Hours later, the metal door leading to the subterranean chamber where the captive soldiers were kept was pushed open again as the Demon of Ozempic walked in with his Holy Champions.

This time, they didn't come in alone. They dragged corpses with them.

Seeing Captain Raveman's headless body and his head with his lifeless eyes still open, staring in disbelief like he still couldn't believe that he was dead, Leon winced as he glared at the terrorists but they paid him no attention.

His teammates squirmed in unease.

Lucian led the way back into the subterranean chamber, holding an extremely sharp knife on his right hand that made the soldiers even more uneasy. The mere sight of the knife's edge was enough to shatter mental defenses.

The soldiers stared in quiet trepidation.

They were now on a crossroads and this was the defining moment of their lives; this was their fate.

Behind Lucian, Xena carried Captain Raveman's head by the hair, while Ramirez, the hefty terrorist dragged the Captain's headless body and Lieutenant Jones' body into the subterranean chamber.

Behind the duo, Jake, the terrorist with Cat DNA dragged Lieutenant Levi and Piper's lifeless corpses in too.

As for Blake, the last terrorist carried a massive white blanket in.

Staring at the lifeless corpses, Leon felt detached from the world. He was in a state of denial, he still couldn't believe that these were the energetic elite warriors that he trained with for 2 days.

Without exchanging any words with the captives, Blake instantly started arranging the massive white blanket on the wall, creating the white background for the live video.

At the same time, Xena threw Captain Raveman's lifeless head at Ramirez who casually caught it as she brought her black backpack down.

Inside the backpack were the components of a high-quality broadcast camera, including the gadget with which she intended to keep the enemy NetRunner captive in here during the duration of the live video.

She instantly started assembling the camera.

At the same time, Jake and Ramirez started arranging the 4 corpses behind the captives as the soldiers flinched.

They placed Captain Raveman's head on top his body, looking at the camera.

While this happened, Lucian walked to the opposite wall and idly leaned on the wall as he closed his eyes, preparing himself mentally for the execution that was about to happen on live TV.

Seeing this, Leon became agitated as he glared at the leader of the terrorists. "Why are you doing this?"

Lucian opened his eyes and looked at him but he didn't say a word, and his subordinates didn't stop preparing for the video either.

Leon strained and pulled against his shackles, he was desperate.

"Lucian, listen to me, it doesn't have to end like this". He pleaded. "You don't have to kill anyone else. Fine, I'm the human, I accept. I accept your faith, I'm willing to believe in your God".

"Just don't kill them, it doesn't have to be like this".

He looked at his teammates and hardened his expression as he accepted his decision. "I give you my word, I will follow you anywhere you want to go". He vowed. "I will help you proliferate the faith of your God, just don't… please don't kill them, stop the killing".

"It doesn't have to be like this, please".

Lucian didn't answer, instead he just stared at him. That stare unnerved Leon and was driving him crazy.

But Leon no longer cared about his dignity or pride, this was the desperation of a man who was about to watch his comrades be executed.

"Lucian please!" Leon pleaded, still he got no answer, then he lost it.

BZZZ!

His grayish white ADE erupted violently but he couldn't do anything with it, the chains restricted him completely.

Leon violently pulled at the chains, glaring at Lucian, still seeing no reaction he calmed down again as he looked at the terrorist leader. "Lucian, please… if you do this, you'll become my enemy forever".

"I'll have to kill you".

"Please don't do it".

Lucian calmly looked at him with his eerie dual eyes, then he said. "It's the will of God".

"…"

Out of words, Leon just stared at him.

"Lord Lucian, the camera is ready". Xena finally said.

"The soldier?" Lucian asked.

"She won't be able to escape the net that I created, I've restrained her ability to travel through data streams to just this vicinity. Since it's just an Artifact, she won't be able to break the net".

"I'm ready too". Blake said as he added the finishing touches to the white background for the live video.

"The corpses are ready". Jake and Ramirez said.

The corpses were arranged just behind the captives, the captives were arranged in order with Lieutenant Ryan on the rightmost corner, then Lieutenant Cormier, then Lieutenant Johnmark, and finally Leon who was also positioned to be part of the video.

The camera directly faced them.

Lucian nodded calmly, then he started walking towards the camera.

As he walked and as his footsteps echoed in this subterranean chamber, Leon quietly stared at him and as he did, he felt something dying inside of him.

The moment Lucian stood in front of the camera in his white priest robes, the light in Leon's eyes died completely as his black eyes became dull and emotionless.

The world in his eyes became grey.

He looked at the 19-year-old who had one of the most tragic stories that he'd heard since awakening in this world, he looked at the boy turned monster by a world gone mad, he looked at the Demon of Ozempic, then he stopped bothering about conserving his ADE.

His ADE erupted without restrains, swirling around his body and quietly burning away like fuel.

Used to his antics for the past 2 hours having been observing him through hidden cameras in this subterranean chamber, the terrorists ignored him.

Beside Leon, on their knees, Lieutenant Johnmark stirred slightly as he remembered the first day that he met Leon. That day, they were also fighting against terrorists.

'I shouldn't have invited him to be a part of this mission'. Though Lucian said they won't kill Leon, he wasn't sure and he felt guilty.

This time, they were the victims.

Before the live video started, seeing Leon's ADE flare in such an unrestrained manner, Lucian looked at him. "What exactly are you up to?"

Leon no longer looked at him as he closed his eyes and answered emotionlessly. "Trying to escape".

Lucian smiled. "The earlier you accept your situation, the easier it'll be for you. There's no escape".

Leon no longer answered.

And then, Lucian checked the time for confirmation before focusing on the camera as he gave Xena the signal to start the live video.

