The Crowned Greed: Transmigrated into a Demonic Dragon

Chapter 109: Strange Behaviour

"You know that she might be the only person in the world who can safely stand beside you, right? ENSLAVE HER!"

'SHUT THE FUCK UP!'

In the treehouse, Dante stood beside Ruby as she continued digging a hole for Dante's bathroom, unaware of Dante's calm discussion with Sin of Greed.

"Ruby is a merchant, an alchemist, a builder, a rune expert, a lucky woman, and likely the only person that will ever be able to be this close to you. Isn't that tempting? Additionally, my method won't brutally force her to do things she doesn't like."

"Your silver ether will refine her body, mind, and soul in addition to modifying her mind and soul to follow your orders willingly. Your words won't force her to follow your orders. Instead, she'll seek happiness in obeying you. You'll be literally giving her happiness."

Hearing Greed's tempting speech, Dante shook his head: 'Keep dreaming. Even if she's going to obey me with a smile, I won't do it. As long as she doesn't choose to obey me by herself, I won't use your trick.'

Ignoring Greed, Dante took a look at the walls.

They looked completely normal, but Dante knew that some new runic arrays were added to the formation.

Yes, they finished the formation.

The treasure room was now turned into the formation room. It had the activation spot, an array for holding mana crystals, and a new addition for emergency escape in case someone attacked.

So obviously, the next step would be building the structure of some floors and dyeing the entire place before moving to making the rooms.

'Hopefully, no meteor falls on the treehouse right after we finish it. Fafnir and I should kill more things to reduce my misfortune.'

Ruby finished the hole and connected it to some methods to remove anything that would fall inside, with some more arrays to get rid of the smell.

Next, she straightened her back and wiped the sweat off her forehead: 'I think that's enough. It's time for the hardest and most critical step.'

Before opening her bag, she looked at her fancy clothes and frowned: 'I should remove this first.'

She began with her boots, taking them off, but as if remembering something—which made her shiver subconsciously—she stopped and looked at Dante.

Dante was staring at her with confusion, so she quickly explained: "I-I forgot to mention, I'm going to undress quickly. I'm telling you this because I don't want to be sent flying to the ground like that woman Emeralda."

"Huh? Why would you do that?" Dante glared at her as she took her boots off completely.

"Because I'm going to use magical dye and do some woodwork, which is going to produce some sawdust." Ruby casually threw her boots toward Dante: "It's hard to remove them from my clothes, so I'm going to wear something else."

"I see… fine."

Ruby turned around and continued undressing, hearing a sigh from Dante.

'Wait, maybe I also can use this chance to deepen our connection and have some fun.' Ruby grinned inwardly as she remembered that Dante's curse wasn't affecting her.

Dante was handsome and gave a strange feeling that made her attracted to him. He was also physically strong enough to fight a horde of monsters alone from close range. Additionally, she and Dante were going to meet frequently, as he seemed interested in selling some things to her.

All that she wanted now was to spend a night with him and get to know each other more deeply, just like she did with Jin and many other men.

'I'll give him a small show first.'

She went to her trousers and bent to pull them over her ankles in a slow, graceful movement. She straightened slowly, letting the fabric slide away as though it resisted leaving her.

Ruby took her time arranging the discarded trousers before pushing them aside, showing unnecessary movements that had nothing to do with the trousers.

She shivered slightly as air felt cooler against her skin now, the cold air of an underground area hidden under the coldest region in Terra.

Next came the upper part.

Loosening a belt, she stretched her arms briefly, letting all the remaining layers fall away. By the time she was left in nothing but her underwear, her heart began to beat a little faster as she turned around.

'Hmm?'

But to her disappointment, Dante was facing the other way, his attention fixed firmly on a book. He seemed to be immersed in the book, giving no attention to Ruby's seductive show.

Ruby blinked in confusion.

"Sir Dante, I always wondered… Are you related to the Holy Kingdom?" She asked curiously.

