The soldiers watching erupted into cheers.
"YEAH!"
"BOSS!"
"HELL YEAH, COMMANDER!"
They should have been fighting. There were still shadow goblins and iron-jaw scavengers rampaging through the streets. Civilians were still in danger. But for this moment, they couldn't look away.
They had to see how this ended.
The whole thing literally seemed like a movie at this point. A creature that had given them a hard time to kill was being defeated by one man.
One man that held no weapons. One man that was only using his fists to defeat a Boulder-Back Behemoth.
Crazy stuff!
Tatehan broke into a sprint, then leaped into the air.
As he rose, he activated his gravity manipulation, not to create a shield this time, but to propel himself upward. He reduced his own weight drastically, making himself almost weightless, and then used a burst of gravitational force to launch himself skyward like a missile.
Thoom!
He shot upward, fifty meters, a hundred meters, higher than any normal jump could take him.
At the peak of his ascent, he hung in the air for a moment, suspended.
Then he threw both chakrams.
SHING! SHING!
The blades spun through the air with deadly precision, a precision so perfect it was deadly and alarming. Both of the chakrams aimed at the same target: the Behemoth's exposed belly.
The creature tried to move, it tried to roll away, but it was too slow and way too injured to do so.
The chakrams struck true. They hit the exact spot Tatehan had hoped they would hit.
The Tri-Edge blade sliced deep, carving through flesh and muscle. The Serrated Heavy chakram followed a split second later, its jagged edge tearing a gaping wound across the creature's stomach.
Black blood sprayed into the air and the Behemoth roared in agony.
Tatehan was still in the air. He was still descending slowly.
He'd made himself so light that gravity barely affected him, he was practically floating.
He summoned the Devastator Hand Cannon.
The massive weapon materialized in his right hand. He raised it, took aim at the Behemoth's torn belly, and fired.
BOOM!
The first shot punched through flesh and bone, detonating inside the creature's body.
BOOM!
The second shot followed immediately.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Three more shots, each one tearing the wound wider, each explosion causing the creature to convulse and thrash.
By the fifth shot, the Behemoth's stomach was completely torn open, its insides exposed and leaking.
Tatehan unsummoned the pistol.
He was maybe twenty meters above the creature now, still falling in slow motion.
And then he did something insane.
He focused every remaining ounce of kinetic energy stored in his armor, everything he had left, and channeled it into both fists.
Then he increased his own gravity massively.
His weight multiplied tenfold, a hundredfold. Suddenly, he wasn't floating anymore.
He was plummeting. Like a goddamn meteor.
Tatehan brought both fists together above his head and aimed straight for the creature's ruined belly.
THOOM!
The impact was apocalyptic! Catastrophic! Titanic! Seismic! Cataclysmic! Destructive!... almost mythic in scale!
Tatehan's fists drove through the Behemoth's body with such force that the creature didn't just die..it..it was obliterated. Flesh, bone, and organs exploded outward in a spray of black blood and viscera. The ground beneath the creature cracked and buckled, a crater forming from the sheer kinetic force of the blow.
Blood splashed across Tatehan's armor, coating the silver plating in a slick layer of red and black.
He stood slowly, his helmet dripping with gore, his fists still clenched.
The Behemoth was gone. Reduced to paste.
The soldiers stared in stunned silence.
Then, as one, they erupted into cheers.
"BOSS!"
"COMMANDER TATEHAN!"
"CRAZY STUFF!"
Tatehan didn't acknowledge them. His eyes were already scanning the battlefield.
There.
The second Behemoth. Still alive and still fighting.
He started walking toward it, his armored boots crunching through debris and blood.
The second Behemoth saw him coming and roared, swinging its massive spiked tail in warning.
Tatehan didn't slow down.
The tail came at him fast, a lethal strike aimed at his head.
Tatehan activated his Gravitational Shield.
CLANG!
The tail struck the barrier and rebounded, the force sending the creature stumbling backward slightly.
Tatehan dismissed the shield and lunged forward, driving his fist upward in a brutal uppercut aimed directly at the creature's jaw.
CRACK!
The punch connected with devastating force, lifting the Behemoth off its feet and sending it crashing backward.
It hit the ground hard, dazed but not dead.
Tatehan turned toward the fifteen soldiers watching him from behind cover.
"FIRE AT THE STOMACH!" he roared, his voice amplified by his helmet.
The soldiers didn't hesitate.
They raised their rifles, high-tech weapons that hummed with power, and opened fire.
BZZT! BZZT! BZZT!
A barrage of energy bolts slammed into the Behemoth's exposed belly, tearing through flesh and armor plating. The creature thrashed and howled, trying to protect itself, but the soldiers didn't let up.
Tatehan summoned the Devastator Hand Cannon again.
He raised it and took aim at the creature's stomach (now a smoking, bleeding mess) and fired one final shot.
BOOM!
The explosive round struck dead center.
And the Behemoth exploded.
Chunks of meat, bone, and metal flew in every direction, raining down across the street. Blood splattered across the pavement, the walls, the soldiers' armor.
When the smoke cleared, there was nothing left but a smoking crater.
Words appeared across Tatehan's retina:

Tatehan stood in the center of it all, his armor covered in gore, his helmet glowing faintly.

Then, slowly, they began to cheer again.
Louder this time.
Soon they unleased on the remaining monsters with the same energy, greatly motivated by Tatehan's act.