BZZZT!

It started.

July 11th, Year 714 A.G.

It was a Friday morning.

[09:00am]

After a wild night in Leviathan Quay where over a thousand casualties were reported through the night as the civilians went wild, the rate of killings finally subsided in the morning with some intervention from the police and army.

The news of the elite squad sent to kill the terrorists being wiped out was kept under wraps, no one knew about it except the 3 leaders of Leviathan Quay.

Major Roshfield hoped for it to stay this way but things don't always go according to plan.

Yet again, the Demon of Ozempic sent shivers through the city that morning with a new live video.

Static sounds echoed, then a new video came to life.

Like usual, it was broadcasted across all of Leviathan Quay in every home and in every café.

On the live video, a white cloth was used to frame the background but this time it didn't create a solemn ambience, instead today it created a gory and horrifying ambience in the video.

This was because apart from the familiar face of the Demon of Ozempic, there were others in the video, including mutilated corpses- uncensored!

The footage of the 4 captives in the video who were on their knees and the corpses alone sent a wave of fear rippling through Leviathan Quay.

Lucian let it ripple, then he stole back the attention with his usual opening. "Good morning citizens of Leviathan Quay".

"Yesterday night, instead of mobilizing soldiers to stabilize the chaos in the city and help its citizens rid the city of the heretics, the leaders of Leviathan Quay sent an assault squad to assassinate me instead".

Lucian shook his head in disappointment. "Once again, the leaders of this city have failed my expectations".

"Once again, they've failed to yield to God's will".

"And once again, I've come to tell you that I won't stop". His face hardened, his dual-colored eyes gleaming with a ruthless light. "I've decided to show a live example of what happens when you refuse to obey God's will".

"Like I already said," his grip on the knife tightened. "There's no short-cut, it's either repent or die".

"No matter what obstacles I have to overcome and how stubborn the leaders of this city are, I won't stop till Leviathan Quay becomes a holy city of God".

"Today, I will execute those fighting for the sinners in front of you all as an example to all".

He raised the knife high and chanted. "Lovet være Gud!"

After that, he moved towards the captives, starting with Lieutenant Ryan who was on the right.

In the face of death, this soldier didn't shake in fear nor did he plead.

Leon finally opened his eyes again and looked at him, he could tell that Ryan was shaken but he didn't show it. Instead, the Lieutenant looked into the camera with a fearless look on his face as he chanted loudly.

"For the Geneforge Clans!"

At the same time that the soldier said those words, Lucian smiled darkly and went behind him.

He grabbed his head and placed the knife on his neck, then without hesitation he slit!

Even without ADE, the skin of an E Rank Gene Augur was unlike any of Lucian's earlier victims on live TV.

There was some resistance, the knife didn't cut all the way through.

In response, Lieutenant Ryan's eyes rolled behind as he shuddered violently, his innate survival instincts kicking in even as blood spurted from his neck like rain as Lucian kept on cutting.

"Gud er større!"

"Gud er større!" Lucian chanted as he cut.

Leon silently stared at this scene, a quiet flame burning in his heart even as his ADE kept on circulating.

Lieutenant Ryan's eyes quickly glazed over, turning blood-red and welling with tears in the end but till he took his last breath, he showed no weakness.

Thud!

The Lieutenant's body collapsed beneath Lucian's feet.

He was dead.

"Gud er større!"

"Gud er større!"

The other terrorists in the background began chanting in that moment, and in that was when Leon's System lit up.

DING!

Ignoring the notification, immediately Leon stopped circulating his ADE and looked at Lucian. "If you'll kill them, kill me too". He said.

Lucian looked at him, then he glanced at the camera and ignored him.

"KILL ME FIRST!"

Leon roared at the terrorist leader on live TV as Lucian finally showed a mildly annoyed expression, but it only delayed him for a few seconds.

He stood behind Lieutenant Cormier's head but unlike Ryan, Cormier was not willing to go so meekly.

The moment the terrorist leader grabbed his neck, having prepared for it since, Lieutenant Cormier strained all his muscles against his shackles and butted hard with his head, aiming at Lucian's crotch!

BAM!

Lucian reacted at the last moment, blocking the attack as his eyes darkened.

Noting the change in his expression, Lieutenant Cormier laughed darkly on live TV then looking directly at the camera, he said. "For the Geneforge Clans!"

Lucian grabbed his neck, placed the knife on it and started slicing.

"Gurgh…!" Cormier groaned, his eyes rolling behind as his body spasmed and shuddered violently; he was dying.

In that moment, Leon took a deep breath and arched his neck backward, rapidly gathering spit with his tongue muscles before ejecting it like a projectile at Lucian who flinched and paused his action, blocking his face.

The spit splashed on his hand as Lucian glared at him.

This was cruel, unnecessarily prolonging Lieutenant Cormier's suffering but Leon no longer seemed sane at this moment. He looked like a mad man.

"Restrain him". Lucian ordered and Jake walked into the video, holding Leon's head in one place and just as Lucian was about to resume the execution, that was when they heard it.

Tutututututu!

The muffled sound of gunfire.

Lucian's head immediately snapped away from the camera, wondering what was going on.

In that moment, with a twisted smile on his face, Leon strained his head against Jake's grip as he looked at Lucian. "Lucian, do you know which Class is strongest at E Rank?"

Lucian glanced at him darkly, confused.

Before the confused terrorist leader could answer though, it happened…

KABOOM!

A hole was blasted into this subterranean chamber from the nearest chamber, immediately all eyes darted towards there just in time to see a massive 10-meter tall humanoid robot with a square-shaped head burst inside…