Dante turned around, focusing only on her face, and raised an eyebrow: "What makes you think of that?"

"You're not looking at me." Ruby smiled awkwardly and took a few steps toward him, stopping only a few centimetres away from him: "I rarely see men like this, avoiding looking at naked women. They're either nobles who don't want to see the 'filthy' body of a commoner, married men who have jealous wives, or some of the Holy Kingdom's men with their strange culture."

Dante hesitated: "I… like privacy. And not all women are comfortable with exposing their bodies in front of men."

"But I'm comfortable with it." As she said that, she casually took off her underwear and stood exposed, causing Dante's arm to twitch subconsciously.

'Damn you!'

As Dante was about to turn around again, Ruby put a hand on her hip and added: "In fact, I don't mind moving a step further than just looking. I was getting tired of that drunk guy—"

"Not interested. You can keep having fun with Jin." Dante rejected her offer before she could continue and crossed his arms.

Ruby looked at him in puzzlement. As a woman who wasn't aware of the existence of Earth, she couldn't understand Dante's actions or behaviours. If he truly wasn't from the Holy Kingdom, then why did he reject her offer?

Her mind had been normalizing sex and nudity since her birth. Her common sense was different from Earth, so her internal questions were different from the ones that would normally be asked.

Why did he refuse a free offer of mutual fun?

Was she ugly in his eyes?

Did he have an embarrassing condition in his member?

Was he from a place with a similar culture to the Holy Kingdom?

Just then, a sudden realization hit her. She narrowed her eyes and asked: "Did you attack Emeralda because her behaviour showed that she was trying to assault you or did you just attack her the moment you saw her naked?"

"I remember that she wasn't truly okay with seeing someone naked, just like you. A hidden noble like her wouldn't try to assault a stranger."

Dante: "..."

His hand twitched again, but he didn't respond to Ruby's question. That silence was enough to answer her question.

She sweated heavily and gulped.

She didn't understand why, but she was certain that she did the right thing by informing him before undressing.

And she was right, because when she took off her underwear, Dante barely resisted the urge to land an uppercut!

Afraid of receiving a sudden attack, she quickly opened her mouth and chanted. Then, red vines emerged and wrapped tightly around her body like a second layer of skin, finally giving her some warmth.

"See? Isn't this one better for work?" Ruby spun briefly, as if showing her comfort with it: "It even stops the annoying jiggles, like my brea—"

"You don't have to explain every single damn thing!" Dante opened his book again and averted his gaze from her.

Afterwards, Ruby handed Dante her clothes and opened her bag before saying: "I'll start with making the platforms of the other floors. My bag doesn't have all the materials, so I hope you cooperate and get the things I'm going to ask for."

"As you wish."

Dante's hand stopped twitching as he just closed the book and observed her working. Although the vines gave her only the minimum coverage, it was enough to keep her safe from a surprise uppercut.

He understood that this world wasn't the same as Earth.

But that didn't mean he was going to accept it.

He might accept some things like the normalized killing, but that was only an act of necessity.

He would never become like the people in this world.

'Still… I think some small changes are necessary…'

Dante didn't know whether that thought was truly his, but he knew that it was likely right.

Every place he had visited, whether it was a town or a village, contained many things that made him look away or act before his mind could think.

He couldn't just keep ignoring all the public executions.

He couldn't keep avoiding the slave markets.

He couldn't attack or show any small reaction simply because someone in front of him was naked.

Why?

Because that was strange behaviour!

Ruby immediately guessed that Emeralda was either a noble or someone from the Holy Kingdom by seeing her fair skin and rejection of nudity.

If someone with knowledge of Earth saw Dante, it wouldn't be hard to guess that Dante was a transmigrator who wasn't used to this world.

To avoid this, Dante would have to show he was just a normal man that simply didn't enjoy some things, not a traumatized boy who would attack all naked women.

'Yeah…' Dante scratched the back of his head: 'Maybe kicking Emeralda was a bit too much… '
