, and the others got even lower scores.
Then it was Michael's turn. As he took action, everyone focused their attention on him.
Due to the skills that he had demonstrated previously, now, they were wondering, just how good was he with the sniper rifle?
It seemed that the crowd was bound to be awed today. Each of Michael's shot struck dead center, bullseye after bullseye.
"F*ck! Are you sure that this is a teenager?"
"His appearance says so, but his skills say otherwise."
"He might possibly be a veteran, who has some kind of condition that does not allow him to grow older?"
"If there was such a good thing, I would definitely go for it. I want to still look beautiful, even if my age keeps moving."
The spectating crowd began commentating in both shock and amazement at the skills demonstrated by Michael.
As he set down the sniper rifle, Michael looked at the crowd that was looking at him as though they were looking at an alien.
He thought to himself, as expected, with the amazing skills at the intermediate level, which allowed him to be able to precisely use every type of gun like a trained soldier, it was way too much for Alex and the others to compare.
"Michael?" Michael was just about to say that they should move to the next section when suddenly, from within the crowd, someone called out his name.
