' Wait a minute, there's nothing here?' He muttered when he opened his eyes, as a veteran bandit, his sense of sight in the dark was far better than most yet he was surprised when he saw nothing.
" Hey what's the hold up, why'd you stop?" The blonde man said with furrowed brows, he ignored the bearded man and walked ahead but he cursed beneath his breath when he came upon the same obstruction.
The bearded man reached forward with his left hand and found it pressing hard against solid air?
" ....how is this even possible?" He muttered in disbelief.
"...!!!" His eyes swerved to his back when he felt a great chill creep up hus spine.
He saw 4 silhouettes in the dark, one of them had a receding glimmer over their fingers while the eyes of the other three were glowing in the dark and yet, the bearded man realizes that there was something all three of them had that were similar. Their glowing eyes that were filled with a visible hostility.
" Looks like we've got company..." The blonde guy quickly pulled out an arrow from his quiver and readied to shoot.
' Damnit, looks like we've been found out...' The bearded man curses their luck, he didn't understand how they're cover was blown when even the 4 mercenaries seemed to be in place and yet, these four had actually found them?
' They're all women?' The bearded man was puzzled yet he didn't underestimate them due to the instinctive danger he felt towards them.
" Tsk... Hey Baldy, I think it's best if you return to the boss and tell em about our current situation. I'll try my best to cover you before the mercenaries get wind of this."
" Alright!" The bearded man nodded, even if he disliked the blonde guy, his reasoning was still founded.
' What on earth?' The bearded man however, failed to take a single step. The moment he tried to leave, he felt a sudden suffocating feeling as if he'd been locked onto by a frightening monster.
" Baldy what on earth are you doing?!" The blonde man looked vexed when he saw that his colleague hadn't left yet.
The bearded man's forehead was covered in perspiration, his back drenched in cold sweat.
Just when the blonde man was thinking of fleeing instead. His pupils as well as the bearded man's, dilated when one of the women Infront of them, began to grow at an alarming rate.
It wasn't simply growth, but the fact that her body was morphing into something extremely frighting. In the dark, it was even harder to make out but the rapid transformation was equally terrifying.
Without a word, Grey lunged at the both of them, her blue eyes glowing like twin ghostly moons.
" F*ck! Who knew the target had supernaturals as bodyguards!" The blonde guy shot out two arrows in quick succession and leaped back to his right.
Grey swiped at both attacks, sending them flying.
' With this darned barrier put in place, it's going to be a lot harder keeping away from that monster, I need to get out of here now unless my death will become a certainty.' thought the blonde guy to himself.
' First I need to get rid of this darn barrier.' His gaze moved to Amy who's hands were glowing, with his years of experience, he knew that she was the magic user maintaining this barrier.
But before he could attack, A green eyed ghostly figure emerged Infront of the blonde guy but he reacted quickly, using his bow to block against it's clawed attacks.
' These guys aren't small fry at all.' He muttered helplessly.
" Hey Baldy, planning on giving me a hand or are you just going to keep standing there?" He called out to his bald compatriot.
" What?" His expression faltered when he saw that his colleague was gone... No, it wasn't as if he'd disappeared, but that his body had been sliced into countless slabs of clean meat.
"...?!!" The blonde man felt a sudden chill down his spine and quickly rolled to the side right after his feet reached the ground.
He glanced behind him after standing on his feet, to see that he'd narrowly missed being grabbed by a pale clawed hand.
His lips pressed thin when he saw that he was slowly being cornered by Emma, Grey and Snow, who'd shifted back into their true forms.
" Alright... I give." The blonde man chuckled before dropping his bow. " I'm willing to cooperate."
" If you let me go, I might even tell you who my boss is." He added, looking quite smug. " So, what do you think, it's a reasonable deal isn't it–"
" Not at all..." A cold voice whispered against his ears. The blonde man shivered when he saw someone emerge next to him in the blink of an eye.
Before he could say a word, a clawed hand, pierced right through his chest from behind, all the way to the other side.
Amy who was at the edge of the battle, was alarmed to see Adrians hand grasping the man's beating heart as blood spilled down his palm.
" How're..."
" H-How a..are"
" H-How a-are you st-still...alive?" The blonde man's head craned to his left to look at the man he believed he had killed and yet, all he saw were a pair of frosty eyes staring back at him.

Outside the barrier, a little squirrel perched atop a tree branch, watching the entire exchange.
" Adrian? But you..." Amy herself was surprised to see him back on his feet. She stared at the lifeless corpse before back at him who was wiping his hands against the bandit archers cloth.
She glanced at the other girls and frowned when she didn't see any trace of surprise on their faces at all.
" You all knew?!" Amy was stumped at the idea of him being to evade death like that but she felt a tad annoyed that the others knew but didn't tell her. To think that after erecting that barrier earlier, she had been worried about how she'd explain to Aunty Melissa about her son's death.
The barrier had been erected with the intent of
Obstructing the view of those outside, as well as keeping their actions unheard.
Amy stormed towards him before grabbing at his collar. The girls naturally responded with unfriendly looks.
" Why didn't you tell me!" Adrian signaled for the girls to remain impassive. Seeing Amy's reaction, his lips curled upwards ever so slightly.
" It's not like I lied, You just never asked."
" So you think this is funny..." She paused from his reply before tightening her grip around his collar bit her grip loosened shortly after.
" I thought you were actually dead! Do you have any idea how that feels." She yelled at him but her expression looked a bit hurt rather than overwhelming anger.
Amy's body trembled as the sobs she'd been trying her best to hold back earlier, finally came pouring out. She rested her head on his chest, sniffling as she cried. " Idiot... Idiot idiot... How could you not tell me about this."
Adrian let out a short breath to steady himself before placing his hands on her back, patting her gently in an attempt to console her. " I was just not sure you'd even believe me if I told you.. besides? What would be the point unless I actually attempted to die."
" Ouch..." Adrian winced when she pinched his side.
Amy flashed him a look before chuckling softly. " I guess you have a point."
Adrian smiled seeing her all better. He then held her back by the shoulders before stretching his limbs, treating his own death as a simple passing.
" Alright, now that that's out of the way, Why don't all head back. I'm sure my mom's worried by this point, let's not burden poor Leo more than we should." He snickered.
" But what about them?" Snow spoke up, glancing at the Blonde mans deceased corpse. " He made it clear that they weren't alone, and that there was someone behind them. Why not see if we can find their leader and end them to rid ourselves of this nuisance once and for all."
" Woah... You're speech patterns have gotten even cooler." Adrian stared at her with shimmering eyes, looking awestruck.
A light smile made its way onto snow's face. From the looks of it, she loved being praised by him.
But his expression quickly calmed down the next moment. " But how're we supposed to find their leader when I already killed him."
" That's right... This idiot basically destroyed our only lead." Amy didn't hold back yet she snickered at the thought.
Adrian smiled, looking a bit helpless. " I guess I should've thought it through before killing him."
" I don't think darling did anything wrong since he was the one who attacked you first." Grey who was back in human form, interjected.
" Why, thank you Grey." Adrian faked a sniffling look, inching towards her before pulling her into his arms and gently stroking her head. " You know, I'm starting to think that you're the only one in this group who really cares about me..."
" Ummm." Adrian's speech paused when he glanced to his side to see Emma tugging at his top, yet looking away at the same time.
